Beewhisker gently groomed between the ears of her mate. Ryeflower was watching Emberkit
and Lightningkit play with one another, paying close attention to their movements. Despite her laying
down, Beewhisker could feel how tense the other molly was. It had been a moon since Lichenkit was
born dead, and though the ginger molly still clearly loved her remaining kits, it was clear that she
strongly wished that the third had survived. Beewhisker felt her grief too, but still felt like it was
important that she had her two remaining kittens.

Finally, Ryeflower rose to her feet, and gently herded her kittens back towards the nursery. Beewhisker
watched longingly at her mate disappeared back into the den, knowing it was too crowded for the
large molly to situate herself inside with her. She remained outside the den for a moment, wishing she
could say something to comfort Ryeflower, but she figured the best she could do was provide for her,
and she padded over to the warriors den to gather a few cats for hunting.

Grouseclaw walked shoulder to shoulder with his brother, Willowthroat, following after the clan's
deputy. She had woken them both and asked for them to join her, though he had noticed the expression
on her face. He knew better than to question, so instead, he focused more on his sibling and the
territory around them. It took some doing to get used to living in a proper group, but he was enjoying
it, though he thought his brother might need more of a nudge.

The two could not be more opposite. Willowthroat was soft spoken, even tempered, and disliked
conflict. Grouseclaw wasn't exactly the type to hit first and ask questions later, but he could definitely
be more aggressive than his mild-mannered counterpart. Still, the two of them were inseparable, and
when Grouseclaw had agreed to join the clan, Willowthroat had followed, though he wondered if his
brother was as comfortable with the life as he stated.

He pushed the thought away, and shifted off into the undergrowth, having caught the scent of mouse.
He cursed softly when the creature got away from him as he pounced, and stalked back to Beewhisker
and Willowthroat, pelt warm with shame.

"We all have those days," Beewhisker said flatly, and moved on through the undergrowth. Grouseclaw
exchanged a look with Willowthroat, but said nothing, swallowing and following the molly.

Almost a moon after Snowstar had requested a cat, his wish was granted. A handsome, tortoiseshell tom had managed to sneak into the StemClan camp. "Hello?" he asked Snowstar. He jumped. The tom had surprised him. "Umm...hello." said Snowstar. "I heard that you could help me find a clan from some starry cats." the myster tom mewed. "StarClan?" Snowstar asked. "I think" mewed the tom. Snowstar was excited. A new warrior!He jumped up onto the Addressing Ledge. "What is you name?" Snowstar asked the mystery cat. "Ummm...brick." mewed the tom. "Well then." said Snowstar. "Brick, I assume StarClan told you about the warrior code?" Brick nodded. "Alright then." started Snowstar. He looked up towards the skylight in the camp. "I Snowstar, leader of StemClan, proudly call on my ancestors to look down on this cat. He has learnt the ways of the warrior code and is ready to become a full warrior. Brick, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, protect this clan, and it's members, even if you must give away your life?" Brick didn't hesitate."I do." Snowstar smiled. "Then by the power invested in me, I present to you your warrior name. Brick, from this moment on, you will be known as Ashfall, for the ashes of the old clan you are rising out of and for falling into my life like a gift from the stars." Snowstar touced his nose to Ashfall, who did a odd bow in return.

Snowstar's gaze grew serious. "Ashfall." he said. "I need a second in command, a General, who can control other armies and try to figure out things logically, and prevent me from going crazy. Will you be this General I need?"

Ashfall hesitated. "Isn't that...a lot of power?" he asked. Snowstar nodded. "I know it's a lot to ask from a new cat like you but... if we have any other new member's, a stronger Clan will look better." Ashfall nodded. "I humbly except this position...?" Snowstar laughed. "Oh I forgot! I never told you my name!! It's Snowstar." "Well, then I humbly except this position, Snowstar." Ashfall said, trying to stay serious. "Anyways, do you think we should patrol the borders and go hunting? Maybe we can find new members!" Snowstar nodded at his idea.

"You sure know a lot about the Clans." he told his General. Ashfall nodded thoughtfully. "It's like I just...know." he said.

"Alright then." said Snowstar. "You go hunting, and I'll patrol the borders."

prey, new cats, and new life to your clan: however, those by rivers are threatened
by flash flooding or intense storms. cats will be more willing to join your clan,
and litters will be safer, but cats are more likely to drown + herbs are likely
ruined by the harsh storms.

the next morning was something new entirely; brindleclaw slipped out of his den, accompanied by flurryheart. instead of the morning crickets, cats murmured amongst one another. flurryheart looked to the ginger tom, as if egging him on for an answer. it was quite early for the clan to be building up such a bustle.

and then brindleclaw realized.

there were two cats stationed at each entrance into the camp. the brambles had been set up higher now, and sootstar made a rare appearance atop her rock. the shaman was escorted by two bulky warriors and was sat just underneath the rock’s peak.

“it couldn’t be.” flurryheart mewed softly to herself, not paying attention to brindeclaw’s equally shocked response. the tom gently shouldered flurryheart, as if to get her to follow him. with the she-cat in tow, brindleclaw weaved through the evergrowing crowd and found a seat next to boulderfoot and ivoryfang.

boulderfoot was silent, but the cream molly next to him peeked her head out from his thick fur, meeting flurryheart’s gaze. “you’re wondering too, huh?” she said, her head still resting on boulderfoot’s chest. ivoryfang exhaled loudly, looking to her paws. “they finally figured out who was responsible for all of this. olive, the shaman?”

the grey tom’s fur bulked up, his muscles tensing. he raised his lip in a snarl. “shellskip is going mad over it all.” ivoryfang laid her tail over his, pressing their sides together. this didn’t affect him much as he continued. “he doesn’t know what swanpaw feels, olive’s been cutting their communication all this time. i thought they had drifted as friends-” a growl spilled from his lips, looking around in the crowd for his brother. “olive wouldn’t even let swanpaw get his true warrior name, that’s what shellskip told me.” he was obviously furious for everything olive put his brother through; the entire clan as well.

brindleclaw looked to boulderfoot and his mate. ivoryfang managed to cool boulderfoot off with reassuring purrs and mews; he knew if boulderfoot was this angry now, he wouldn’t want to tick the grey tom off if they were alone together!

flurryheart picked up on ivoryfang’s tactics and tried to mimic her the best she could. she managed to brush her tailtip over brindleclaw’s tail in a sign of comfort; since she was generally paralyzed from the hips down, she couldn’t fully curl her tail. nonetheless, brindleclaw was appreciative of the gesture and shifted closer to the she-cat.

sootstar’s fur prickled as the crowd continued their chatter. with a throaty yowl, she silenced them. “cats of amberclan; we rest now. finally, our nights are quiet. no longer filled with the cries of mourning cats and those who wonder if they are next.” she scaled the rock, now at her clans eye level. “we’re free.” the leader pivoted on her heel now, looking towards the shaman. the black and white tom held his head high, meeting sootstar’s flaming gaze. he bared his fangs to show his determination and fearlessness, which sent the opposing she-cat into a slow-burning rage. she turned again to pace, not allowing him the joy to see her anger.

“olive, you have poisoned cat after cat, planting deathberries and honey onto their tongues just to mask the scent.” she listed his crimes, name after sobbed name. “first, patch. you sent him on his way with herbs. herbs you took the time to stockpile and disguise. he writhed on the riverbanks, olive. mouth foaming, muscles twitching. and for what? to slim down our numbers?” the black she-cat scaled the rock now looking back at the shaman. olive looked down to his paws, as if he were going over the plans that went into patch’s death.

“otterstripe, too,” she growled, sweeping her gaze over her clanmates. “i do apologize, my clanmates, but we must let him know what suffering he has caused to us all.” she dipped her head, eyes shut. she revealed herself at the top of the rock’s peak now, her gaze boring into olive’s skin.

“and blackpatch; could it be the fact that he was onto you, olive? you were quite the conversation piece,” she purred, her tone sickly sweet. “he knew what you were onto, but you couldn’t let him scramble away, hm? get some deathberry juice into his water leaves, give him a few herbs as a souvenir of your visit. kind in the moment? to a blind eye, yes. and then he was found, foam dripping from his lips. you caused his pain, and yet you didn’t dare attend his funeral. he was another victim to you, another cat to weed out. for what? his age? his frame? he was a fine elder; you had no right to take him from us.”

the shaman looked around. rivergum, sunpeak and olivebranch surrounded him, making sure that he had no way of escape. plumheart and pearclaw were stationed in one entrance, tails lashing in sync. cicadaflutter and rhizome held down the second, eyes pinned on olive.

olive parted his lips for a moment, exhaling as he relaxed. he knew he had nowhere to go, thus he sat and waited. he met his leader’s stare and smiled softly, egging her on.

“as discussed with my council, your final sentence is exile. you will be escorted by our patrol to the border; if found just one pawprint backtracking here, you will be slaughtered on sight. we’re kind to an elder, of course.”

the remaining clan cats looked around, a sigh of relief sweeping through them all. for the first time in moons, they could rest. with the meeting wrapped up, olive’s patrol went to accompany the shaman to the border.

foraoise sighed, he was struggling to keep back his mate's kits from running off into the nursery. deataigh had been kitting since dawn and farraige had told him to not let her kits into the den as they were going to be way to energetic and excited about meeting new friends.

"can we go in now?" sneachta pleaded, trying to pull the cutest face to make him crack and let them in, but foraoise wasn't giving in, he shook his head pushing them gently with his tail to the fresh-kill pile. "you have to be patient. a good warrior knows patience is key to survival." foraoise meowed, hoping that would make them sit down and be patient. their eyes lit up and they sat down beside him with their chests puffed out hoping to make themselves look like brave and strong warriors. he quietly snickered at his victory as he stared at the nursery. it was going to get crowded in there soon and he knew the queens would be giving out. maybe he could ask cait to build another den as a second nursery so there is enough space.

"interesting way to make them wait." stoirm purred in amusement as he padded up to foraoise, looking down at the kits who were now play fighting. bán had pounced on sneachta and they both rolled a bit in the dust, turning their white pelts a light brown. "well it worked." foraoise laughed, nudging the pair of kits. "look at your pelts, you don't want to meet your new friends with dirty pelts, do you?" he meowed, quickly the kits realized what was on the line and started to lick each others pelts. foraoise and stoirm both purred in amusement before stoirm padded away towards the warriors' den.

Silverscar held his ears back at the slight wind. He knew that the kits had to get out and stretch, but he was a little worried about some of the younger kits... 'Should Stripekit be out here? They're barely a moon old!' Yet, Reedleap insisted it would be fine. After all, the tom was his father. Silverscar shouldn't question a kit's parents. 'Especially if they're your senior.'
Ripplewish leaned over to give a small comment. "The clouds are looking a little dark.' He said, his voice showing hit of worry as well.
"Should we go back...?" He asked the brown tabby, only getting a side-ways glance from Ripplewish.
So, the three stayed with all the playful kits until Rockkit got washed in by the inching high-tide!
"Great Starclan!" Ripplewish shouted, darting into the water quick. Reedleap seemed stunned for only a moment before he darted in after the kit as well.
"All of you, stand back some more and huddle together. If I have to go in, hide behind those rocks over there." The tom pointed his tail towards the large rocks near the edge of the grass and sand.
Silverscar watched for as long as he could- He could no longer see Reedleap's head over the water, all there is to see is Ripplewish struggling with Rockkit. He too soon went under.
'I can't just stay here!'
He went straight into the water, the sea still being ice cold from leaf-bare. 'Just keep your head above the water...' He chanted to himself as he went against the crashing waves.

She could only think of her terrible dream the night before. Her sweet, loving brother Silverscar sinking to the bottom of the ocean, trying to scream through the water for help... She was still heartbroken about her mother's death, never saying goodbye to her. However, she had to grow up. That dream couldn't have been just a dream... It felt too real.
As she darted through the brush and came upon a familiar shore, she skimmed the waters to see if her suspicions were correct. Her heart beat quicked once she saw the shape of cats in the water, one of them being grey like her brother. 'Oh no!'
She raced into the waters, grabbing hold of Silverscar.
"Tigarbriar?!" He questioned.
"They're done for, you need to get the kits out of the storm!"
"But-!" She cut him off quickly, dragging Silverscar out of the ocean.
As the two came out of the water, feeling heavy drops pound across their already soaked fur, they headed straight for the kits. The group was huddled around Stripekit, looking down on him. "Dude, wake up! They're back!" Mountainkit said, pushing at the much, much smaller kit.
"We need to get him back. Now." Tigarbriar said urgently. The two rounded up the kits, carrying as much of the smaller kits as they could while the older kits ran ahead of them.
"W-Where's Rockkit? And Reedleap? And Ripplewish?" Mothkit stammered, her eyes wide as she ran along side Silverscar. he kept his mouth shut, not saying a word. 'How do I break that to them? Their brother is dead...'

Rosethorn watched the younger kits play around with some bugs around in the den. She turned her head to Blazestar, who was laying in the dirt instead of a moss bed. He still hasn't done much since the huge loss in the clan... 'And the kits!' She mourned for a while, but the she-cat wasn't as emotional as the others. However, something had to be done.
"Clan! Gather around." She called, glancing over to see Blazestar flick his ears in her direction. Most of the clan came foward, a few staying where they were. "I'm proposing to all of you a new rank- I know this is so sudden." She took a breath, then continued. "We're all still feeling the loss of not only two fine warriors, but kits as well! We need better care for our youth." She saw nods amoung the clan.
"Oh yeah? How do you expect to do that?" Deerfeather scorned, glaring up at the deputy. Rosethorn took a breath, then continued.
"We need cats dedicated to raising the kits. Cats who know what they're doing, someone we can trust to risk their life to save any kit from danger." She told the clan. Their eyes lit up, liking the idea.
"How about Silverscar? He almost died trying to get Reedleap and Rockkit..." She heard Splatterdrop suggest. Rosethorn looked over at the tom, her eyes asking if he wanted to.
"I volunteer." He said, standing up tall.
"Know that this job will force you to leave your warrior duties and stay in camp with the kits, non-stop. You will have to learn every herb to help our kits and you will have to advise them and keep them on track to being apprentices and warriors. You still accept?" Rosethorn questioned. She didn't want him to throw away his warrior life just like that if he wasn't ready for it.
"As a warrior, I did not know what to do in helping save not only Rockkit, but Stripekit as well... I don't want anything like this to happen again. I accept my new life." Silverscar humbily stated.
"Well then, Silverscar. You will now be known as a Nurse. You will watch over the kits while their mothers return to their warrior duties. This will save our clan more grief, I can feel it already."
"Silverscar! Silverscar!" The clan chanted. As Rosethorn looked over at Deerfeather, she could see some light coming back in her eyes. However, it was soon cut off as she went back to her nest with a scornful look towards the other queens.
