@stumpy oh my gosh that sounds so cute! i wish my cats were that sweet.
@queenie cats will be cats and cats are weird.
my cat is as dumb as a rock. so tiny has some separation anxiety when it comes to me. she likes to be in the same room as me most of the time and if i go to another room she follows after me. if she can't find me she just wails until i find her. at night she sleeps at the foot of my bed. so i leave my bedroom door open a crack to allow her in and out of my room if needed. but last night i think she thought my door was closed because for a good while she sat outside my room and wailed even though my door was open for her.
also y'all need to watch these two amazing videos. for both videos you can skip to fourty seconds

I have the exact same "problem"(I kinda like that she's clingy. I don't really have anyone to talk to so I just talk to her because shes always by my side)! My Maincoon cat is always in the same room but I guess not? She doesn't go over the baby gate that we put by the stairs so our dogs won't eats the cat food. She only does it when the dogs are in their cages. That aside, She meows by the baby gate for me when I'm just eating on the other side as well as sitting outside my door to "Protect me" from something. She's very clingy and does many of the things you said. I do keep a crack in my door for her too but that's also because I have the cat food and water in my room.
Here's an adorable picture of her on my couch <3 (Sorry that its grainy, I zoomed in a lot so I wouldn't wake her up)
