Yes, you were. I wanted to show people all the things I expected people to put together to guess my kitten immediately before I revealed it xD

I'm going to run through my clues though for everyone.

I made this dress up scene with "I couldn't have put more hints in this for my 2018 kitty if I tried" written in transparent text. Then this hint was given in a post on the scene:

So...space, underwater, flowers?

Alien flowers from an underwater planet?

One of those 3 things is 100% correct for one of the hints! Though underwater alien flowers would have been super cool...

Now you all know the 'space' part was correct, referencing the stars and moon on the cat. So all the stars and planets in the sky, and galaxy dress up items were referencing that. A lot of the pets in the picture have things on their tails, showing that you should look at the tails (which was guessed here: Forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3824288&p=119038110#p119038110). And the kitten was placed up on the land with all of my past pets that have had fluffy tails, trying to show that it will fit in more specifically with them somehow than the ones in the water.

Then I left this one as my first hint: "My cat does not have yellow, red, or blue eyes"
I didn't think that there were so many of the outcomes with those three eye colors lol. But I did think that the kitten having purple eyes would instantly out me. Not many people posted thinking it was mine, so I didn't want to claim it.

I also specifically posted to look at my past staff dogs saying "I will remind you too that I made staff dogs before I made GH cats, so remember to look at those too when looking for reoccurring themes." I was trying to help people notice my love of fluffy tailed critters. In retrospect, I should have said to look at all of my past pets, to help people find the squirrels I had made.

I also almost confirmed that this one was mine yesterday after Wolven Girl figured out which was mine with good details for why, but there had been so many confirmations, I didn't want to spoil everyone

And now I'll give the short explanation for why I made the cat the way I did!

So first I decided to make a fluffy tail because I hadn't done it since my staff dogs, and I enjoy how they look. I referenced the tail off of the squirrels I made a few years ago since I thought it would look cool having that big of a tail curled over the back of the cat line art.

I actually had a different design before this one that was 100% done. Then I decided I wanted to pay homage both to my older pets, and to a special event that happened in my life. I actually got married at the end of May! And we had a galaxy inspired wedding (check out our cake). I thought it would be cool to tie in the idea of galaxy theme into my cat with the stars and moon. And thus after some tweaking here and there, my squirrel kitty was born!

A fun fact though about me; my husband and I have animal nicknames for each other. For example, I call him a goose frequently because he acts like a 'silly goose'. Well, he likes to refer to me as a squirrel because I squirrel away chocolate in various places (I love it but it takes me a long time to eat it), and I have an appetite that is more fitting to the size of a squirrel's stomach.
