Welcome to the RVEC Sport Pony Registry, also known as the SPR! We strive to promote the healthy, thoughtful breeding of Sport Ponies throughout Redwood Valley Equestrian Centre. We offer several benefits, including health, mortality, and breeding insurance, reduced AI Bank prices, and choice breeding supplements. The Sport Pony Registry also offers registration for horses looking to be approved for Sport Pony stud books and permits horses to receive a registered name, which is permanent and cannot be changed by any user in the future. Registering your horse allows your horse to receive a brand, set a permanent registered name, and list the official breed on his or her page, provided he or she passes the standard set for that breed. It also entitles you to participate in any contests or competitions hosted by the Sport Pony Registry as well as receive complementary SPR show accessories. Horses that have already registered with another association as their primary registry will not receive a brand and must write under "Registered name" that they are already registered to prevent confusion. Horses already registered under a breed-specific registry may not have their breed changed by applying to the SPR Registry and vice versa.
Horses can be and produce purebred Sport Ponies without being registered in the SPR, but breeding two different breeds of Sport Ponies together will produce a crossbred foal. Registering the resulting foal in the SPR will give them the benefit of being purebred again, including the purebred foal bonus.
