i sit by my little boat, waiting for someone to come along so i can take them out of waterfall and to their new life on the surface. i think everyone's reached hotland by now, though. it's been four hours since anyone's passed.
as i think this, i see a human walking by. this is slightly unusual, as i'd expect the savior of the monsters to be leading the parade to the overworld. "hello," i call to her. "frisk, is it?"

I fell down underground, as to be expected. This wasnt the right AU.. i turn to hear a soft voice, "hel.." "What are you doing here, so early in the game?'

Chara was wandering the Underground, lost in her own thoughts. She could not understand why the monsters wanted to leave in the first place, the humans on the surface were terrible. She was shaken from her thoughts as she heard someone calling out Frisk's name. Frisk? Hadn't Frisk already left a while ago? Glancing around, she noticed that the person that called out was looking directly at her. Chara approached Miri, stopping until she was right in front of her. "I am not. Greetings, I am Chara," she replied slowly. "Have you not gone to the surface yet?"

i coughed heavier as the musk set in, "Excuse me?" a froggit attacked me. [MERCY][SPARE] i felt uncomfortable. "This is not horrortale.."

chara? huh. i could have sworn the human's name was frisk, but no matter. "a pleasure to meet you, chara," i say. "my name is miri. i'm waiting for passengers--i'll be going up last, if at all. this little kingdom has become my home. i'm not sure if i could bear to return to the surface." i catch myself rambling and smile at chara. "would you like to return? my ferry can take you as far as hotland."

She gave a very slight nod of acknowledgement when Miri introduced herself, then listened silently as she spoke. Chara remained quiet for a short while, pondering the question. Should she go to the surface with her adoptive family and have to deal with the humans, or stay underground in her old home, but without anyone to talk to? "I believe that I may stay here for a while longer," she finally answered. "I would recommend you stay underground, the..." She trailed off, realization suddenly hitting her. "Wait, are you a human?"

i smile slightly as i lower my hood, revealing my face. "i am. i've been trapped here for close to five years now, but at this point, it doesn't feel so much like a prison," i say. humans are adaptable, if nothing else. thinking of humans brings to mind my old friends, the pain of their loss brought back by the knowledge that they won't be going back to the surface. we were children, ignorant of what we were getting into, and i might have been the only one lucky enough to survive. "i think i'll remain as well. one could say i have unfinished business."

Muffet stumbled out of the cluster of people in the elevator, gasping for fresh air. She nearly dropped her boxed up goods, but she kept a tight hold on them. After regaining her balance, she straightened up. She started down the colourless streets of New Home, only to be nearly trampled by a horde of people as they hurried towards the nearest elevator. Oh dear god, this is horrible! I'll have to take the long way.
Muffet walked along the road, making out the faint shape of a crowd in the distance. Well, there's everyone else. She mused silently, continuing to make her way down the street. She looked behind her to see a few others who had made the same decision. Turning back to the road ahead, she continued.

Papyrus pushed the door open with his shoulder, nearly staggering under the weight of his luggage. "If only Undyne was here, or better yet, that lazybones." He muttered to himself as he strode through Snowdin, looking around. Everyone was full of hope and joy, their eyes bright and steps full of excitement. It was lovely to see everyone so happy; And in turn, that made Papyrus happier. By some miracle, he managed to make his way to where the River Person usually was waiting with their boat.
Papyrus stood on the bank, looking around. There was no boat bobbing up and down in the flow of the river. "Hrmm, must be taking some other people over. I'll go back and see if Sans is anywhere."
