"let's go!" the viscet said, leading her mom into the rainforest. "but sylvia, I have a bad feeling about thi-" the mom was cut off by the viscet.
"don't worry! the creatures here are friendly! see, like this spider!!" sylvia said. "you don't know that! let's just go back home" her mom said. but sylvia ignored her, and kept going into the rainforest. "sylvia angel myers!" the mom shouted. "get back here!"
usually when her mom called her by her full name, it meant business. but sylvia just went right ahead, ignoring her mom.
her mom, panicked, followed her. she grabbed the small viscet and told her to get back. "sylvia, we are NOT going to be going any further into this rain forest. you got that?" the mom scolded her. sylvia kicked her mom, and sprinted ahead.
her mom sprinted after her, only to be met by one of the jungle's snakes. her biggest fear in the jungle; the green anaconda. she had tripped over it, and now it was coiling around her. "mom, come and catch me!!!" sylvia shouted. "sylvia... get back... here..." her mom could barely speak as the snake coiled around her neck. she knew she would die.
"mom!!!" sylvia screamed, running back to where her mom was. she was greeted by the snake, who was now guarding the mom's body. "mom!!! are you okay???" the viscet cried out. but the mom was running out of air. she couldn't speak. instead, she reached for sylvia's paw, shedding a tear.
and a few minutes later, she was dead. "mom! no!!" the small viscet cried. "....please....come...back..." she prayed. but nothing happened.
"HELLLLP!!" she screamed. but no one could hear her. she ran around, trying to see how to get out of it. the small viscet was in tears.
"...please..." she pleaded.
"I can help you." a voice said. but where? there was no one around her. visible, at least. "I'm up here.." the voice said. she looked up. a ghost was right there. a ghost of a viscet.
"please help me! I'm lost in the forest... and... my mom is dead!!" she pleaded.
"hush... it's okay. I'm here to help you." the viscet said. "just follow me."
sylvia followed the ghost. the ghost told her story to the young viscet, saying that she once lived in Canada, a very cold place. she later went on and said how she was killed by a pack of wolves when she was left alone.
"that's a horrifying story!" sylvia told the ghost. "I know! especially when you experience it first hand.. and die..." the viscet shuddered.

The ghost had led Sylvia back to her tribe. The ghost also scolded her for being careless and being an indirect reason for her mother's death.
"i'm sorry..." Sylvia said. "it's okay.. your mother will forgive you." the ghost said, comforting her. sylvia didn't really believe that right now, but she took it anyways.
"sylvia! where have you been? and where is your mother?" her dad asked. "the rainforest." sylvia said. "WHAT? you're not suppose to go out there without me." her dad exclaimed.
"so where is your mother? you're in trouble." her dad asked. "umm... she's not returning." sylvia said. "what do you mean, miss. you're in huge trouble now." her dad said. she gulped.
"let me explain." the ghost said. "who said that?" her dad asked, a little frightened. "i'm over here." the ghost said.
"is that you, Sari? oh my goodness, you're here?" he asked the ghost. "yep, it's me, sari. anyways, sylvia decided to explore in the rainforest, sprinted away from her mother, and ended up being the indirect reason her mother died. I heard her asking for hepl and helped her back to the tribe grounds." the ghost explained.
"who's sari?" sylvia asked. "sari is my mother. she died of poisoning. and your mother died?" her dad said, trying to hold back his emotion.
"yes..." sylvia admitted. "don't worry, it's going to be alright, sylvia." Sari said.
"i'm sorry..." sylvia said.
