┌──────────────────────────┐Her prey in tow, Amira continued along through the shadowy undergrowth, her eyes continuously scanning the forest for signs of a clan cat. Suddenly, her paws caught on the woodpecker’s limp body, causing her to lurch forward. Letting out a low, mumbled stream of curses, she stopped and looked around for a nice tree to climb. She’d been saving her meal for when she returned to her nest, but she knew she couldn’t carry the large bird that far — her neck was already stiff from the effort, and her hungry belly was growling constantly. Approaching a sturdy oak tree, she took a swift leap up the side of its trunk, sinking her claws deep into the rough bark and hauling herself upwards. It was slow progress given the dead weight of the woodpecker forcing her down, but eventually she scrambled up on a thick and sheltered limb. Draping the bird over the branch, she placed one paw on it and began tearing into its breast, letting the feathers drift down to the forest floor like snow. Amira didn’t particularly care whether the clan came upon her messy feast’s remains, she was one hungry cat and they were surrounded by hundreds of plump pieces of prey; besides, she didn’t hunt on their territory often, only when the pickings were slim outside of it.│

indentAs she ate, she reflected on the scene she’d witnessed while hunting her meal: a morbid slaughtering of an innocent clan cat by a grizzled old tom. The black loner hadn’t been around in the forest long enough to know their names, but the victim’s look of betrayal told her that she knew who was killing her and knew him well. While Amira was interested in the murder, she knew better than to meddle in the affairs of the clan and decided that she ought to keep away for awhile until they simmered down from the event. Movement in the distance caught her eye and she raised her head, her muzzle damp with blood and plastered with down and feathers. Narrowing her eyes, she followed the far-off quivering of bushes and grass that told her something was moving around down there. Was it a clan cat? Raising her muzzle, she parted her jaws and bathed her scent glands with the surrounding area, trying to pick out a whiff of her approacher. Sure enough, the earth-like smell of a StormClan warrior slammed into the roof of her mouth, overlaid by fresh, warm blood. Abandoning her meal, she leapt down the oak with ease and began prowling towards the cat, her movements smooth and cautious.

Greyflower perked up as he heard the voice of Eaglepaw again. Her yellow eyes looked towards the apprentice, and softened. He is very aware of everyone, even me. Eaglepaw is diffidently a good tom, a cat i am sure will be someone other's respect when he is older. She then felt the quick gaze of Elkstrike, casuing her the become straighter and alert. "I-I apologize for not being more obvious. I should have said something, rather then have Eaglepaw say it for me." She then looked back to the younger tom. Her eyes said thank you, but she said nothing outloud before returning to see Elkstride had already looked away, moving his part of the patrol elsewhere.
Again, she felt akward and out of place. Her tail flicked nervously before she awoke from her thoughts and went after Robinsong and Silverstrike's direction.
She was expected, with the rest of the two groups, to find any evidence or traces towards the event connected to Finchfeather's death. The she-cat was young and it just seemed more mysterious then answers were allowing to be given.
Greyflower kept her eyes peeled to the ground, opening her mouth for scents around her. Her ears were a bit back, as the first two senses were her best suit. If the other two she-cats needed her, she'd speak up for sure this time.
Don't be a burden! Do something useful! She spat to herself.
