2018 Summer Event: Casual Chat v2

ive decided to devote some time to a post with my comments, even though i should probably be sleeping.

this event has such great pets. i really get the tropical/rain forest/jungle feeling from all of the new pets. the editing job on the gorillas, okapis, and so many other pets are amazing! the items are awesome too, personally i love the scenery items we got. sadly, those are the only good things i can really say about the event at this point. it started off with so much potential. they definitely got the hype with the locked gate and the jungle adventure coming soon! it was pretty cool at the start of opening the gate but, for me, it started to go downhill when the whole construction thing started and has been going on with no resolve for a few days now. there isn't really much plot going on at this point and even if it starts to pick up now, the timing will be really off, unless they make the event longer than usual. i dont really have too much motivation for keeping up my pace. im not super stressed over the tokens but i do think the ratio of fruit to resort chips is too skewed.

anyways, im done with my complaining for now since it seems to be bothering everyone. im not trying to be negative, im just stating my honestly opinion. just trying to get my comments out into the air lol

For me, I think my favorite summer events were...

Dreamland > Egypt = Beach > Space = Medieval > Lost City > Candy

I don't know where this Jungle event would fall. I like some of the designs more than both Lost City and Candyland, but the resort chip thing has rather soured my enjoyment. I wish there was a fruit/seed/plant/machine part trade in for chips. Doesn't help I get maybe one every 4 hours, or that golf/ducks don't guarantee a pet. Lost City had the gambling thing with the hamster racers and the shell game too, but I don't remember those being quite as bad.

Guys, just saying, we really shouldn't complain. We should be happy that we got an event. They work super hard to put this on for us and we really should be grateful

Yeah, as someone who ranted a lot, I get it. I know I shouldn't complain, but if something is boring, you shouldn't expect people not to point it out. I am grateful for all the new pets and the hard work of the staff, but honestly, I was a bit upset with how things were going, especially when I had to stay up all night to even get all the pets purely through swaps.

I can understand the first few summer events to be slow, but like someone said, they had a lot of time to evolve. They shouldn't be extremely fast nor extremely slow. They didn't even exactly give us much of a story, not that I'm saying there is none. A player should have motivation to complete a task or objective. If they don't have a goal or anything driving them to finish that task, what's the point of it? Someone won't feel accomplished about doing something unless there were circumstances given for them to actually feel like that. I don't see someone going, "wow, i just snagged all the monthly pets! I'm really invested into each and every one of them!", cause nobody would really feel like that at all. They had no motivation to get those pets, so it's like just grabbing them to grab them for your collection. Event pets should feel different, because they're special and give a player something fun to look back on cause you get them through hard work instead of effortlessly pressing "adopt".

People complaining here just want a proper story and objective in the first 3 days instead of having to wait over a week for it to finally get interesting. They're like interactive stories, yet again, books. If a book isn't interesting at all in the first three chapters, do you really want to keep reading it? I completely understand everyone's views, whether they like it or not, but I'm just saying, it was a bit boring compared to others. It doesn't have no story, but it doesn't have enough for people to be motivated and want to get invested for the sake of the pets and the ultimate goal of the adventure. Yes, we're being extreme, but when this many players have the same viewpoint that it's "boring", I think the CS staff could've done a bit better. This event just wasn't their best, but I've still enjoyed it for the most part. I'm happy for those who looked on the bright side and love it.

for me it has to be egypt > space > lost city > candy!
i dont really want to place the jungle event yet because it might change at the end but i have a feeling it will be around equal to the lost city or candy event

TBH even though i'm complaining about having too little resort tokens (and I'm super stressed over this event), I have to say this has been my favorite event pet & item wise (that I've gotten to experience.) While I love mystical & colorful pets, I prefer natural pets just a tad more. I love dressing up my pets, and the past events didn't really offer much in that department. I mean the candy event pets were so colorful, and the space & lost city were so beautiful and imaginative, but I couldn't really dress them up because of their heavy theming. The items were also super themed (which I mean DUH) but it's like I couldn't really use the items unless I wanted my pet in candyland or in space. The Jungle event has offered a lot of natural pets (even the colorful ones work because they aren't so heavily themed!) and I LOVE every item that we've gotten out of this event so far! I guess it really just boils down to if you prefer your pets to be dressed up already or if you like a blank canvas CS pet =)

I agree with you, I adore this event but I am having the worst luck getting coins. I still haven't completed my clothing and wigs, or cats...and I still have zero of these gorgeous butterfly parrots. Love it all, but I'm so behind. Please don't think I'm complaining, I'm not. Just discouraged that's all, I think the animals are gorgeous (though the Egypt event cows are still my favorite). I'm really pleased with the event just not caring too much for the amount of tokens. Staff please don't think I'm ungrateful, I'm not at all. Just overwhelmed that's all
