It was the first say back in school after the summer, and of course Cheryl wanted to be here. She enjoyed being in school, it was the one place she didn't have to be afraid of her mother at. She could talk to everybody and anybody. She could do anything she wanted and her mother couldn't terrorize her.

Cheryl stood at her locker waiting for a friend to meet her, she was waiting on Josie in particular. She had no desire to talk to anyone else today unless Jughead, Sweetpea, or Fangs wanted to talk. She just missed spending time with Josie so she figured she would talk to her today instead of waiting around for somebody to talk to her.

used his locker. he figured if he did have something to hide his locker
