It wasn't long before i was reconnected with the ground though not before being violently shook with uncanny ease, hands blocking the my head and face from being hit on the side of the vehicle not removing them until i felt the hot breath fanning my face, another's body heat everywhere else as i removed my hands from their cupping position. What i was faced with though it shouldn't have been, was heavily surprising likely due to the fact none of us thought it would get to this point, at least certainly not after confirming their existence only the day prior. Staring up at the enraged creature i felt my breathing slow not because i couldn't, but because i didn't want too, i didn't want this thing to know how utterly terrified i was as i stared back into its cold gaze. After what felt like hours but were meere minutes a flash of red seemed to pull both our attention to it, the now familiar sound of thunderous paws on the ground telling it was a werewolf that was dashing towards us leaving only one thought playing on a loop in my head - i was going to die. Switching my gaze to the older standing over me to the one i was sure would deliver the final blow i was take aback by its actions, it stopping on the other side and seemingly challenging the one i had spent a uncomfortable amount of time with this ones gaze calmer, gentler almost protecting and its aura despite still dangerous a nice change, having its fangs flashing at one of its own rather then us. Remaining downed the during the whole exchange - not having any other option i glanced to D'arc, and the beast he was met with as they had their show down, the hardly seeable blade slashing at its rear and it reacting accordingly, had it honestly been any of the other team members i'd be more fearful for their safety - not that i wasn't for D'arcs, but i knew he could take care of himself he had proven it on multiple occasions i trusted he knew what he was doing, or at least i hoped.
Being drawn from the situation my leader had been dealing with as i felt the sudden slimy cold wetness upon my shoulder, resulting in a sharp wince i snapped my head back in its direction with a dangerously narrowed gaze, form instantly moving away from its own redden one while searching it, my expression laced with confusion and unsureness however as i watched it longer i unknowingly had a vague flash of respect for the being, this one was different that much was obvious but the question was why? what didn't we know?. I hadn't dwelled on the unknown for too long when i heard the grunt suddenly beside me, my once captor quite amused by the action i looked over finding D'arc now beside me with a very uncharacteristic expression upon his face, one i couldn't read i instantly was brought back to the reality of the situation now wasting no time to haul myself up with a bit more effort than usual as the pain numbing adrenaline beginning to wear off i stood up, heartbeat once more ringing loudly in my ears as i stared down at the quickly growing group of lupines i hadn't even noticed my savior had hidden my weapon in the mist of things and hardly thought i'd notice its absence for awhile. For now i stood along side my companion his presence alone carrying a calm, protected aura as it always had sort of like a safety blanket while we awaited the next move to be made knowing likely neither would be the one to make it, not in this encounter anyway.

The sound of slicing through the already thick air was nearly bone chilling, a sound one would think only existed in old western movies after being littered with sound effects but that wasn't the case and certainly wasn't here, giving another strong snarl with my bared fangs flashing i didn't hesitate to lunge out of the way hackles still arisen along my neck and seemingly seemed to rise more as i felt the tearing of flesh along my hip the sound of the blade cutting through skin fueling my body to spin around with pinned audits and a fire filled gaze only faulturing as i landed upon the now injured joint with a pained growl. Shaking my pelt quickly and leg along with it as if trying to shake off the discomfort i glanced back at the damp fur it stung like a bitch but i knew likely with the enhanced healing abilities it'd be alright it didn't make it any more welcome though. Watching as the sly bastard moved effortlessly towards his friend, who i could have sworn was beneath Emery when we arrived i lowered my head, tail flicking angrily behind me while i stepped towards him once, twice, three times tongue flicking along my nose and maw with each step i wanted so badly to end them, both of them without thinking twice, to make them and each like them suffer for what pain they had brought upon the pack without a care or hesitation, to bring justice, safety back home or even leverage for whomever came after them, and i was about too. Watching souly my target i lowered my form, dangerously close to the ground i prepared to lunge for a second attempt green eyes locked on his knife momentarily then his heck one last growl emerging from my parted maw i moved to preform the life taking action however the last possible second i froze still crouched upon the ground, completely as everything stopped my body suddenly motionless and ears fully erect on top my skull, gaze locked still on the two legged male with a now mixed gaze as i seemingly didn't see him
The events that lead up to this very moment replayed rapidly in my head everything seemed to rush back at once the funeral held for the alphas days ago, the falling of skylar, the continuous seemingly never ending announcements that our family members had been slaughtered about the territory and the shot i had taken protecting Emmy - Emmelene.. like a brick wall the words i had last assured her echoed in my ears over and over like a broken record "nobody's going to die.. nobody's dying today... i said nobody's dying" the various forms i had made the practical promise in haunted a irritated sound between an growl and whine coming out nearly inaudible while i shook my head, trying to rid of the guilt tripping words circling my head though it was no use as soon the voice in the back of my head started in "i got it! damnit!" I snarled angerly back at the cautious being lurking in my mind. Finally back to the tension laced situation i glanced at the two pack members just paces away now, then the two humans across them them a burning unreadable aura being thrown their way i shook my pelt out once more souly paying attention to the male i deemed the most threatening, a calmer tone yet one that still held my strong dominance now present. Flicking my attention from his face back to the barely visible blade in his hand i appointed a disapproving growl at the object this time before finally taking a step back posture still strong and form held high i fell silent once more the voice pointing out the fact that was stupidly obvious i was surprised i had missed it. These were skilled hunters we all knew that, typically if there was a group this good, they'd run in numbers at least to be sending out their members so blindly they had to have members waiting, watching somewhere. This new thought in mind i glanced around slowly not towards the small group but upland i couldn't be sure but i had the feeling it was true something seemed off and the fact we had no idea how many of them were out there only made the sudden concern rise. I glaced to emmery with a nearly blank expression looking him over for any wounds before doing the same with Lance only turning back to the damned hunters when i was sure they were okay for the humans sake- they were lucky. Finally i had taken a few more steps back though not before staring intensely at the threats for a few moments as if daring them to make a move my tassle lashing before i released a strong bark, ensuring i had both Emery and Lance's attention before flicking the tip of my tail back towards the woods a silent order to fall back i wouldn't risk the safety anymore not now thinking it though there could be more casualties then needed and i wouldn't let anymore of my men fall at the hands of these beasts they'd soon meet their fate though that i could promise, so now standing in my typical strong dominate stance i eyed the ones by the jeep, awaiting the arrival of my pack members before backing up and slowly following after, ensuring i was the last one to leave in case they indeed were stupid enough to try something.
