(parenthesis means that this is out of character chat. used when not role playing on a role play thread. and talking directly to another role-player. their username may be used when addressing them.)
"quotation marks means character is speaking out loud for all to hear."
-dashes around it means character is thinking to themselves, other characters shouldn't know what they thought, but can guess by body language-
if nothing is around it, it means that it's describing something the character is doing, or about to do.
:the colons mean a change in location or time skip. ie. later that day, or meanwhile:

((Sweetpaw and Snakefang found a cat skeleton, that reassembled and started talking. Duskpelt, the skeleton, then used his awesome powers of rejuvenation to give himself a fur coat, and a beating heart.))
