In a jungle-devoured temple in India!
Why is this there place of choice?
Because it provides seclusion needed for her, as she's a solitary being, but also has something close to humans as she still needs some extent of "human" comfort, like roof over the head (nobody likes sleeping under a bush in tropical rain!) and safety of the walls. She also loves ancient secrets and histories and likes lying in her den for hours just pondering what the previous inhabitants could have been doing there and admiring the craftsmanship of the elements.

Why is this their place of choice?
Byron lives in the house that he and his kid sister did before the plant blew. He hasn't been able to part with the area, as it has remnants of his kid sister all around, such as her uncleaned dolls, and the toys in the yard. He regrets that he wasn't able to save her, and wishes that instead of having slowly turned into the Sphinx from radiation, he would've died with her.
