Why does he dislike birds?: His mother was obsessed with wild animals (hence naming him Oryx), and would take care of
them in another colony where everyone took care of animals from Earth. When Oryx was still young, his mom brought home a
macaw, and since then everything went wrong.

-his mom wanted him to be a farmer or an explorer, but he decided to stay as faaar as he can from interacting with birds,
so he decided to become a tech. He has 0 experience tho. And is just pretending he is working meanwhile he is
listening to new bands, and finding memes.

His brain is actually full of knowledge for the outside world, because his mom was teaching him since he was young.
You ask him something about nature, and he will definitely know it. But he hates that he knows it (':

Why does he dislike birds?:

"Good thing that bird hit his face, else he would've gotten away."

Tevenil looked back towards the two guards, and a small bird with an injured wing in a cage. One of them seemed to glare at him as he looked back, hitting him harshly with a small baton to make him turn around. Tevenil growled, feeling an extreme pain on his neck where the guard had hit him. Part of him felt as if the guard didn't understand how much that hurt. He swore it felt like someone has just tried to tear out his flesh back there. It's not like those guards were going to care anyhow. He was being sent off to some sort of prison, not needing a trial for a crime he was caught red-handed in.

It was all that bird's fault. If that darn bird hadn't flown into his face as he was trying to escape, he would have been fine. If only he didn't get a bird crashing into his face and causing him to fall from that wall, then he'd be able to get away and take that money with him. But here he was, in handcuffs, and being taken off to where some prison colony would take him away, or something similar.

He used to like birds, too. Had one as a pet when he was younger, actually. He loved that tiny little domestic pigeon. He did almost everything with him. Unfortunately, the tiny bird had been killed by a larger, more powerful bird after 3 years, which brought Tevenil into a sort of depression that lasted until the end of highschool, when he finally learned to let go and think that his friend was in a better place. That was the first time he even distrusted a bird, but it only got worse as his life went on.

He grew up, became a teenager, and got friends in school. They went to a forest one day, one of the last forests left in their colony, but they got attacked by a large owl. Tevenil protected his friends, but the price was the owl creating a deep gash in the back of his neck, causing him an extreme amount of pain and making his friends have to take him to the hospital in their main city. While it didn't scar over as bad as originally thought, it caused a nerve-based issues that caused Tevenil to twitch sometimes, causing extreme amounts of pain. He'd have this problem for the rest of his life.

But, this bird. This tiny little thing that now was the reason he was going to be put in a prison camp, most likely to live out a life of slavery for his crimes. Let's say that it was the straw that broke the camel's back. After that bird had finally ruined his life completely, he had no more patience for birds.

If only he still had his best friend. That little pigeon he called family. Then maybe he'd have a bird in his life that would make him happy.
