I finally got diamond. I can stop playing this game that's taken over my life! Haha just kidding, my next goal is Masters. >u>

my past 8 ranked games have been plagued with feeders, afks, and just straight-up inting. this has resulted, unfortunately, in 8 losses. i searched up how to climb in such a scenario and the general advice i found was to improve myself and just carry.
for a while i tried that mentality and i did see a lot of areas i sucked in: i started warding a lot more, looked at the minimap more frequently, etc.
however, i've gotten to the point where i feel like i literally cannot climb. no matter how fed i get, there's always someone who feeds like crazy (ironically, it is always my top and jungler). i'm not whining about my situation currently, i just really need help as to how to climb in such an environment. do i need to change the champs i play? do i need to ward more? etc. etc.
btw this is in low silver, and i'm a support/mid main.
thank you soo much for any useful advice~
I try to stop playing after two losses, even if I played perfectly. When you're discouraged, you are not going to perform to the best of your ability no matter what. It's really hard to do this, especially when I lost both games because of someone else, but it has stopped me from demoting.
Second, unless you play a playmaker support with hard engage (like Rakan, Thresh, Alistar, etc.) stop playing support until you're in gold. I'm a support main and I have been since season 4. Silver players are simply too unreliable for your role to be influential. You can be a great support but it is simply not possible for you to stop someone who makes bad decisions consistently. It is possible to climb on support, but even in high elo, this is the role where you will climb the slowest. Play mid, and be able to play at least two tanky top laners for the chance that you are autofilled. Most people who feed in top lane aren't top lane players, and if you cannot play the role well, then playing a beefy utility tank (think Malphite) is your best option.
In the current meta, early game scuttle control is very important because your jungler wants to get ahead of the other jungler. ALWAYS watch both scuttles and watch your jungler so that you can roam down and be present. I have lost too many games because my jungler lost a 1v2 while my midlaner refused to move, and the enemy jungler snowballed from it.
I also found it really helpful to duo with good players that I met in solo queue. As a support, I like to duo with a jungler and they'll try to get top and mid fed, then we have complete dragon control. They don't have to be the best player or be a smurf, but you'll definitely synergize with some players better than others. Find some that you play well with and queue up with them.
I hope that helps a bit! I know the struggle of climbing; I started gold 5 this season and I found g3/g2 and p3/p2 to be my biggest hurdles.
