plexes. unlike his siblings, ander i

kes to think he sees the bigger picture, and often steps in
as the voice of reason, giving council to his older brother
at every turn. truthfully, lysander is better suited to rule,

and everyone knows it. but ander is accommodating to a f
ault. he would follow authority even if it meant comprom
ising his personal morals. he's read enough history to know
what happens to a royal family when the status quo is cha
llenged. he's sensible, intelligent, gracious, and kind. but j
ealousy and pride are his downfall. he loves his brother an

e thought of it falling to an enemy kingdom because of his br
other's immaturity eats away at him. he feels like he had to g
row up rather quickly, and many of the responsibilities of the
heir fall on his shoulders, but he gets none of the recognition.
he's a remarkably patient young man, incredibly slow to ange
r, and has a knack for breaking up fights and keeping the peac
e. his heart goes out to the princess and ladies of morland, a
nd he'll do absolutely everything in his power to make sure th
ey feel as welcome and comfortable as possible. he's spent hi
s whole life fixing things for other people, keeping everyone i
n line and happy - his only respite has been in his studies: he'
s truly a romantic at heart, and loves to study poetry and the
stars. he's the type of person who gives his all to the people h
e loves, even when they're not giving anything back.

cassius ) - neg - ander's feelings toward his older brother are...complicated. he r
emembers a time when he thought the sun revolved around cas. he adored his bro
ther, and thought he could do no wrong. but now, he just doesn't understand. cas h
as the world at his fingertips, and he does nothing with it. ander feels loyalty to ca
ssius's position as heir and future king, but he also feels like his brother abandoned
him, and that ander has been forced to watch him make a million mistakes. lysand
er simply can't tolerate watching cassius self-implode - not when aurelia and ellam
ore will end up as the casualties along the way.

elyana ) - pos - when given the option, ander always chooses elyana. she's the li
ght of his life, the apple of his eye, there's no one he adores more than his baby s
ister. if he could give her the world, he would. she makes him feel at home, unde
rstood, and heard. she's the only person he would ever defy authority for, and he
dreads the day she'll have to leave him.

isabelle ) - pos - honestly? isabelle terrifies him. he's been on her bad side a hand
ful of times over the years, and it's not a fun place to be. that being said, when h
e's in her good graces he enjoys her company. they're not especially close (mostly
because ander can't keep up with her) but she can always make him laugh.

rowen ) - neu - ander and rowen are on good terms, though he can't help but wi
sh the knight wouldn't indulge cassius so much. rowen is too rough, too rowdy for
ander to really want to pursue a friendship with him, so he chooses to admire him
from a safe distance. the only time they really engage socially is when they train
together.

ellamore ) - pos - his heart breaks for her, really. he immediately recognizes her s
weet spirit, and hates the thought of that being broken for a life of duties and me
eting someone else's expectations. but he understands she has a role to play, as th
ey all do. he already sees her as a sister, and just like he would for elyana, he wan
ts to do everything he can to protect her. over time, he would love to win her trus
t and friendship.

florence ) - pos - ander liked her from the moment he met her. she's an absolute d
elight, and she just makes him feel at ease. something about her makes ander wa
nt to see her succeed at everything she does. although ander isn't attracted to wo
men, he knows he'll have to marry some day. if it were up to him, he'd choose flor
ence in a heartbeat. she's very dear to him.

celestia ) - neu - ander doesn't trust celestia as far as he can throw her. he's imme
diately worried about having two unpredictable nobles bouncing around the same
castle. that said, ander is a bleeding heart, and truly wants the best for her. his w
alls would crumble the moment she came to him needing help or comfort.

ivan ) - pos - ander and ivan have a lot in common - a duty to peacekeeping, a
sense of honor, and a steadfastness. ander has a lot of respect for ivan, and hones
tly wishes they were closer in station. he would love to see ivan climb the ranks a
nd succeed. he believes ivan would make a great noble, and will definitely be put
ting in a good word to the king to see what can be done. whether or not they'll ha
ve a friendship remains to be seen, but ander is open to it.

ulted someone/doesn't understand why someone is unhappy). It's not to say he doesn't care when someone is h
urt, however he doesn't always act to save the situation. He has a lot of opinions and expresses himself depen
ding on whether or not the situation calls for doing so. Ivan's not easily attached and is adaptable with a very y
ielding approach on life.

fect sister in law to be. they are very alike, and spend a lo
t of time together. a little blonde duo, wearing their gowns
and enjoying themselves - even if she can't get her to borro
w some of her more extravagant gowns, fitting for a would-
be queen of aurelia.

florence [🗸] it will take some time to get past the bad blo
od that has settled between their two kingdoms. but when
they do, ely is firm friends with flo. after all, she will likel
y stay here with her princess, and ely might as well make f
riends with her. they get on like a house on fire, and ely en
joys spending time with her. she even sees flo as a sister sh
e never had. after all, she has grown up with hardly any w
omen of a similar age around her. therefore, she will try to
be open and polite when florence arrives with the morland
group, and welcome them with open arms.

celestia [🞨] true to the hate that brews between their ki
ngdoms, ely takes an immediately dislike to celestia. she i
s obnoxious and rude, and in ely's opinion is entirely unsuit
ed to be a lady of a princess, much less the lady of a futur
e queen. she makes her feeling about the lady more than k
nown with sour looks and snide comments. it is an insult th
at such a woman has been allowed not only to attend the m
orland court, but to be a member of this party when she sh
ould be representing her country.

ivan [🗸] ely is keenly aware that she is far above ivan in s
tation, but she does hold some respect for him. he is, afte
r all, a man clearly devoted to his crown and country. he h
as left his home to guard his princess, though ely is sure no
harm will come to anyone in the party. as times goes on, th
ey will be spending time with each other, as he guards ella.
over time, she will no doubt become friends with him, as t
hey share many similarities and it can't hurt. they are abou
t to be on the same side.

prince cassius [🗸] even though her brother is the oldest
of the aurelian heirs, ely rather finds that he is the least
mature. she has lost count of how many times she has lo
st her temper at him, especially when it comes to his lib
ertine ways. he's seduced a number of her ladies, his eng
agements notwithstanding, and now that he is due to be
wed for the fourth time, and with such high stakes, she p
rays he will have some sense. however, she loves him wit
h all her heart - he is her brother, and she knows how sca
red he really is. she's spent too many nights comforting h
im as of late to not be privy to his secrets. for now, she h
opes that he will grow and become the king he needs to b
e, for his family, his new bride, and his kingdom. they nee
d him if they are to survive roan's threat.

prince lysander [🗸] ander and ely are undoubtedly close.
they have many of the same hobbies, and can often be fo
und together in the library, reading or complaining about
their dear older brother. however, they do have their diff
erences - ely is more outgoing, and she isn't scared to spe
ak out if she finds reason to. she is also a better dancer, s
omething she teases him about. if she were on the throne
she would make sure to listen to his words of wisdom. she
is beyond glad that they are siblings, and would do anythi
ng to protect him.

isabelle [🗸] the lady in waiting is one of ely's oldest frien
ds. ever since she was old enough to be out of the nursery
she has had need of an entourage, though isabelle is her
closest friend. if ely is not with ander, she is sat with izzy
gossiping like fishwives and admiring the many single men
at court. however, as close as they are, she is jealous of h
er friend too - she may marry whoever wins her favour at
court, while she, a royal princess, must be married off to
the highest bidder like a prize sow at a market. still, they
are best friends, and ely is grateful for her when she gets
too worked up.

earthen colours instead of gaudy dresses
and her effortless tenacity. it does not ta
ke much to set flo off - whether someone

or a spiteful woman is talking behind her
back, but still flo loves to laugh. and her
laughter is a tune that someone would lo
ve to whistle to.

a different perspective to things, and even then they are n
ot always appreciated. many a time someone thinks her ru
de and insolent due to her differing opinions, something fl
o is secretly bitter about. she has a tongue she will not hes
itate to use in her defense and offense. cross her once, an
d she will unlikely ever trust you again. this makes her very
unforgiving and while she holds grudges, it will be up to clo
se ones to mellow her out. flo brings about a vivacious, nat
urally humorous persona, who will laugh at anything and ev
erything. one can often find her stopping by for a funny qui
p or remark. this used to come off as inappropiate to her m
other and fellow ladies of court when she was a child, and t
he older flo grew, this relaxed confidence was quickly assu
med as arrogance. till now she has never quite got over oth
ers calling her that. her memory is a blessing as well as a sin.
