Name: Walter | Gender: Male
Prompt:
mmMMMMMM reminder; 2000 words!!!
To be honest, all Walter dreamed about is to escape the suffering of his demise. It felt like millions of years ago when he was working in an office for Convey Corps, and the next he signed up to be some sort of lab rat for them; he had signed up for it couple of times and it paid generously. So why not again? Christmas was coming closer, and he needed a bit more money to afford presents for his family. Then next week, he found himself standing in middle of the room with everyone else behind the wall to monitor him. They wanted to test time travel; a hour back at best to recount the steps to prove them that it worked. He had always trusted the corporation he worked for, and all of the tests had been successful.
Unfortunately, despite warnings and instructions; he immediately panicked soon as he saw the world warp around him. It felt like he was being sucked out through a tube at such force. He couldn't sit still; the immense need to escape caused him to claw at the surroundings. It turned out the time travel were like a plastic wrapper, easy to rip through. With the opening, it sucked him out through it. Then he knew his life was in danger when he found himself hundreds of years later in the exact same spot; but remodeled apparently.
Unfamiliar employees staring at him, and then recognizing him as "the man who got taken by the time", and not even minutes; he flickered out. Front of his family's graves, in middle of the horrible war between Aeoria's leader and his daughter, back when nothing else but violence ridden country existed, and... and.. he lost track. He lost track of the time, unable to tell when is when. When was he born? When did he have his firstborn? When did he join Convey Corps? Have it only been a day, or centuries? Is he forgotten or did Convey Corps write "don't be alarmed upon seeing Walter in your timeline; he's lost to the time" in his records?
There felt like there would be no methods to die, even if he had a minute to attempt; he would be teleported back in the time. As if the time was parasite, taking residence in his body, breaking him down bit by bit until he lost his mind. It was torturous, he had a hour in the timeline where his family died, but a minute when he celebrated his child's first birthday. He never figured out what he had done to deserve this. He was a good, hardworking man who would give anything up for his family whom just happened to sign up for time travel testing program.
The only time he had an entire day in a timeline where it was a day after his family died in robbery that went wrong. An empty house, still furnished. He had to know, he gathered every single albums he could find. A flip through them made him realize that not only time had taken him; but it took everyone else's too. The every single picture of him was either flickering out of the time, or gone. Yet his family still kept the pictures as if they had mourned his absence like he died for decades. The joyous writings from his kids about him had changed into sad ones.
"Father haven't showed up for my dance show,
