2018 Summer Event: Pet, Item, & Event Discussion

So with the complaints about the Resort Chips vs other token trade ins, I thought i'd take a look at some numbers. Now this is only for pets so I didn't take trying to get items into account. From what I can tell the trade ins are actually pretty balanced right now.
If only going for pets and getting each outcome on the first try you would be spending:

29 Resort chips

72 Seeds, Seedlings, Fruit (approx 24 of each if separating)

11 Machine Parts

Now of course it's pretty implausible to get each outcome on the first try, especially with the resort chip games but as far as I can tell from both the discussion thread and the trade thread, no outcome appears to be more uncommon than any other. The only problem I can see is if a user chooses to not try trading or is hoarding a specific outcome.

However that number does bump up slightly with resort chips if including items, but not by much and trading is still a viable option.

I'm not judging or criticizing anyone, I just thought the stats would be interesting to look at.

Like everyone else, I do believe the resort chip trade-ins do need to take a break, so hopefully next rollover will require seeds, seedlings, and or fruit.

Yeah I hope they take a break too. After trading in for all the pets, and trading for no tokens, I had 27 resort chips left. I worked very sparingly with my tokens as I do every event, so I have no pets to spare except for 2 macaws, and one frog totem. The chips are not leaving people for much wiggle room at all. I traded off 12 of my resort chips for a wishlist pet and now I've hit the banner limit. I'm glad I have that pet now but I haven't left myself with many resort chips as a backup if something happens. I'm hoping there will be a trade in with the nature spirits where they want more seeds and sprouts and they give you resort they found on the ground or something similar.

You’re counting chance games incorrectly. Celozon’s data show there is a 1/3 and 1/2 chance of winning the race and golf respectively, so you need to triple and double the tokens there. People are not swapping the items for the pets from these games. Further, it’s pretty clear that at least the EPPS cat is rarer than littermates, while the trade-ins for seeds, fruits, and seedlings seem pretty even in rarity, meaning you need more chips to get all litter outcomes.

I have also easily traded items for pets so maybe you were just unlucky?
And as far as i could tell again, looking at the trades, the event discussion threads, and stalking some user's groups, the EPPS is more popular but not necessarily rarer.

I'm still hoping for an NPC to show up later that says something like: "Hey, i'll give you X number of resort chips if you give me X number of the other types of tokens". Probably not likely, but a guy can wish anyway, heheh.

Maybe I'm the wierdo out of the bunch, but i haven't felt the first little bit of stress yet about trying to stay "caught up". After all, after the event is done with and the hype dies down, it will be easier swapping pets / items with others just like with everything else that has passed by.

Yeah, I've had a post up swapping 3 totems for an egg and I've had plenty of trades from people who keep getting eggs and not the totem they need.

Also just a nitpick but I'd argue the PPS is rarer than the EPPS - but again I just got a straight litter swap for an adult - now whether that's because I get favour in trades from some people over a regular user or not is also something to take into account (not in the tone of bragging but being fair considering my trades in comparison)

I really really like the swap idea - most of my hoards have been resort chips and I'd just love to be able to blow the rest of my tokens on 'em as well haha

Isn't that one bird from the eggs full grown? I can't find it on the archives, but all the other pets from yesterday are there. So, I thought maybe it wasn't finished growing or something? I missed that outcome

It's full grown, I guess adding new species to the archives takes more time and coding than adding in pets of already established lines.

They always say they have pets done months in advance (Especially for events/new species I would imagine), I wonder why the coding wasn't done in advance?

Pets that reach full grown maturity always take time before being added to the archives. It can be a few hours or even a few days. It's the same for any pet not just new lines. They're added manually so, as far as I know, it has nothing to do with how they are coded.

Yeah, no stress here either. I was a bit exasperated at the resort chip situation, but only because I don't have time to spend on here all day collecting tokens so I am waaay behind and it's really difficult to get enough of them - I haven't even started trying to collect the cats or butterwolves yet - but I'm not stressed. I'm really enjoying the event so far.

As much as I love these beautiful creatures, my OCD simply will not allow me to have them. Why, you might ask? Well.. they're missing a section of feathers on the lower half of their wings (shown in green on the diagram), the ones that are needed to connect the rest of the wing to their hips. It helps with uplift and stability.. so these guys would have a real hard time flying. ^^'

Not that I'm complaining or being mean or anything, at least not intentionally, it just really bugs me to see this error so often. X'D It's almost like seeing a discoloured pixel on a screen, you're helpless to change it so live with it, but have to spend every day looking at it in despair and hopelessness. XD

Can agree tho that I do prefer more anatomically correct wings, but these wings are a lot more anatomically correct than a lot of wings on other CS pets. I’m guessing they left out the other feathers so the wing shape would curve into the back since they maybe didn’t want the wing to extend into the tail

Has anyone found any evidence of a still growing macaw egg outcome? Or a split in the Day 3s?
I saw a few people talking about it (yesterday, I think) but no one really had anything confirmed.

On th e outcomes thread, it says that there is only 4 “so far” and that really has me worried I’m missing something.

Nobody has posted any on-time still growing eggs or day 3 chicks so far. It's been almost a day, so it's safe to say they don't exist.^^
