Shade nuzzled Fox gently, nervous of hurting the young pup. Fox, however, leapt up and batted at his father's nose. Giggling, he tumbled backwards as Blitzen hurtled in front of him, being chased by Cinnamon. The brown pup hurtled after her den-mate, snapping at his tail. "Gotcha!" she yelled as her muzzle banged down on the tip of Blitzen's tail. "You're it!"

As Cinnamon swerved around the den, Sandy frowned. "Dear, could you and Blitzen play outside?"

" 'Course," Cinnamon yelled, dashing out of the brambly den. Blitzen flashed out after her, and pounded aklong the earth, close at her heels. She spun and leapt sideways, crashing into a cat. "Oof," she yelped, crashing onto the ground. An irritated white canine loomed above her. "Oh- Lily?" She stared in surprise at the shaman. Lily nosed her off the crumpled leaves just as Blitzen batted at her leg.

"Gotcha!" Blitzen leapt over Cinnamon and into the medicine den. He skidded nervously to a stop as Milo turned around.

"Lily- oh. Blitzen, why are you here?" Milo stared at the pup, his brown eyes surprised.

Blitzen backed away and skittered out of the den. Cinnamon was being shooed away by Lily and together they crept towards the nursery. "Hi mum," Blitzen muttered as they crept inside. Cinnamon settled down by Sandy's side, curling up against Sugar and Cake. Blitzen went to help Fox wrestle with some moss, and soon they had it torn apart.

Weather:
it is currently summer, as spring hasslowly faded away. it is rather warm and the air is stagnant, lacking a cool breeze. watch out for dogs getting heat related illnesses! dogs will be more common to find on patrols, and birthing will go quite smoothly. Although there are no sicknesses such as greencough or whitecough to worry about, predators have become more common...r.

☆ summer──the remnants of spring are now completely over, allowing for summer
to take its full effect. the heat is now on, so please be aware that heat stroke and
dehydration is a common occurrence... unless your kennel thrives in a much cooler
environment, rather than something humid. medicinal herbs and plants are still av
ailable and plentiful, but they do sometimes dry out and wither.. pup whelping is s
eemingly still active within the summer, so only a little assistance will be needed..

LAST CYCLE:
Tenor shook out his shoulders. His patrol so far had been uneventful, but he still needed to scout out the northern part of the territory. When he emerged in to a clearing, he was met with triplet stares. Three female doberman dogs were there. Tenor felt his hackles raise. "Get off my territory." he growled.

"Make us." growled one of them. The other two peeled their lips back in a snarl, but Tenor could tell from the way the first dog held her tail she was not the leader of this group. The mostly black dog was.

Tenor scraped his nails against the dirt. "Last warning: Back off." "Alrighty then." sighed the first she-dog. With a snarl, she leaped at Tenor. Doing some quick thinking, Tenor rolled onto his back and positioned his paws in the air. When the she-dog landed, Tenor pushed up with all his might, throwing her into one of her sisters. The black one, the only one left standing lunged at Tenor. He dodged and tried to kick her, but she slipped under his kick and rammed her head into his side. Tenor fell over, panting, before the black she-dog pinned him. The two others, who had gotten up, helped.

Tenor growled at them. "I'm a Kennel Dog, so you better back off before I call my Kennel." Incertainty entered the first dog's eyes. "Fruit-bat?" she asked the black one. Fruit-bat shook her head. "He's lying. I know it."

"No he's not!" barked a voice. A familiar looking German Shepherd female launched herself onto the startled Fruit-bat. "And stay down!"

Tenor gazed at his savior for a moment before recognizing here. "Soot!?" he yelped. The new dog grinned. "Hello, Tenor." The first dog growled but Soot pressed her nails to Fruit-bat's throat. "Attack him, and you lose your sister." The one dog, who had not talked yet, pushed the first away. "Alexus, no. These dogs mean business. We should just...go." The two started padding away, and Soot released Fruit-bat. "Goodbye." she spat.

Tenor watched the three leave when he had an idea. "Wait!" he called after them. They turned. "I have a proposal for you...how would you like to join my Kennel?"

Tenor watched as Soot chatted with Mira and Alexus, the two black and brown doberman sisters. Fruit-bat, who had become a Shaman, was out looking for herbs.

Underdog. It's a well-known term to represent something not expected to do something. Such as wining a competition. Or surviving. While that could be used to describe this group, the Underdog name used in this scenario is quite literal.

The Underdogs is a kennel that lives in an network of tunnels underground. The network was once connected to a small-scale military base. However, the base is now abandoned and the remnants of the building are commanded by canines.

The main camp is in a clearing. This is where the dogs sleep, eat, and overall live. There are four main tunnels that branch off from the main area. The north, south, east, and west. Each tunnel has it own purpose.

The northern tunnel leads to the above-ground. This is how the dogs go out to hunt and search for more dogs. The tunnel lets out into their territory. They live in a desert type environment with sparse (but still existing) plant life.

The southern tunnels have holes burst through the ceiling due to lack of maintenance. Prey and dangerous snakes sometimes fall through. The purpose of patrolling these tunnels are to try and hunt prey, kill of any threats, or to scout out their surroundings.

The east tunnel leads up to the main base. This is also how the Underdogs get more members. Wandering dogs from the wilderness or strays from the city a few miles away sometimes enter the building for shelter, where they are found and taken in.

The west tunnel leads to the medic's den. the tunnel collapsed, thus closing off the rest of the tunnel. The tunnel is wide, so the medic stores their herbs and sleep there. There's a room that branches off to the right that their patients stay in. There is also another room that branches off to the right that acts as the nursery. It's sheltered from the rest of the camp. The other dogs stay in the actual clearing (except for the leader who sleeps in a chamber that connects to the clearing).

N Sargent - The head of the hunting patrols that go out the Northern tunnels (also patrols those tunnels)

Most dogs in the group are military dogs (german shepherds, ect). The ranks are very diverse in breeds but small-dogs are rarely seen (except for corgis, because there is a breeder in the city nearby.)

ixxx▬one such pup, however, sat blinking wide eyes up at the three much larger dogs before her. babylon, along with the two newest healers, epione and gunner, were examining the fae, hecate. they were studying her, their jaws parting and closing again as they stared down at the spaniel.
ixxx▬babylon sat back on his heels after a moment, sighing, breaking the news to rutilia; "she's deaf."

pandora, however, felt no qualms about her sisters lack of hearing. the amber-colored fae bounded over, beaming at her sister, flicking her ears forwards and shifting her forepaws along the ground. after a moment, hecate grinned back, and spoke; "mama, can i go play now?" hecate inquired, shooting a pleading glance at her mother.
babylon paused. "she understands you? you can speak to her?" he questioned pandora, eyeing the tiny fae. pandora blinked up at him with wide, innocent child's eyes; "yessir," pandora rolled her words together in her eagerness to escape with her sister. "fantastic," babylon breathed, sweeping his eyes over the pair of spaniels. "hecate and pandora will likely need to be apprenticed to the same warrior, if hecate chooses to be a warrior; a translator is vital for a deaf canine."

epione breathed a sigh as she trotted out of the subway car that made up the camp of the wall street wolves. sunlight broke through a filter of clouds, warming her pelt immediately as her paws crunched on crumbling sidewalks, her tongue lolling.
voices startled her from her peace.
"he is weak," a rumbling tone murmured, a deep influx of words that was vaguely familiar but unplacable nonetheless. "though he still has, to my knowledge, all of his lives, they will be easily stripped. many dogs may not have yet pledged their loyalty; koda, gunner, epione, perhaps, bane, hawkins. tessa and carter oughtn't care much for the shepherd, either; axel will support me, of course, as long as i allow him to kill seeley, that dreadfully annoying rat." a pause, a shuffle of paws. "the mothers will be concerned only with the wellbeing of their pups, i am certain; they will not be an issue."
another voice spoke up, this one deeper than even the first. "i worry about noira and bishop; you have told me that they are the longest members. are they promised to atlas?"
a moment of silence as the question was considered. "they are both smart," the first voice replied. "i believe once they see my strength, they will be willing to change their views. i will let your group do your part, and i will do mine."
it seemed, with that, the conversation was concluded; pawsteps, sounding like more than two dogs, scattered. epione skittered away silently, terror coursing through her. treason? she gaped for breath. should she warn atlas? if she did, and the fact that it had been her came out, she, too, would likely be killed.
epione would just have to keep her mouth shut then.

The Night Wanderers

The Night Wanderers live in the Appalachian Mountains. Their territory consists of mountains covered in trees and small streams of ice cold water. The pack lives a small valley that provides a safe place from strong winds but heavy rain can cause problems.

The pack is quite secretive and only go out at night where the moon's light can guide them. They are always kind to others but do not spend much time with others outside their pack. They do not like to fight and will usually seek out a more peaceful route. They often sneak through towns to hunt in barns or through crops and have no fear of humans but do not like cars or anything loud.

Dogs of The Night Wanderers tend to be larger and more muscular than most as they often have to climb the mountains and swim across wide rivers to find food. Small dogs do have their own uses but are typically not found in the pack. The pack is often on the move as weather changes so all dogs must be able to scale the hills quickly.

I think I'm forgetting something so I hope this is good.

Mod Notes: Also forgot to mention that the group doesnt do the whole 'nine lives' thing. They believe in equality for all.

Nike's head felt like it had been smashed with a thousand boulders. She could hear her blood pumping through her body. Was that bad? Blinking, she looked around. She was surrounded by darkness. Wait, no. There was light. A small opening in the floor about four dog-lengths away. Perking her ears, she widened her eyes to get a better look. Her head was still fuzzy, but that didn't matter now, it would feel better eventually. The fae got to her paws. Big mistake. As soon as she put pressure on her hind leg, pain shot through her body, forcing her to crumble to the ground. Letting out a yelp, she squeezed her eyes shut and clenched her jaw. After the wave of agony had passed, she looked over her shoulder to examine her paw. She couldn't see much in the gloom but she could distinguish her foot, which was pointing out at a slightly awkward angle. She brought her paw closer to her face. It didn't look broken, but she wasn't a medic so it was hard to say for sure. Looking determinedly at the patch of light. She would make it there; dragging herself if she had to! So that's what she did. She propped herself up on her front paws, then, carefully, brought up her good leg, keeping her good paw on the floor at all times so she didn't put weight on her injured one. After that, she closed her eyes and lifted her injured foot gingerly off of its resting place. She held it in the air, not daring enough to touch it to the ground. She waited for another spurt of pain, but didn't receive one. She opened her eyes and smiled triumphantly. But that was only part of the process. Now it was time to move. She took a deep breath and hoped a step. Then two. Then three. Soon, she was hobbling across the floor like a natural. 'If only my training-mates could see me know!' she thought to herself, amusement bubbling in her. Her training-mates. Her memories were coming back! She was training to fight for the humans! Where were they now? Pausing from her journey, she looked around. Now, her eyes were starting to adjust to the dim lighting and she could make out faint outlines of tables and boxes. She was in the main base. Why, though? Had her humans abandoned her? She felt a whimper escape her lips and her ears flatten against her head. 'No!' she scolded herself 'I'll show them! I'll survive here! Maybe even build a pack of my own!' She tilted her nose up proudly and hobbled over to the light. She reached it surprisingly quickly; she had misjudged the distance.

Peering down the hole, she saw a tremendous sight. A stone, no, a boulder! Shining with the light of the moon! Nike tilted her head curiously. Where was the light coming from? She looked up and found her answer. A hole, around the size of the stone below her, opened up to reveal the night sky with glittering stars and a blazing moon. The German Shepherd gave a small smile. She dropped down to the stone, sliding carefully over the tile floor. She landed carefully, avoiding her paw. She limped up to the rock. It was cl clear but not see through, cloudy, even. She got so close that her nose touched it. Suddenly, she felt the urge to wish for something. A dog. A medic. She blinked her eyes open again. The glowing stone was now just white, not reflecting the light of the moon anymore. Looking up, she saw the bright sun. Somehow, she had ended up on the floor. Had she really slept through the night? Sighing, she looked around the chamber. She spotted a tunnel behind her. She got up and, miraculously, felt no pain in her hind foot. Looking back, she saw that it was looking normal again. Shrugging, she wandered down the tunnel, exploring her new home.
