@palla it’s understandable that bighit lashed out then. at the time, maybe someone thought they were doing a good thing by sharing it but if i was in that situation, i’d rather keep it to myself && keep it as being special

What makes sharing these small videos different to sharing performances such as the Prom Party ones before BigHit releases them, or sharing secret tracks that you only get with physical album copies?

Hahaha, good point! From what I see, they're not much different-- all just paid content that got leaked. The only difference was that ARMYs were making fun of the situation (to the point where it even trended on Twitter, from what I've heard) and the rest happened. It's not like it never happened before-- Bon Voyage, those seasonal exclusive content (for the lack of a better description, I don't look at those stuff due to not being too deep in the fandom anymore and having other stuff to spend my time with), etc were all leaked, but Bighit ended up not taking a lot of action (from what I see) and fans just gobbled up that stuff. Pretty sure if things didn't escalate to the way it is now, lots of non-fanclub fans would've seen it anyways without much guilt.

Please enlighten me-- how are these ARMYs' actions racist? It just sounds like some fans who believe they did nothing wrong. When did they ever throw in the race card? Or is this only because it was K-ARMYs who leaked it, or that I-ARMYs generally have a harder time signing into these fanclubs/fan cafes?

wait no, lol you misunderstood.
k-army were being racist not because of the fancafe thing as I believe, I was very disappointed when I found out yesterday when I got on Twitter.
There were two different trends with it and it caused a lot of disrespect and unnecessary bad attention guided onto us because of people being racist, mainly k-army.
It was especially to some Black ARMY and there were comments that were being rude to them such as; "stop trying to be us." or "stop worrying about that and start worrying about your skin." that's what i read a few and some even shared their stories of it.

the problem with the fancafe is that it makes k-armys more "privileged" in the fandom. it's all in korean so if you can't read it you're at a huge disadvantage. i was able to sign up for it using translators, but in order to actually access anything you need to pass a quiz which is written in korean and you can't copy and paste it to translate. i tried for a long time to pass it but i couldn't do it since i don't speak any korean. also i'm not sure how much the package thing costs but i think it's no less than $30

it really disappoints me that there is fighting and racism going on in the fandom right now. we're supposed to be a family! i do understand why some people are upset, but it shouldn't be this big of a deal. also, we watch things without paying all the time, for example a lot of people upload videos to youtube that you have to pay for on vlive - so it's not very different from other instances.
