These four boys were created from the depths of earth. Emotions joined together one day in the center of a forest over the waterfall named Mystilia. These four boys... They were created with only two emotions in their minds and a luar marking somewhere on their bodies. They were all missing something, but they were taken in generously by the clan of Haikajin. A beautiful home with loving people of all kinds. It was a clan of stature.

Skye was the one who couldn't take it though... He couldn't take being so unhappy. Being unable to smile along with those around him. He had snapped... He gave away his soul so that he could, too, feel some kind of bliss. Unfortunately, that didn't go as well as he had hoped. Naive little Skye had become a man of no mercy. A man who smiled, but only at the feeling of his blood slicing through flesh. Skye had single handedly destroyed the Haikajin clan, and thus, their nameless species gained its name. The Haikajin.

.:The Haikajin:.
The Haikajin are those of emotion. They are confined to two main emotions. They can feel other emotions, but that requires steps, time and stages that are required to be passed. The founders were the ones to figure that out. Skye and Setsuya, formerly known as Kaijin, are the only to remain. These four were created together, so they were not lucky enough as to figure out that time was able to turn them into what they wanted to be. Human. To become human is to gain all your emotions. You lose half of your ability, which may be the power within your marking, or your ability to absorb emotion.

Physical Status: Haikajins have powerful bodies. No matter what they do, they are in top physical shape, as long as the emotion that they rule over is plentiful. If not, training is required to keep strength. Haikajins are unable to get sick of some odd reason. This mysterious species is also able to take a great deal of physical strain. At a certain age, they stop aging and continue to live on.
Abilities: Explained in the stages.
Strengths: Being exposed to the main emotions and the full moon's light.
Weaknesses: The opposite emotion. That drains a Haikajin of their power if exposed to the opposite emtion before becoming truely whole.

The Stages

Infant; You begin your life, the two emotions you are bound to supporting you in your infantile body, your marking not yet developing. For years, this is how you live, looking human. Whether you stay on your own or get adopted, you only experience these two emotions. One more than the other.
Sprout; You become a sprout when your marking develops in a random area of your body, usually in the upper area. You are now able to forge things and summon them to you. Note that you may only summon things that are made from natural ingredients as well as embued with your power. Otherwise, making them vanish or reappear is not possible. You also gain something called a Soul Creature. This is your partner and a little piece of you soul. It can help you. A random animal is formed just before you become a Half. Once you get the Soul creature, you become a Half.
Half; This was originally thought to be whole. When you become a Half, your marking should change colour, becoming just a little brighter or darker depending on you. You can only became a Half if you are exposed to a great deal of a powerful emotion that is not connected to your two main emotions. You will be able to experience more emotions, but your main are still in play and control you most. Your abilities become more powerful just a bit and you gain the capability to listen to other peoples' thoughts. This is called a Mind Spill. This ability is unable to be turned off and sounds just like others are speaking directly to you. So be careful to what thoughts you reply to.
Elemental; This is the final stage. When you are an elemental, you gain an element that is related to your emotion. The listing is below.
Fire: Anger, Love, Hate, Happiness
Water: Despair, Love, Fear
Earth: Love, Happiness, Courage
Wind: Happiness, Fear, Pain
Light: Love, Happiness, Courage
Darkness: Anger, Hate, Despair, Pain, Fear
Time: Pain, Love, Happiness, Fear
Ice: Despair, Sorrow, Fear, Anger
Electricity: Happiness, Courage, Hate, Anger
Human; You become human only if you choose to. One day, you will feel a surge of power from your marking and you must choose to remain as a Haikajin, or become a Human. To do make your choice, you have to summon all your things that you have embued and stab your marking if you wish to be a human. The marking will fade and become white if you choose to be Human. If you wish to remain as you are, you use your element in anyway you can and continue to use your power until the marking stops surging.
Lost; You must have killed another Haikajin or Phantom to have gained this status. You are able to have multiple elements, but you can never become human and you are confined to the emotions that you were born with as well as the emotions that the other Haikajin or Phantom had. Say you are Pain and Despair and you killed Fear and Courage. You would gain those emotions and all the abilities that they had, but you cannot develop them or create new things to summon. This is an undeveloped status, for only Skye had gained this status.

.:The Phantoms:.
Phantoms... Those who have lost their mind to greed and sold away their souls. Horrible fates and minds await these people, but they gain an ability and are stronger than ever before. One person experiencing their emotion could be enough to super charge their abilities. Phantoms have all the abilities of a Haikajin and are much more powerful, but there is a catch... You have to collect souls in order to break your bloodthirsty nature. Usually, only the miserable take to this deal without knowing what they are getting themselves into. It would be wise to find yourself a suitable human to act as your keeper.

Physical Status: Uminaginably powerful, both physically, mentally an energy wise. Sometimes, overdoses of their main emotion inflicted upon themselves can trigger their alternate, meaning their second form, sending them into a rampage to kill, but also letting them experience the emotion that they desire the most. They still have their original marking, but they also have the addition of a curse marking somewhere else on their bodies. Ususlly the upper arm.
Abilities: Same as the Haikajins, but with highly enhanced physical stamina, strength and speed.
Strengths: Being exposed to the main emotion.
Weaknesses: The stage of the full moon. It deeply gives them an overdose of power, partically imobilizing them. They cannot transform when like this though.

.:The Humans:.
One is either born this way or turned into one by completing their goals from their previous stage. These are just normal humans, but they play an important role. They are the power source of a Haikajin or Phantom's powers. It is usually wise to pair up with one to either keep your partner in check. The thing is, choosing the right partner is difficult... If the human is happy most of the time, a happy Haikajin should choose that person as a partner, but convincing them to go with you... That is another story. Phantoms do not require a partner but it would be ideal to keep from killing anyone, if you wish to avoid killing anyone.

Physical Status: If the human is lazy, poor. If the human works out, fit. Just regular, every day humans.
Abilities: If you were formerly a Phantom or a Haikajin, you keep half of your abilities. Which half, that is a mystery. If you were born human, you have no abilities, unless in the pressense of a Phantom or Haikajin. If you are meant to protect that person, you will be revealed to have an element. That element can be manipulated in many ways. Also, you gain a mental link to that person as well.
Strengths: ... That's up to the human.
Weaknesses: Again. Up to the human.

Appearance:
He is usually seen wearing a black jacket with a thin, white collared shirt underneath. He also has a black cloak that he is almost never seen without and a black glove on his left hand that he rarely ever takes off. The fingers of the glove do not exist, so the glove only covers Skye's palm. He wears black pants that seem to be dress pants and boots that look to have been owned by a biker or army man. His skin is pale like he were shut away for years and his hair is so pale that it is white and it is thinned to a point that some of it is translucent. His eyes are cold and gray, just like stone and are frightening and chilling when fixed on you. They seem to almost shine in the moon's light however.
Personality:
Skye is very cold and secluded. His eyes are a stoney grey and mysterious to look in to as well as cold when fixed on you. Skye keeps to himself and is very serious about everything he does. He is always said to be cold and unfeeling since he never jokes or takes anything as a joke. He wasn't always like this however. His past made him what he is today. He doesn't talk about his past unless someone were to gain his trust, which is very hard to do. He rarely smiles due to his cold and unfeeling nature but he tends to remain courteous and very scholarly. Skye is usually placed in the catagory of feared, because of his unusual appearance and the way he does just about anything. The way he speaks makes it very easy to misunderstand which time period he came from. It is like he was new to this planet, or from a medival time period. Skye is really a child at heart though. He does not comprehend most things like the concepts of warmth or love.

-Skye's guitar was made by hand by him and his former foster father from birch bark. A metalic thread that seems impossible to break was used for the strings and makes a much more beautiful noise when plucked than a regular modern day guitar. He carries it with him everywhere.
-Skye makes his own clothing, but his hat was given to him by his foster father, Kai.
-A hand-made guitar strap that holds his guitar to his back is black and embroidered with silver and red thread. Carnations are all over it in silver and the red was used to make the vine-like patterns between the carnations. A white thread at the bottom left read -Skye Akitora- in an elegant script.

Mayia's sky blue eyes glimmer in such a way that they make her seem quite sad most of the time and her expression is usually said to seem unhappy as well. Her skin is pale and fair and her hair is a light brown. Mayia is a bit frail looking, but she has been resolving to change that best she can. Mayia usually wears a white dress with long sleeves with an addition of a silver ribbon tied around her waist. She uses a light blue scarf to tie up her hair to make her seem just a little less innocent... it hasn't worked so far. The silver sash is to commemorate her lost friend.
Personality:
Mayia use to be a timid and shy character, and she still is, but she masks it well now. Around new people, she keeps on a sullen expression to keep them from seeing her fear of them. Only in serious instances, the personality Mayia possessed two years ago would burst forth. Mayia never did like the thought of being alone, but she alone now. She had to deal with it. The darkness had become comforting to her and she became even more reserved after losing her best friend. Every now and then, she will snap and yell at someone because of her pent up emotions or if she is pushed enough, but at night, she is a total wreck, crying alone in the darkness to let go so that she could compose herself in public. She did not want to look weak, but being as pale and frail looking as she does, she is always asked if she was alright... Every now and then, Mayia will butt into people's business if she sees something wrong and will always stop for a stray. Animals are her only family now.
Mayia has a real soft spot for animals. Never will she yell at an animal, and never will she ever abuse or stand by to watch one be abused. She loves them to death, kind of, and has a way with animals other than humans. Mayia actually developed a habit of referring to other people as humans. She never had an answer for why though. She still holds her innocence and is so far back into the past that she barely knows of most modern things.
History:
Mayia was born as a frail and weak baby. Her parents are unknown and her life was spent in an orphanage at the south side of town for about four years. Once she was four, she was adopted by two loving people. Aria, and Kai Akitora. When they came along, she was happy, but one day, everything just... was pulled away from her. They had adopted a boy named Skye off the streets. He had no name until they took him in. Mayia and Skye were pretty close and they even took in a silver wolf pup from the forest that Mayia fell in love with at first sight of the little guy. Sadly, that happy life only lasted for three years. Mayia was too scared of Skye to look back as she ran from that house where he had been the one to murder Kai and Aria. She never knew why, but it felt like such a bitter betrayal. Since then, Mayia had been living alone on the streets.
Mayia been taken pity on by a man who worked at an animal shelter when she was ten and began working at his shelter, earning enough for a condo. She had enough to finally go to school again.
Five years later, a fight her broken out in the halls of Mayia's high school and she lost most of her memories. She was thrown back at the wall, injuring her head severely to a point where she had been in a coma for over a year. Sixteen months later, she woke up with Hunter at her bedside. She vaguely remembered her foster family of three, a mother, a father, and a boy just a year older than her and not one memory came of a real family. She couldn't remember the murders though, and every time she would sleep, she would dream of those horrible murders that she witnessed. She remembered nothing and no one at all except for Hunter, who stayed by her for every second of the day.
Hunter was that a silver wolf pup that she had loved since she was little and had been her best friend for that whole time. They were so close that she could have sworn that they were able to speak to each other. Mayia never felt alone with Hunter at her side day in and day out, but a few days before her eighteenth birthday. Mayia was attacked while on a walk with Hunter through a new area of town just after school. She looked incredibly frail so she was made out to be a target. Hunter had stood up for her and fought for her to get those thugs away from her, getting stabbed once and horribly bruised in the process. Everything seemed fine until they got home. Hunter lost blood by barfing it up and he died on Mayia's steps...
Since then, Mayia swore to stop looking so weak. To change the way that Hunter wanted her to. She wasn't going to let his death be in vain. She wouldn't stop crying for him though. Without Hunter, she was alone. And what was more, it was her fault that he was gone. Now Mayia is nineteen. She tried to be a confident woman and continued to excell in her classes. She ended up being the youngest to graduate her class, but she never made a single friend at school... She was horrified of people since she was could remember. She was just trying to find her place in the world after that.

-Mayia cares for any animals she finds along the streets and keeps caring for them until they either leave on their own, someone adopts them or they die.
-Mayia is gifted with artistic talents. Her voice is heavenly because of it's naturally quiet and soft qualities, but she has never sang in public... Only when she wishes to console herself or her animal friends. She can draw beautifully, but keeps that to herself very strictly. Her drawing are good, but when she doesn't have a picture in mind, she always ends up drawing something disturbing to her mostly, but can't bring herself to throw it away.

Appearance:
Setsuya's hair is a warm brown and his eyes are deep and alluring. His eyes tend to flare is his hate becomes a bit much for him to contain. Setsuya's skin is fair and his build is tough but slender. He gives off an air of elegance and is usually seen in a plain white dress shirt that is untucked. He has to bandage the upper half of his torso to hide his marking, but he doesn't mind it.
Personality:
Setsuya is in a love-hate relationship... With everyone. If he takes a liking to a person, he loves them to death until one little word or action leads him to hate them. If he hasn't made up an opinion about that person yet, he will mess with them to his heart's content. He chose to remain as he was because he loved the rush of his two powerful emotions and hated the thought of being a weakling. Setsuya's true nature is quite snarky though. If he ere exposed to the full moon, he would be more powerful, yes, but he would have a much more superior attitude than usual. He acts like he is the king of the world or something fairly close to that, however he still denies that he thinks that highly of himself.
History:
Most of Setsuya's past is quite bland. For years since creation, he had been wandering all alone, and then when he reached his eighteenth year of age, he stopped aging. He also figured out that nothing seemed to be able to kill him by age nineteen, because he had been caught in the middle of a war. Setsuya has a marking of a full moon on his chest that is a pale blue colour. It seems like a tattoo, but no matter what, it will not come off. In a certain light, it will actually reflect that light. Just to be safe, Setsuya had his chest wrapped with bandages so that if his mark did glow, he wouldn't have to worry about being discovered. And finally, there is The Competition. Setsuya is competing against his three other brothers, Genkai, Skye and Knight, for a chance at humanity. Genkai had already been killed by Skye, and Knight just up and vanished. Unfortunately, Setsuya hasn't been able to find any of his brothers...

Appearance:
Xione is a petite girl, and is usually mistaken for a child. She braided her hair and she is sure to keep her presense unknown. She is stealthy because of her small, agile build and is no taller than 5;2. Xione's skin tone is fair, with the occasional flaw here and there, and her red hair is said to be that colour due to her rage. Xione's eyes are a crimson red colour that strikes fear into the depths of almost every heart, including her own.
Personality:
Tempermental girl... Xione can and has snapped on everyone who has ever called her short, bratty, small, or childish. She has never back down to anyone, no even her parents. When she was born, she was diagnosed with a weak heart, but she continued to fight. They said that she wouldn't last a week after birth, but she did just that and has gained a strong will from going against a docter's will. She is the ruler of her own fate, or so she claims. She continues to be a hard head, but whenever going up against an older woman, Xione tends to freak out. She fears older looking women because of her mother and she is terribly scared of random loud noises, excluding battle calls or gun shots.
History:
Xione grew up in a household that was abusive and horribly suited for a child of her health. She would be beaten for the blasphemy on her right thigh and has been told that she is garbage time and time again. She had been despised by the people of her family and village because of her quick wit and tongue and her urges for adventure and mischief. Xione hated to be alone though... She wouldn't dare to go anywhere by herself, so she took Khana with her the day that the pretty black cat appeared at her side. She was a cunning cat and they had become close impossibly fast.
When Xione turned twenty, and everyone noticed that she wasn't aging, she was accused of being a witch. She would have died if it weren't for a man who was shrouded in shadows, his billowing cloak and velvetty smooth voice never leaving her mind. She searched for him since, leaving her village two days after with Khana on her shoulders. That was the end of Xione's life with her family. She is the only of her bloodline... that she knows of anyway.
