sybil has no interest in being lead mare as she doesn't like the responsibility that much so thera is fine c:

so long as thera respects sybil, she'll be fine. sybil will only challenge thera if she decides to be disrespectful or 'pulls rank' per say. she's very dominant so she's likely to be below thera in the hierarchy, but she dislikes the responsibility of lead mare, but as i said, she will put thera in her box if sybil feels as though she's being disrespected c:
so in a way, most mares would have to go through sybil before challenging thera cx seeing as a mare has to climb ranks before taking on the lead mare lol
and sybil is very very marish, very stubborn, and can be snotty towards anyone who tries to disrespect her or challenge her, otherwise she's a delight lol, typical mare haha

mares can have milk for quite a long time after birthing, some even have milk after 5 years of no foals, but their udder can deflate and slow/stop production as soon as 3 weeks after birth if they don't get the stimulation of nursing and once they get the stimulant they are right back to lactating. it's different for each mare though
thera could have had a still born during the winter and still have milk, it won't be the best, but it would help until the nursing stimulates her enough to get her lactating again if you want her to keep the foal instead of sending it off to cita or mazi
i could have ellie hang on for long enough so the foal can get the colostrum [antibodies and necessary bacteria] so there's no worry about the foal getting sick from not having it
