[Pistol Annie #1 NPC]

I’m currently baking a Heart Locket in my kitchen. I combined yellow and orange to get a gold color and inserted a metal ring loop. When it’s done baking, I’ll dry and cool it, write “BEST FRIENDS FOREVER”, glaze it, and put a string through the metal loop.
I’ll post a picture when it’s finished. It’s in the oven right now. A gift for my friend.

Thank you! Here is the steps I followed:

Materials
- Yellow clay
- Orange clay
- A metal loop with a protrusion coming out of it that looks like this: O--- (like a wind up)
- Aluminum foil
- Oven
- Nail varnish or something similar
- Paper clip or some other metal hook thing
- String

1. Mix yellow and orange coloured clay to produce a light goldenrod colour.
2. Use fingers and a hard surface to mold the shape into a heart with both sides relatively flat.
3. Insert the protruding part of the metal loop into the top of the heart where there is an indent. The actual circular part should be the only thing sticking out.
4. Put it on aluminum foil and put that in the oven. Bake on 100-150 Celsius (don't make it really hot) for about half an hour.
5. Let it cool down on the windowsill for half an hour before you touch it, you don't want to get burned.
6. Use a permanent marker to write BEST FRIENDS FOREVER on it.
7. Paint the entire heart with some kind of varnish like clear nail polish to make it shiny.
8. Hang it to dry, using the paper clip, attach it to some object like the neck of your desk lamp, a drum, or a doorknob.
9. The next day (or whenever the nail polish is dry and stable), take your heart locket and thread a string through the metal loop. You can now wear it.

(Optional: You might choose to use a second metal loop, without a protrusion, and link it with the first. Then thread the string through the SECOND loop. This makes your locket able to dangle.)

I'm going to make a Chara cosplay (even though I'm not going to any cons and Halloween is over three months away) and I might use that method to make a locket! :3

I also thought I might share a quick guide on how to make a decent Undertale fan AU! Why?

WHY NOT!?

You'll need:
- A functioning brain
- At least half a imagination
- A place to record your ideas
- Something to draw your concept art on

Step 1. Think about what your AU/Alternate timeline is going to be about. What are the characters like? How is the Underground/world you're creating different from Undertale? Are there any other AU's involved?
Step 2. Jot down some ideas and concepts for your AU. Like the character designs, the plot, any ships ect.
Step 3. Create a name for your AU. This step can be a little hard for some, but most of the time, it'll come naturally, so don't force yourself if you don't have any ideas!
Step 4. Flesh out and edit your original concepts. Stories and characters change a lot as they go through the editing process, so if you don't like something about your Au, there's always a chance to improve your ideas.
Step 5. Finalise and publish your Au. When you're completely satisfied with your Au, you can now publish it for the world to see (or just your friends and family!) This can be a story, a comic, even a recreation of the game if you're a coding mastermind!

Things to be mindful of:
- There are lots of AU's out there, so making a super original one can be tricky! A lot of AU's share the same concept, so don't stress if you take inspiration from other creators!
- If you're featuring other AU's, make sure to get permission from the creator or at least give credit!

Unfortunately the metal ring of my locket broke, it popped out of the clay after I wore it under my shirt as a "test wear" before giving it to my friend. I glued it back into the hole but this taught me a valuable lesson.
When you're making your heart locket, after you insert the metal part into your clay, make sure to squeeze the clay around it so it's tight. Otherwise it might cause problems later. Wear your locket before giving it to your friend, and check to see if the metal ring is coming loose.

The AU guide is great! I'm bound to use it if I ever create an AU.
