2018 Summer Event: Pet, Item, & Event Discussion

So with the complaints about the Resort Chips vs other token trade ins, I thought i'd take a look at some numbers. Now this is only for pets so I didn't take trying to get items into account. From what I can tell the trade ins are actually pretty balanced right now.
If only going for pets and getting each outcome on the first try you would be spending:

29 Resort chips

72 Seeds, Seedlings, Fruit (approx 24 of each if separating)

11 Machine Parts

Now of course it's pretty implausible to get each outcome on the first try, especially with the resort chip games but as far as I can tell from both the discussion thread and the trade thread, no outcome appears to be more uncommon than any other. The only problem I can see is if a user chooses to not try trading or is hoarding a specific outcome.

However that number does bump up slightly with resort chips if including items, but not by much and trading is still a viable option.

I'm not judging or criticizing anyone, I just thought the stats would be interesting to look at.

Like everyone else, I do believe the resort chip trade-ins do need to take a break, so hopefully next rollover will require seeds, seedlings, and or fruit.

You’re counting chance games incorrectly. Celozon’s data show there is a 1/3 and 1/2 chance of winning the race and golf respectively, so you need to triple and double the tokens there. People are not swapping the items for the pets from these games. Further, it’s pretty clear that at least the EPPS cat is rarer than littermates, while the trade-ins for seeds, fruits, and seedlings seem pretty even in rarity, meaning you need more chips to get all litter outcomes.

One other problem: most of the time fruits/seeds/plants are mixed trade-ins, aka you can either use plants or fruits or seeds. There are several choices.
Most chip trade-ins (if not all, didn't check before writing this post) aren't mixed though, you can ONLY use the chips.

I'm very sure if you hit the limit (or almost hit it), you should have no problem getting all the pets.
Not counting incredibly unlucky people, but counting trading/swapping for outcomes.
Two of my irl friends have little to no time this event, but they managed to trade for quite some outcomes using older pets. ^^

I believe you misread my post as I stated i wasn't taking chance into it.

I have also easily traded items for pets so maybe you were just unlucky?
And as far as i could tell again, looking at the trades, the event discussion threads, and stalking some user's groups, the EPPS is more popular but not necessarily rarer.

As much as I love these beautiful creatures, my OCD simply will not allow me to have them. Why, you might ask? Well.. they're missing a section of feathers on the lower half of their wings (shown in green on the diagram), the ones that are needed to connect the rest of the wing to their hips. It helps with uplift and stability.. so these guys would have a real hard time flying. ^^'

Not that I'm complaining or being mean or anything, at least not intentionally, it just really bugs me to see this error so often. X'D It's almost like seeing a discoloured pixel on a screen, you're helpless to change it so live with it, but have to spend every day looking at it in despair and hopelessness. XD

That's a really useful diagram Myth&Destiny, did you make it? Thanks for posting - as an artist myself I will refer back to it for my own work.

As for the CS winged creatures, I don't mind a bit of artistic licence, as they are all so beautiful.

I didn't draw the diagram, I think the page I've linked it to does link back to the original artist, but I use these all the time. I love them so much, so informative, and they were of big help when we were studying avians and birds of prey in college. c:

I'm still hoping for an NPC to show up later that says something like: "Hey, i'll give you X number of resort chips if you give me X number of the other types of tokens". Probably not likely, but a guy can wish anyway, heheh.

Maybe I'm the wierdo out of the bunch, but i haven't felt the first little bit of stress yet about trying to stay "caught up". After all, after the event is done with and the hype dies down, it will be easier swapping pets / items with others just like with everything else that has passed by.

I also hoping for a total own swap option. I've been quite active during this event and I'm still way behind. I can't imagine how far behind I'd be if I wasn't able to get on as often. I can't recall any other events that were this difficult. At least its not over yet, so hopefully I'll still have a chance that catch up.

"EPPS" Stands for extreme peter pan syndrome/early peter pan syndrome, and just means that the pet has PPS but in the newborn stage (for example a chicken that stays in the egg stage rather than a PPS chick, or a dog or cat staying under their blanket.) (:

I really hate that i'm getting very little casette tokens. I have none of the pets that cost 3 of those, i only have 2 eggs since i already twice didn't win... and i love the parrots/macaw coming out of it! I did manage to get 2 ponybirds and trade 1 in so thats okay, but i'd love to get the cats and the parrotwolves too.
I'm even getting the mechanic parts a lot easier.

Alao, i might have missed it, but does anybody know if the regular attacks have any function or are just for fun? Does it have a secret counter or something that when it hits opens a new area? Because although i greatly enjoy reading the misfunctioning attacks of all of us i really don't get why there is a timer on the button
