My best friends dog died this morning :(
Please pray for her
His name was Andri, and he was a French Britney Spaniel (one of the black spotted ones)
✞ I believe in Jesus Christ my Savior, and I am not afraid to admit it.
I asked Jesus, "How much do you love me?" Jesus replied, "This much." He stretched his arms on the arms on the cross and died. ✞

I swear my grandma's "puppy" has the worst manners when it comes to walking.
Whenever I try to tell her to train him she just says "awww don't shout at him, he's just a baby". Yes, he may be only 1 year old but he's the same size as my 3-year-old Mal and has the strength of a cart horse. I know 10 month old puppies that have better manners than him. At one point he's going to get bigger and people are going to stop laughing and saying "what a cute puppy" when he bounds over to them and instead start saying "this dog is horrible".

I'm a bit mad because I just got back from giving my dogs their nightly walk and I didn't want Zapper to be left behind so I took him too even knowing I'd probably get my shoulder ripped out of its socket if he saw anything like another dog or a child.
Winston (and occasionally Ruby) are well behaved during late night walks because they're relaxed and they know I don't tolerate pulling. I'm not saying my dogs are perfect: Ruby is extremely stubborn if she really wants to sniff something and refuses to move and if Winston sees a cat I have to dig my heels into the pavement, but Zapper just takes it to another level for me:

He's walked with me enough times to know that Winston walks on my left and Ruby goes on the right, yet he seems to enjoy going left and right, round and round, tangling up all the leads. He either lags behind because he literally can't be bothered to keep up or he's pulling ahead trying to get in front of Ruby (bad idea on his part).
When crossing the road my dogs walk at heel and have to be very sensible and focused. Zapper either wants to drag me straight across with absolutely no regard to anything or I'm trying to cross and he sees someone walking up the street and wants to drag me back the way we came to say hello.
He also chases cats. But with Winston once I tug on the lead he stops, Zapper is more determined. He's fine with our cat but another cat is a fun game of chase.
Someone walks by and he gets in front of them so they have to stop and pet him because he's always given so much attention he doesn't understand that some people have better things to do.
And whenever he climbs on top of people and barrels into children my grandma seems to think it's hilarious and ridiculously cute, but then comes to me all incredulous when someone doesn't like it and she has to be embarrassed and apologise. She's all like, "He's just a puppy, who do they think they are?!"
"Your massive dog just climbed on top of her while she was relaxing. I don't know, Nanny, who do they think they are?" (she doesn't get the hint, by the way)

This dog also still hardly knows sit. Doesn't comprehend the meaning of "Drop it", cannot for the life of himself "lie down" the first billion times you tell him to. And still doesn't understand "Get off/out". But at least he knows "paw" (I say, saltily).
Bearing in mind that anything he does just about know is what I have taught him because my grandma seems to think that he'll just know everything magically as soon as he's an adult. Just because you've had two extremely well-behaved German Shepherds (not even because the most recent one also had terrible walking manners and had to wear a choke chain) doesn't mean your Boxador is anything like those two. (Stomach of a labrador, intelligence of a boxer)

He used to wear a harness which seemed to make him pull less?? But apparently "He doesn't pull" according to my grandma (total lie) and "He didn't like wearing it", so she no longer brings it out with him. Meaning he just ends up panting and choking himself on his collar. I just don't understand some people.

@Deac.
Awh he's so handsome with his pink fur ♡
My mom's new dog has a black and white roan coat and is OBSESSED with rolling in any form of liquid.
Someone spilled their Hawiian Punch on the ground and left it so when I came home from work to care for him I had a pink dog,
and he smelled amazing, haha

I'm wanting to dye Anthem's face stripe and I may be fostering another BC puppy from the same rescue and same BYB confiscation,
so I'll probably post a photo of those two sweet boys matching soon ^^

Martingale collars? If so, then yes. My boy uses one and I like it a lot. It differs from a choke chain because it has a limit on how tight it can go, while choke chains can get as tight as it pleases. I find it's really good for control!

I love my martingales! They have been historically used on sighthounds, becuase it is easy for them to slip out of normal buckle collars since their heads are smaller than their necks. More recently they become a popular training tool for many dog owners of varying breeds, since like Gamora. said there is a limit as to how tight they can get.
(Also you can find some REALLY pretty designs on etsy. I spend too much money on these dang collars  )

I only saw one picture at first, and I was very confused until I saw there was another below it. XD
But he looks like neapolitan ice cream with his pink dye. I love it.
I kind of wish dobies had any white on them so I could dye Link funky colors from time to time.
Always a tad jealous when I see other pups with dye jobs lol.

I don't like attaching a leash to a collar because it can cause physiological damage to the dog...https://dogmantics.com/is-it-harmful-to-attach-a-leash-to-your-dogs-neck-2/ and since that's the only reason you'd need one I wouldn't have need to use one.

Be sure if you do use one to teach your dog not to pull, and do not leave it on the dog when you don't have the leash attached. I've heard of dog's strangling themselves or being strangled accidentally by another dog, especially when tags are attached to the D-ring. So if you are going to use one, use it for on-leash walking only.

My deepest condolences to your friend on the loss of her dog.

Chloe Update: We went to the cardiologist today. They checked her blood pressure, did an exam, and an echo and said that her heart and lungs didn't look worse from the last exam. The echo showed her heart was a little smaller this time, indicating that her medication is working. There was nothing indicating that is was a heart or lung problem that caused the episode yesterday. What the vet thinks happened is that the coughing she did that woke her could of caused a temporary change in her lungs/blood pressure that could cause her to have a syncope or pre-syncope event. Essentially she likely felt temporarily light-headed. The cardiologist said if it would happen again we could always put her on a Holt monitor to check for arrhythmia, but that she wasn't seeing signs indicating that that was what was going on. So for right now it's just a matter of continuing to monitor her at home and it's a judgement call whether I feel she needs to go to the ER again if she has another episode. I'm glad to have even a partial answer, and to know she hasn't taken a sudden turn for the worse. Next time I'll probably monitor her at home instead of rushing her in so soon, but jeez was that scary.

@fortnite. - Thank you for the well wishes! She is feeling better, though she's tired after a long day. She hate the cardiologist even more then the regular vet because she gets held down for the electrocardiogram, but she did better this time.
