Lukas’ ears flattened to his head like a horse’s when it was angered, though to even his own surprise the dragon unraveled himself from around Max. His body now curved in graceful arches behind him, promptly sitting down and pounding his wings to the ground again. “Are orders more important than your own humanity?” He shook his head with a calm grunt. “Your attempts at intimidating me are fruitless, and even if I am captured from the outside world again at least I would have had that chance-“ The dragon froze, as if remembering the other was present as well, and stopped to briefly glance at her before his attention drew back to Max. “And what of others of your kind? The last I remember, you humans have interspecies group fights. You are not going to lock up every hated person in the world, are you?” The serpentine dragon lurched forward with a soft snarl after thinking the last part, his jaws clasping in an almost challenging grin.

The man gave a startled inhale as the dragon brushed past him, under his arm. It was not a violent act, which Mathias found mere moments later, but one of hunger. “Hey, wait a second!” He chided, carefully making his way through the building and picking up a sort of container, slipping in a few small rodents that were kept for the smaller beasts and rolling in on the floor over to Lola. It was just like any other toy an animal could play with in order to get treats- like a dog and a near-empty jar of peanut butter. The brunette only hoped that Lola would fall for it long enough for him to get out her real meal. “Look at that, Lola! There’s a treat in there for you!” Mathias encouraged, observing the toy for a little longer as he slowly walked over to the meat storage area. It was a sphere with two separate lines carved around it, one that would open it when twisted lightly to the side. Mathias himself didn’t have too much experience with the contraptions but did remember hearing about how some dragons had been able to open them in rather clever ways.

Lola lept onto the toy gleefully. She rolled onto her back and held the toy above her in her talons, examining and scratching at it as she thought. She had difficulty getting a good grip on any of the parts, quickly realizing how it should open but not being able to execute it. She then turned her attention to the screws holding the device together. She hummed happily as she slipped her talon into one of the screws and slowly split it in half so the screw would fall out. She then busied herself with doing the same to the others.

Vienna hated the human silently, knowing that once she awoke from this stupid sleep, she'd tear into the human. Although, her body was beginning to feel a little better than it had before.

Hailey followed the dragon around the tree, and gasped as it disappeared into a hole in the tree. "Is this your nest?" Her eyes widened with surprise and excitement. Wow! A dragon is actually inviting me to its nest!?

The dragon’s ears went up sharply in surprise, the human’s exclamation catching him off guard. Still he did nothing though, apart from hissing loudly with a snake-like tongue flick. “Fine, if you refuse to help me with this-“ the dragon leaned forward and plucked Max up by the back of his shirt, the “scruff” of the human held by the dragon’s jaws. “Then you will aid me in another way.” Lukas thought, taking off into the air.



Mathias/handler/tags: Lola

The handler let out a chuckle when he watched the dragon play, her movements very much mimicking a cat’s, crossing his arms across his chest. “Aww, you’re so cute... and clever...” the man trailed off, his tone changing once he realized what Lola was doing. “That wasn’t the way the people planned for you to open it, but if it works I guess you get the treat anyway.” Mathias commented and hurried over to the meat cabinet with a woven container. He unlocked the freezer and piled up a few slabs of meat, bringing them out in the basket as quickly as he could and setting them on a cleared counter before going back and shutting the compartment.

Lola devowered the treat greedily one she unlocked it. She released a ha00y sigh before crawling over to Mathias and humming as she rubs her head on his back, trying to get attention from him. She wrapped her tail around his legs in a caring matter and to help make sure that she didnt accidentally knock him over.

Dragonfruit flew around for a while longer before landing on top of one of the buildings. A small smile came to his face as he laid down it wasn't as nice as the rainforest back home, but at least it was something. He immediately started to feel the warmth on his scales and he sighed, closing his eyes.

With an annoyed sigh, Kahiko fly's off, having grown tired of flying in silence next to Fodhr. Kahiko countinues flying just over the tree tops, looking for a place to land. He spots an opens patch and lands with a thud. Kahiko walks deeper into the forest before laying down on a large rock, his scales glowing softly in the shadows.

Backstory
Gali was born into the sanctuary buy a much older female. Her mother managed to carry on to see Gali through her childhood, however she passed away as soon as Gali could fend for herself. From all her mother taught her, and her own need to survive, she quickly rose in power. Being a dominant female, to her, wasn't some 'great achievment'. She wasn't suddenly 'royalty'. She was a survivor. With a good heart who would use her power for good. For the most part (but everyone has little selfish nags, don't we?)

She's indifferent; she'd rather be out but doesn't mind it too much.

Backstory
Unlike his best friend Gali, who is older than him, he was born in the wild. His mother, a 'dream dragon', managed to teach him everything he needed to know before he was cruelly abducted by rescuers. Who did they think they were?

He'd rather be flying about filling dragonkind with dreams other than 'freedom', also he wants out so he can find his mother.

Leo is a shy subordinate male dragon. He is very insecure about... well everything, but especially his looks. He is a
hopeless romantic and falls in love way too easily, but he is very kind and really tries to be social and easy to get along
with. He is afraid of many people but he likes most of the people at the sanctuary because they are very nice to him.

Leo has a strong power, but he is
very non-violent and so he doesn't
know how powerful he really is. He
never really uses his power but he
will if he feels threatened. Leo is
able to control minds. He just has
to look into the other persons eyes
(but nobody knows this which makes
it easier for the powers' bearer to
use.) Leo however only uses it when
he wants someone to not fight him.
He only does it if his life is in danger
though. He has never used his power
outside of those situations due to his
docile nature and his insecurity. But
if provoked he may use his power.

BACKGROUND STORY
Both parents were/are very respected
and feared dragons, so it is unsure why
Leo himself is so insecure. Naturally, he
is only a sub male but his parents had
hoped he would be fierce and use his
power to rise up in ranks and conquer
the dragons in their combined territory
but Leo ended up being gentle and kind
and timid. His mother gave up on him
when his father fled after humans found
them. She blames the sanctuary and says
that it was the humans there who made
him soft. She says they purposefully took
him while he was young and made him
a wimp, a useless ball of fur and scales.

Leo has a handler that he
likes to spend time with
because they are really
nice to him. Almost all
of the other dragons call
him names of poke fun at
him for enjoying a person's
company, but Leo still likes
nice people. He had been
with a wrangler before and
had hated the person, and he
has never been with a wrangler
again because he attacked the
wrangler (this was when he was
younger and his family separated)

As far as the sanctuary is concerned
