blood. blood spilled onto the ground beneath her, a thick crimson hue. seth, despite feeling dizzy, fled from the hunt, managing to outrun ram at full speed.
she raced away from the ram and its other four companions, her legs feeling heavy and useless. the husky had failed a hunt, as expected, but this time man
aged to get herself a kick to the chest and one nearly to her small cranium. how was she not dead yet? she didn't know, but it felt like she would be dying if
she didn't get medical attention fast. seth had no idea how to treat herself, which was a very bad thing considering how many times she'd gotten injured be
fore in her lifetime, and there was no scratches, marks or wound on her chest, however, she was gagging up dark blood. after distancing herself from the gr
oup, seth tried to move herself to a nearby water source, the thought of cool water pleased her but it may not be the best solution to her problem. hallowa
y river, the scent of its earthiness led her towards it, and after what seemed like hours, the husky felt the chilliness of the damp ground beneath her cracke
d paws. the river glistened as the smallest amount of light shined down on it, making it look beautiful and pristine looking. without hesitation, seth lowered
herself to drink the shimmering water, but this did not appear to regain her senses. her ears were deafening to all noises, her nose was burning at all smells,
her vision was fading every time her eyes inched sideways and she felt numb, very numb, she could barely feel the coldness of this autumn morning. that w
as quite the kick to the chest she received, seth began to hobble away but found herself collapsing. unable to do anything, her vision clouded to nothingness

sadik and kade wandered along the border with their king following behind them. they were patrolling the eastern border, stopping to mark every possible sp
ot and sniffing at every little thing. yuuta did nothing but watch them do their work, feeling the need to tell them what they need to do and what they didn't
need to do, slightly prickling both of the two. laying beneath a coniferous tree with his front leg crossed over the other, he spoke with the usual chatter. "kad
e," he addressed the anatolian shepherd who turned keenly to him. "did you ever find that loner? you know, the one who smelled of blossoms?" there was hum
or in his voice, but neither one of them felt the need to give a chuckle. kade felt jumbled up, he indeed did find that loner a month ago with a rather uncann
y encounter that led to him threatening her with her pup's lives, but surprisingly, the loner was still ever so present in the territory. how did he know this? she
would always roam near the halloway river, leaving her flowery scent and clumps of fallen hair behind. he doubted that yuuta knew about her still being here
since he wouldn't have asked the question. kade, who had been staring blankly into space, nearly jumped at the king who repeated himself. "no, i haven't, i b
elieve they're gone, your majesty," he finally answered with his voice almost showing his dishonesty. yuuta slightly tilted his head to the side, trying to discer
n whether the shepherd was lying or not, but seemingly perceived it as the truth. "very well, kade." kade gave a sigh of relief and continued on. there weren't
any more questions after that which kade was glad for. the patrol went on in peace for the most part, but then an hour later, sadik came rushing back to them
with a... frightened? expression on his face. "your majesty! your majesty!" he called to yuuta, who startled out of his rest. "what is it?" he asked him, a bit irri
tated to be disturbed. "there's a dog laying near the river! they're not moving!" kade glanced up in shock and a bit of dismay, was it the loner from earlier? this
had woke the king as he already came to a stand, following the akita as well as ordering for the distressed kade to come along as well.
the three of them, coming to the halloway river, froze at the sight of the dog laying limp in the open. it appeared that there was no blood on them or around
them, and they were also breathing but it was fairly shallow. "they aren't dead, are they?" kade had questioned to which the akita had shook his head... "no,
they aren't, but who knows what can happen after a little while. come on──lets get a closer look, i suppose." they all cautiously walked over to the husky a
s if they could get up at any moment. "their breathing is fairly weak, i wondered what happened to them." sadik turned to the king. "should we take them, u
h, i mean... her... in? she could perhaps die without proper treatment." yuuta slowly gave the unconscious dog a once over, turning his head to the side in tho
ught. "i suppose so." he simply replied. "we should get her to the cavern now. as for treatment, i think i know someone that could help." sadik and kade glanc
ed at him in confusion. "what──someone? who?" hummed sadik in query and curiosity, peering back at the female. "dane──you don't know who he is but he's
knowledgeable when it comes to herbs and medicine, he used to be apart of the salvation but departed." the pyreenes said in response to his query. dane, a
brittany, used to be a friend of yuuta. though five months older than him, he was kind of immature and naive to the wilderness──truly living up to his sign──
but was quick to befriend him before he became the patriarch. yuuta wondered about him, he hadn't seen him in a long, long time as he chose to reside with
his siblings in the man's homeland, but yuuta could maybe summon him in his dreams──if he could try hard enough. it would be good for a reunion after all...

the trip back to the cavern wasn't an easy one. they all had to admit that lifting an unconscious dog up the mountainside path was fairly difficult, fearing tha
t the female and them would tumble back down to the ground. thankfully, using all their strength, they managed to get her there,,, putting her down where
the small pool of water was. "i'm surprised she hasn't woke up yet," said sadik, resting a couple of tail lengths away from the husky... "me too, but i suppose s
he'll wake later on." muttered yuuta quietly. kade silently waltz over to the cavern's entrance as if he were going somewhere, but was halted by yuuta. "wher
e are you running off to, kade?" he questioned suspiciously, but not moving from his spot. kade turned to face the king before simply answering with, "i'm goin
g hunting, i'll be back later." sadik gave him a look of doubt as to why he was hunting this late after they already did earlier, but did not open his mouth too..
the king gave a quiet hum of approval, but was also had the same look of doubt. unfazed, kade trotted out without glancing back.
