So here's my theory:
The hotel is cutting down the jungle to make room for more stuff. The spirits of the jungle obviously aren't happy about that, so they've been kidnapping hotel staff and are keeping them prisoner in the temple until they stop destroying the jungle.

I suspect we will visit Hades in the underworld with more cerberus adoptables, fiery hell hounds and shadow pet items. Or it could be China with a dragon city inside. Or maybe Halloween in July?
