"Like four in the morning. " She mumbled before yawning. She flopped down beside him.

He put his arm around her and sighed. He did not want to tell her what happened at work and make her more stressed out so he just sat there thinking.

"What happened, you seem stressed.." She murmured as she sat up. She looked at him.

"It's just work stuff. I haven't been able to sleep because I have been thinking about it. I don't want to stress you out to so I will figure it out. I also found someone who can watch Emily for a weekend so we could go on a trip or something just the two of us." He said to her.

"Tell me what's wrong Jax. " She said sternly looking at him. "Don't dare say 'Its nothing' or 'Ill figure it out myself' " She said, using her mom voice

Jax looked at his hands. "I got my two weeks notice today. They are closing the restaurant. The owner doesn't want it anymore and none of us that work there have enough money to buy it so everyone has to find a new job. Quite a few people quit today and there are only two of us staying until the end. I am going to start looking for a new job but there are no guarantees I will find one quickly..." he said not looking at her. He felt like a failure.

"We're looking for somebody new to work at the desk at work... if that helps babe. You'd be doing paperwork and you'd be beside my office."

Jax looked at her. "I mean I can apply but I doubt many people there would want someone who used to be a bad guy working at a police station." He said looking st her. "I don't have a lot of job history thatis solid and not illegal." He said looking at her.

"Pffft... I'm doing the interviews for the job. I've already wiped the history away, my nerd skills are great." She smiled softly at him

"Well, I would love the job. I would get to see you a bit more that way most likely. The woman I found to watch Emily can work whenever we need her to. She has a small daycare for autistic children and she seems really nice. She also watches kids over the weekends occasionally to give parents a break." He said to her.
