Traitor

Adult (3.5 Years)

Belgian Shepherd (Malinois)

Stage 3

Slow Time. (Basically can see things in slow motion for a short while.)

Traitor was a born and raised military dog, his name was not originally Traitor, but Heeler. He was an excellent dog at work until he witnessed the death of his owner. His career ended after he became distressed by the noises around him and in blind panic, he bit his new handler. Heeler was instantly dismissed of his duties and renamed to Traitor.
Traitor was retired and re-homed as a pet at only 3 years old. He lived alone with a single human who treated him very well and he cared for a lot. It was while in the care of this human that Traitor became sick with the Nine Virus. During the hysteria, he was locked in a cage in the shed all alone.

Name: Gypsy
Age: 3 years
Gender: Female
Breed: Mutt/Mix
Virus Stage: 4
Ability: The only way to descibe it might be "hallucinations" or "mirages." Gypsy creates fake, shimmery images that look like they were created from dew to confuse pursuers and enemies. They are of no harm, though, whatsoever, and are only used as a distractions while she runs away. The images are clearer when there is more moisture in the air.
Background: This little pupper had a good home, for the most part. She was well taken care of by an older couple, and she was good company for them and they were good company for her. They were very worried about Gypsy when Stage 1 of the virus started to affect her. When Gypsy moved on to the second Stage, she ran. Scared of what was happening, having heard rumors about the virus, she thought she might pose a threat to the elders who had taken care of her for the past few years. Gypsy later ended up on the island with the other canines.
Other?: Gypsy didn't get any extra 'strength' from the virus; in fact, quite the opposite. She's quite a scaredy-dog, honestly. Gypsy hides behind others and trusts them to take care of problems involving fighting, or standing up from herself/themself. Going through the 4 stages of the virus has given her a sort of constant anxiety.

Tall, and jet black except for her tail. At the tip, its a creamy white that fades to gray, and then, eventually, the stark black of her coat. Gypsy has large, wide ears and a long muzzle that ends in a small, dark gray nose and a mouth full of untypically dull teeth. Gypsy's fur is relatively short, it used to be a bit longer, but it stuck at this. Her legs are long and nimble, good for running. The fur under her tail is slightly longer than the rest, ad it droops down from the tail. Gypsy's eyes are a cold icy blue.

Name: Alusia

Age: 3 years

Gender: Female

Breed: German/Husky Mix

Virus Stage: Stage 3

Ability: Alusia has the ability to read minds for a short period of time. After each use of her ability, Alusia could either have massive head aches, dizziness and the possibilities of fainting or falling into a coma if she uses her ability to much in one day.

Background: Alusia came from a family of four. Since the virus broke, Alusia's family up and left her on the streets in a large city to fend for herself. This made Alusia feel abandoned and couldn't trust any humans after her family leaving. She soon became scrawny and sickly looking from lack of food until humans captured her and transported Alusia to the island with all the other canines. She has yet to figure out which dogs she can trust and perhaps form a friendship with them.

Appearance: Alusia has the mixed body build of a German Shepard and a Husky. Her eyes are a bright blue color symbolizing her Husky traits while her coat resembles more of a German Shepard color with white and grey from the Husky on her chest and belly. Her height is the size of a full grown German Shepard.

Name: Messiah- 'Iah'
Age: Four years
Gender: Male
Breed: Shiba Inu
Virus Stage: Four
Ability: Emotional Empathy- Iah can sense the emotions of those around him and at times can slightly influence them. Mostly through soothing intense emotions as Iah is often calm himself. Whether it be irritation or anxiety or anything in between just being in his presence can make things seem just a little less intense and a little more manageable.
Background: For much of his life, Iah has been a companion and little else. He was adopted by a small family- just a mother and her teenage son- when he was six months old. The son in question, sixteen when Iah was adopted, had always had really bad anxiety compounded with recent depressive episodes and his mother hoped that the pup, easily the calmest of his litter, might be able to help him in some way. The reasoning she would give for naming him 'Messiah'.
For the first few months things were shaky, Iah didn't fully understand his new master- Sebastian- and often made mistakes that led to finding himself out in the yard- often being brought back in by the mother when she returned home from work. Still he was an intelligent pup, and slowly learned the dos and don't around the teen. Eventually he found himself kicked out less and less, and Sebastian often found himself talking to Iah- and in fact was the first to shorten his name to Iah at all. He always thought the name Messiah was a bit silly. By the time Iah's second year was coming to a close the two were bordering on inseparable, and taking him for walks- while not a cure by any means- at least gave his master a way to get out of the house a bit and to even start talking to other dog owners.
His master tried to hide him in the panic that the Virus brought on, knowing full well that Iah had contracted it and fearing that others might take him away if they learned of it. They did. Iah and Sebastian both fought back when they tried to take him and though Sebastian was easily subdued, the men daring to lay a finger on him just enraged Iah more- but it was in vain and he found himself on the island regardless.
There is nothing he wouldn't do to find his way back to Sebastian once more.

Appearance: Iah stands at about 13 inches, on the small side for a male of an already fairly small breed. This doesn't stop him from commanding a strong presence in groups however. Between his developed ability and his unfazed nature he tends to have a constant air of calm about him that can help to soothe anxious or irritated individuals in his vicinity, which lends itself well to being a mediator in arguments.

Name: Riley
Age: 4 Years Old
Gender: Male
Breed: Dutch Shepherd
Virus Stage: 4
Ability: Bone Claws and Teeth - Riley has the power to summon extended pieces of skeleton from his maw and paws. His fangs grow up to eight inches in length when they are needed. The bone is incredibly strong, sharp and easily capable of piercing flesh. His claws grow up to four inches and can be retracted until required. His claws are razor sharp, and can do serious damange if used correctly. These cause Riley immense pain as they grow from his bones, and are quick to be unleashed. His claws can be retracted in seconds, but his fangs take up to minutes before returning to normal size. Riley’s capabilities are not to be underestimated. They are extremely fragile, and require a lot of responsibility. He knows the dangers of making a mistake, So is careful with his actions.
Background: Riley grew up on the streets as a stray dog. He spent his life surviving alone, eating scraps from rubbish and fending off vicious packs. As a violent illness set in, Riley cowered in the refuge of sheltered allyways, struggling to live on in his weakened state. As his illness cleared up, his life returned to normal. Except fellow street dogs began to avoid him. It was weeks later did he first discover his abilities. After a scorching period with no water in sight, Riley happened to cause a rain shower within his vicinity. Humans tracked the source of this strange happening and he was taken away, dumped on an island with what look to be others of his kind.

Appearance: A large dog with a black base coat, large pointed ears and a broad muzzle. Riley has deep golden eyes and brown brindle markings that cover his entire body. Around his face and eyes is a jet black mask, which spreads to his throat and chest, ending at the top of his forelegs. His build is strong and broad, well adapted for fighting, and capable of taking down larger prey.
Personality: A ferocious male with a powerful mind. Riley isn’t a dog to back down from a fight. His street Years have given him the skills and mindset he will need to survive this island, and he isn’t afraid to prove this. He isn’t directly aggressive to other dogs, but isn’t entirely trusting. While he won’t attack or hurt another without good reason, he won’t let his guard down. At least not immediately. He’s never truly bonded with another before, and because of this, his social skills are limited. But befriend him and you have a loyal ally for life. He will show signs of protectiveness over those he cares about, and will do everything in his power to keep them safe. Stick with him, and he may even show you his humorous side.

Ability: Extreme hearing and sense of smell - Skye can detect sounds up to a mile away, even further depending on the volume. As well as this, she can pinpoint an exact location, based on what she hears. This allows her to track prey, or warn others of oncoming danger. Her sense of smell also happens to be incredibly strong. Like her hearing, this allows her to detect approaching threats and easily find prey. However, her gifts do have their flaws. She has grown sensitive to loud noises, and these can cause her physical pain. Toxic plants or animal scents may also cause temporary blindness.
Background: Skye was a herding dog, and grew following strict rules and training. Because of this, she is likely to do what someone tells her, due to her traits of following others rather than leading. As she grew ill, her owner regarded her as unfit to do her job, and she was dumped on the side of the road. She was found by a group of students and taken to the vet, where she was tested. Upon discovering her disease, she was sent away to an island where she is surrounded by others like her.

Appearance: Skye is a lithe female with a slender and agile build. Bred for endurance and speed, she is a runner at heart, and can cover great distances without tiring quickly. Her coat is a blue merle, with white markings covering her chest, hind legs, neck and face. Her eyes are a a pale blue and her nose is a light pink.
Personality: Skye regards her abilities burdens rather than gifts, and since her illness has dropped in confidence. Her abandonment has impacted her greatly, completely ruining her trust in humans. While she is wary around new dogs, it doesn’t usually take her long to warm up with them. Skye is a smart female with a silver tongue. She knows what she has to do to survive here, and is willing to do what it takes. While she can be at times, fiery and opinionated, she has always been known as a dog who keeps to herself. But this doesn’t stop her from trying to make friends. She isn’t a very confident dog, and can be a little sensitive with her feelings. The smallest things can deter her, and she takes insults to heart. But she will never hold a grudge, and is very forgiving.
