Where did my name come from? wrote:Pereskia is not actually his real name. He had a falling out with his parents at a rather young age and as a way to get back at them he changed his name to spite them. He had few cactuses of his own and decided to name himself after the rather beautiful flowering cacti bush. He started introducing himself to people as Pereskia and his friends started to call him Perry. He finally got his name changed when he moved out of his home and started to live on his own.
Day in the life from Pereskia wrote:Well I wake up in the morning feeling like a god. Haha, just kidding. Although after I wake up and bathe I feel a million times better and it awakens my core. I love to style my hair in the morning and it tends to take a hot minute. It can be a hassle because I have to get up extra early for work in order to do so but some times I can get away with day two hair. When I leave in the morning it's about a 30 minute drive to work. Excluding the days I stop to grab a bubble tea, that stuff is addictive. I love any fruit flavored teas but coconut is what I tend to order.
My workplace is really a lovely place. The shop is a little nursery owned by a sweet older Kalon named Herbert. He pays me fairly and I feel great helping him out plus I get to be surrounded by vibrant plant life all day and gorgeous succulent gardens. The shop is open Monday through Friday and I usually work most days. Unfortunately I to get irate when talking with people but the customers that come in tend to have quite a bit in common with me and I can tolerate their company (Herbert tends to save me by manning the register while I tend to the plants though). At work there is one other fellow that works with us but I really haven't gotten to know them very well which is a future goal of mine. After work I usually head back to my place. I love watching movies, I have a giant TV set up in the corner of my room. And I have a pretty decent kitchen that I cook in everyday. Some nights I bring friends over to share some good food. Weekends usually consist of me taaking my jeep out and I will drive it down to some cavers I know of or I will find a beach. I collect agates and keep them in mason jars at my house. They are really just gorgeous rocks.
