I like this idea! I like to be organized on sites.

On top of this, another suggestion would be putting how many of each pet you have on the WL. That way, when you edit it, you know what you have duplicates of versus searching all your groups for two of the same.

Are you meaning as in adding how many you have on your account currently in the archives, or adding something like ‘I want this many of this on my wishlist and when I obtain this many in trades alert me’?

Feel free to add me to the supporters list, I think this is so cool and absolutely useful, Personally, my WL is every pet I DON'T have because it makes it easier for me to trade, once a trade is accepted I remove them. While rarities do matter to me, I simply like to collect, I like to have complete sets rather than a ton of VR's (which is clearly the case if you look at my pet collection) I think the beauty of the WL is how you can use it in your own way, however it helps you personally

The downside to this method is that now I cannot have a way to track down specific pets like hoards or dream pets. It would be so much easier to have two-three WL options so that I could find things while trading easier.

Does anyone know why this has not happened yet? It seems like a pretty widely supported and simple idea, could any mods provide some insight?

There so much "low hanging fruit" like this in the suggestions board that could easily be taken care of given a little bit of time, yet there's been very very few improvements to the site for many years now.
I'm guessing the site is considered "done" and is just in maintenance mode.

This is exactly how I feel, having been on the site for so many years now though I have noticed a huge decline in the number of users that are actually active on a day to day basis, me being one of them that is "half-active" so to speak, and I feel it is for this reason. There is very little change in small things so people get frustrated and feel unheard, even though CS is supposed to be a community. I'm not hating, I just feel like simple changes like this could really bring up activity
