Five years. It made sense why Chara didn't recognize Miri, since she had only reawakened when Frisk fell down. And in a way, she agreed with Miri's sentiment that the Underground didn't feel like a prison. Even though she had been stuck here as well, she was happy. It had become her home, and she hadn't once missed her life above ground. The only reason she had tried to break the barrier in the first place was to get revenge and to free the monsters. If the monsters had been content living Underground, then she likely would have stayed as well.

"I suppose that if you have unfinished business, now would be the time to finish," she mused. "I would assume you have been in hiding for quite some time..." Chara thought for a second, then added, "I am certain you've encountered monsters before, at the very least you've spoken with..." She stopped her speech abruptly for a brief moment, then continued on like normal. "...Toriel. Do you plan on getting revenge on monsterkind for attempting to take your soul?"

"i'm not much for revenge in any circumstance, but no one's tried to harm me at all. that said, you're only the second person i've revealed my species to," i say with a laugh. "and, in fact, her majesty is one of the only monsters i haven't spoken to during my time here. i wasn't much older than you the last time i saw her, and i was scared half to death then. i don't speak to anyone all that much, really. i'll hum a little melody, or give advice, or make comments on little things i've noticed. sometimes i warn my passengers of... entities... to beware of." i frown and glance over chara's shoulder. the flecks in the walls are particularly blue today. "sometimes i say something wonderfully confusing, just for fun. what do you do for fun, o savior of monsterkind?"

Finally catching up to the crowd, she pushed her way through. "Pardon me, sorry, coming through, watch your step, excuse me Deary-" She muttered as she made her way closer and closer to the front, her goal only a little further. "Almost there... Just a little longer..." She murmured, stepping around a trio of Froggits.
Finally after a half an hour, she was standing on the edge of the barrier. Or where the barrier used to be, anyways. All she could see was light at the end of a long corridor of sorts, her gateway to freedom. Taking a deep breath, she strode forwards, towards the light. Though, a prickling sensation nagged her. The feeling that all wasn't what it seems had returned, and it was much stronger. She pushed the thought to the back of her mind. It wasn't important right now.
Here she was, standing on the edge, so close to the surface. To think that the monsters of the Underground had been trapped here for thousands of years, and now we're finally stepping onto their old home, was crazy. Stop dwelling on the past... Your future is right in front of you. Come on, just take a step forward. So, she did.
((Cliff hanger... BUM BUM BUUUUM!also, I don't have time to write the other characters. Sowwy! I'll include them all next time! ))
