Your favorite mythical creature and why: I would have to say a dragon is! I just fell head-over-heels for this Dailo, especially with how much it looks like a dragon. When I was little I saw the “How to Train your Dragon” movie and it lit the spark in my heart! Ever since then I’ve been drawing dragons! Heck, when I was little and we went to a restaurant with kids menus that had games, I would cover them in sketches of the dragons from the movie! So that’s why I love dragons. I can’t help but get giddy at the news of a new How to Train your Dragon movie coming out next spring in 2019!

Your favorite mythical creature and why: I have to say Angels. I love the purity yet destruction they can bring in mythology. And then there are nephilims. Human-Angel hybrids that are born on earth with Black and white Wings that change color with choices they make in life to show their side (evil/good)

Your favorite mythical creature and why: Griffins have to be my favorite; I'm obsessed with Greek mythology, so this creature spiked my interest immediately as a hybrid of two fiercest predators. The griffin is hailed as “the king of all creatures,” and it has the right personality for its title: noble, fearsome, and above all else, protective. With incredible strength, unfailing protective instincts, and a zero-tolerance policy against evil, it is the superhero of mythological creatures. No villain can mess with the griffin.

Your favorite mythical creature and why: It’s a bit of an oddity, but the Manticore is my favorite mythical creature. There are a few different things to be said about the Manticore, in terms of mythology, but most share the same traits that they have the head of a man with three rows of sharp teeth, the body of a lion (sometime with bat wings, but not always!) and the tail of a scorpion, in some depictions able to shoot poisonous bards and others not. Three of the worlds most dangerous hunters wrapped in one being. But, all that aside, this is my favorite mostly due to some lore I had actually written out myself about Manticore; it grew from there into a character that I treasure greatly, in all honesty. c: He’s not a typical manticore, but he is just what legend says about the creature in the sense of what he is rather than who. Still, character aside, the Manticore is an odd, terrifying creature, but sounds pretty awesome. If you’re not the one being devoured.

So I have more of a personal attachment due to sentimentality, rather than whether it looks cool or sounds terrifying.

Your favorite mythical creature and why:
It would be a lie if i said anything other than dragons!

I love to design dragon characters! Theres soo much variation and possible aspects & features you can add to them. Whilst dragons can be a little bit difficult to draw, i find that studying bats, birds, dinosaurs and several reptiles helps you to build up ideas of how they might look. And hey, no-one can say that you're wrong because they don't actually exist, so you can go crazy with the anatomy and nobody can tell you otherwise. Dragons can look cool, cute or utterly terrifying. And you can even pull off all of these things with the same dragon, its all in the expression and pose.

I used to actually believe that dragons were real when i was a small child. Me and my friend used to think that a fenced off area of the playground was a dragons den. We would feel leaves nearby and if they felt warm we thought it was the dragon warming the plants. We would leave offerings of the best and prettiest rocks & flowers nearby where the dragons den was supposed to be, in hope one day we would get to see the dragon.

I also used to watch how to train your dragon (and admittedly still do from time to time. mostly the tv show, i need to watch the movies). I've read some of the books too, but im an awful reader and haven't been able to get past one or two books. I've long grown out of books at that level, and can't really go back and re-read them. I tried to do that with warrior cats too (another series i only managed to read one book of), but again i can't stand the reading level its aiming at. That doesn't stop me being a fan though!

And then my sona is a dragon! I haven't found any dragonsonas around tbh. Anthro reptiles in general are rather uncommon, so im not surprised. I tend to use their 'feral' form more, but a part of their anatomy is that they can change from anthro to feral at will (without shapeshifting, its due to their bone & muscle structure or something like that). like the nerd i am, im working on an explanation on how that might actually work. Anyway my dragonsona is called Quester, they're my avatar.


Well, to sum this all up, I love almost all creatures, reptiles are amongst my favourite. I love to design things and I find that designing dragon characters to be very fun and rewarding. I have multiple influences from my childhood that sparked my love for dragons, including httyd. And somehow i ended up having Quester as my beloved dragonsona, who started off being just another character that i made on one of my design sprees. Im also sort of interested in the myths and how dragon behaviour differs in stories from around the world. Its interesting how dragons are depicted as both violent beasts and wise passive creatures depending on where the story originated from. Basically i love dragons. ^^

Your favorite mythical creature and why: 100% without a doubt: Dragons! My favorite just so happens to be Smaug from The Hobbit, just so you know. I just love the way they look, I guess because I like lizards and they're basically giant winged lizards.

Your favorite mythical creature and why: Sleipnir has to be my favorite. I love horses, and this one is, for me, almost a mix of my favorite Greek creature, cerberus, and a horse. It is magically fast with its eight legs and just overall beautiful and dangerous.

Your favorite mythical creature and why: Ah, I actually have a lot of favorites from the loch ness monster, to Fenir (Father of all Wolves.), and most of the traditional creatures. But, I recently found a new mythical creature that I actually like a lot. It's the Baku, a Japanese mythical creature that devours dreams and nightmares. It's often not a defined by a general look since it's made up of "spare parts.". I always love things that have to do with dreams and nightmares and a bizarre looking creature. They are just so interesting and combind two of my favortie things.

Legend has it, that a person who wakes up from a bad dream can call out to Baku. A child having a nightmare in Japan will wake up and repeat three times, "Baku-san, come eat my dream." Legends say that the Baku will come into the child’s room and devour the bad dream, allowing the child to go back to sleep peacefully. However, calling to the Baku must be done sparingly, because if he remains hungry after eating one’s nightmare, he may also devour their hopes and desires as well, leaving them to live an empty life. The Baku can also be summoned for protection from bad dreams prior to falling asleep at night.

Jackalopes are super fun! They look adorable yet you just kinda' know that they can easily stab you in the shins if they so please. I wish they existed, I'd want at least four.
