brookheart while hunting finds a disgruntled and soaking wet medicine, she claims to be sent her from starclan. brookheart brings her back to kestrelstar, the molly voicing her discontent which island setting, and she is welcomed into the clan.

weather: leaf-bare.
during leaf-bare, the chances of catching greencough is higher. if you send the same cat out multiple times in the same post, they are more likely to catch a cold, which can lead to whitecough and greencough, so be careful. after your cat catches a cold, don't send them out for two posts, or their cold will progress to whitecough or greencough. the sun will start to go down early and it will get colder once the sun starts to go down. you will also catch less prey and are less likely to find new cats.

Cougarpaw slunk through the dry grass of the hunting grounds. This was his final assessment and he was NOT going to mess it up. He gulped and placed a paw down carefully. He twitched his ear as he spotted a mouse. He moved towards it and leaped, clearing the ground between him and his prey, and landing on it. He bit down, killing it swiftly, and standing proudly. “Good start!” He mumbled through the mouse, and walked off to find his next piece of prey.

”What!? Come on I totally did better than you!” Shadepaw snapped at Graypaw. This little pipsqueak passed and he didn’t? That was just a fleabag move. Well... his hunting actually wasn’t the best. Huh... ”Uh hey... shouldn’t Harepaw be returning by now?” He added on before flinching when Batstar yowled our for a meeting. ”Here is your answer big guy.” Graypaw replied before he and the rest of the clan gathered. By the looks of Batstar’s face, this wasn’t good. ”I am sad to announce that Harepaw failed to complete his ranking up ritual. Though not only that... he has also sadly passed away doing so.” The clan gasped with horror and wails and hisses rang out. Though the clan was silenced when Mousefeather started to cry. Right, she had a huge thing for him. Graypaw knew this is where he could win her heart over. As cruel as it was... couldn’t hurt to try right? He walked over to her and gently nuzzled her in a comforting manner. ”I know he meant a lot to you. He was a pretty good guy. I’m sorry for your loss Mousefeather.” He mumbled. Mousefeather didn’t seem to catch I to his trick and cried into his fur. She didn’t even care that for once he was being nice as she was still in shock over the news. ”Reedfire and I have grabbed his body and buried it. To the ones who’d like to visit, I can guide you there to say your final goodbyes. As because of this, no apprentice will be holding the ritual until new-leaf arrives. Meeting dismissed.” Batstar hopped down and awaited for any cat who wanted to follow. Mousefeather dashed over and so did a few other cats. Once they left, the clan was dead silent.

Reedfire was still disgusted that he had to bury a body. Why him out of all cats? He was the deputy and all but still. Batstar was just weak anyways. He was snapped out of his thoughts when hearing kit squealing and looked over seeing Acornkit and Sparkkit racing on over. ”Dada we caught a bug!” Acornkit meowed our proudly. Sparkkit was holding the giant beetle in her jaws. Reedfire was actually quite impressed. Not because they were his kits but they were three moons old and already hunting? ”Wow there kits! That’s amazing! You should go ahead and tell your mother as well!” he exclaimed just about beaming with pride. ”Ooo yeah mama would love to see this!” The little tom kit answered before he and his sister raced off again. Reedfire only chuckled softly before turning around to face Snowwhisker. ”Hey Snowwhisker, what’s up?” He asked before getting a bit nervous. She didn’t look all that good. She looked worried. ”You alright there?” Snowwhisker shook her head and mumbled, ”Batstar likes me... I don’t want to be his mate. I don’t like him at all.” She sighed out. Reedfire’s eyes narrowed as he looked at the leaders den. Even though he wasn’t here at the moment, he would give a talk to that guy. ”Hey don’t worry Snow. I’ll protect you. You’re my friend after all.” He responded with a smile. Snowwhisker smiled before she looked behind him. ”Reedfire... someone is flirting with Lightberry.” The deputy snapped his focus to face the direction where she was looking at and lord and behold, there was the fleabag Acornfur flirting with Lightberry. Though it seemed like Ivystone was trying to get him away from her.

”Come on Ivy it will just be one outing!” Acornfur signed out before he was slapped. ”She said no Acornfur. Leave her alo-“ The three turned to face Reedfire who was growling at Acornfur. Quickly the male shoved him to the ground and pinned him down showing dominance. Seemed like the tom got the message and he got up before padding off. Lightberry immediately nuzzled the deputy ecstatic that he was here. ”Light, did the kits show you their catch?” He asked. ”Certainly! Those little rascals are gonna be hunting pros! They’re showing the whole camp now as well.” Lightberry responded. Ivystone was still watching the two before she cleared her throat. At that moment she remembered about that kit she saw with Badgerfang. ”Lightberry, you’re good with kits right? Maybe you could help me with something?” She asked. Lightberry turned herbhead and nodded a yes. The two said their goodbyes and padded off.

”You kits are gonna be an apprentice any time now! Listen to me, when Acornkit and Sparkkit become apprentices, you keep an eye on them. You make their lives miserable. In this clan, we don’t accept forbidden kits got it?” Deerheart snapped to his kits. Berrykit and Cherrykit looked a bit uncertain but nodded anyways. If Cherrykit could admit, she found Acornkit cute. Berrykit even found Sparkkit to be cute as well. The two padded off leaving Deerheart with a smile. He walked away before seeing Sharpfoot talking to Otterfang. He pushed the tom away before sitting down next to her. ”I owe you one Deerheart.” The she cat mumbled with a small chuckle. ”Yeah yeah we all know you like Frecklefur. He’s a cool guy. Tough, loyal, yep.” Deerheart responded with a small chuckle. ”Certainly. I just wished Sharpfoot would leave me alone. I know he likes me but I don’t want that fleabag near me.” Otterfang added on with a small sigh. ”Kind of like how Snowwhisker doesn’t want Sugarleap around her?” The tom asked earning a laugh out of the female. ”And just like how Orangefang despises Saltwhisker. She’s crazy over him but I heard he likes toms. I’m all for that. Anything to see that annoyance of a cat’s feelings to be crushed to bits.” The two looked over after hearing a scream and saw Saltwhisker grooming Orangefang who seemed heavily disgusted by it. ”Those two sure have some relation huh?” Badgersnarl asked with a huff. Soon even Sneezecloud and Lionhop padded on over. ”Guys uh, should we help them guys?” Sneezecloud asked nervously. ”Nah. They’re getting tangled in each other’s fur! Look at those two. A hairy mess huh?” Lionhop laughed before getting shoved away by Badgerfang.

xxxxTawnyspark shivered as more drops of rain fell steadily, beginning to soak her ginger fur. The leaf-bare wind chilled her to the bone, and she stepped closer to her mother to press against her thick pelt for warmth. Daisyskip turned and licked her forehead.
xxxx"We'll find somewhere to stop soon, sweetheart," she promised.
xxxx"How do you know?" the young molly mewed flatly. "We've been walking since sunrise, and we aren't going to find any shelter before nightfall on this mountain. No trees, no rivers anywhere. Whose idea was this?"
xxxxDaisyskip sighed, "Tawny, I'm sorry. But please calm down, everything will turn out okay -"
xxxxA shrill yowl sounded from the group's left as four cats leapt at them from behind boulders, followed by six more. A huge brown tabby threw himself at Daisyskip and Tawnyspark, catching the latter's muzzle with his long claws. She yelped and stumbled backwards into a growling calico, who then bit down hard on the ginger's tail. Tawnyspark whirled around and lunged at her, but the rogue was far too quick, easily knocking the young molly off her paws when she landed and viciously tearing at her belly with her claws. She could have slashed the ginger's throat without a problem, but she chose to prolong the pain. Her green eyes shone with a malicious glint as they stared into Tawnyspark's amber ones. The warrior struggled underneath her, using all her might in an effort to push the calico off of her, but it was no use. These rogues were incredibly strong. Their muscles could clearly be seen, rippling under their skin. Scars littered their bodies. They were an intimidating force. Tawnyspark felt her own strength abandoning her as blood began to form a pool around her.
xxxxShe, along with the rest of her group, would have undoubtedly perished had Foxpounce not been able to reason with the rogues. When a yowl sounded for them to cease their battle, the calico, expressionless now, immediately left Tawnyspark and trotted toward a large black tom. The ginger molly tried to stay awake to listen to what was going on, but the loss of blood was too great, and she slipped into unconsciousness.
xxxxWhen she came to, Blizzardstone was standing over her.
xxxxOh, thank StarClan, the white molly signed quickly, you're okay. I wasn't sure if you would wake up soon, and it was beginning to scare me....
xxxxTawnyspark gave a small smile. I'm alright, don't worry. Where are we?

xxxxEyes widening, the ginger signed shakily, Are you serious? We can't live with these savages - they almost killed the lot of us! We have to get out of here. She struggled to lift herself off the rocky ground, and within a matter of seconds fell back down.
xxxxTawny, be careful! You can't get up yet, alright? You'll hurt yourself.
xxxxWe need to go, Blizzard.
xxxxNo, we don't. The medicine cat sat back on her haunches. They have promised to protect us. Everything will be okay, don't worry.
xxxxTawnyspark could feel the panic rapidly building up inside her. She curled into a ball and squeezed her eyes shut - but after just a moment they were wide open again. Every time they closed she could see that calico staring at her with that sinister look in her green eyes. This was just too much. They had fled their disaster-stricken Clan, were attacked by vicious rogues, and now were supposed to live with them. A lump formed in the ginger's throat. She clenched her teeth, not allowing a sound to escape her when tears began to seep into her cheek fur.
xxxxShe felt Blizzardstone curl up next to her and lick her tears away. Pressing her forehead into the younger molly's chest, Tawnyspark risked closing her eyes to sleep with the hope that her dreams wouldn't be haunted by those glinting green eyes.

xxxx"Hey Tawnystar..?"
xxxxThe leader jolted awake at the sound of the mew from her den's entrance.
xxxx"Sorry to wake you," Coalstorm apologized. "You were whimpering quite a bit in your sleep and I just wanted to check on you."
xxxx"Oh, I'm fine, don't worry," Tawnystar assured her deputy as she got to her paws and stretched. "Have patrols been sent out yet?"
xxxx"Just a border patrol. They left at dawn, should be back any moment now."
xxxxAfter nodding in acknowledgement, the molly asked, "Would you like to join me on the hunting patrol?"
xxxxCoalstorm smiled. "Of course."

Morningcloud twisted to groom her belly, trying to get the fur to lie flat among the mild bulge of
her stomach. She felt lucky to have been let into the clan, but the tabby-and-white leader had
seemed more than happy to welcome her, as well as her kits, telling her warmly that young faces
were especially welcome in camp.

The medicine cat, Tipwhisker, had been sure to look after the queen, carefully looking her over and
sparing a kind word for her. It made her happy to be so welcomed, and one of the other mollies,
Ryeflower, had even come to share a rabbit with her. The only tom among the group had even gone
so far as to build a secure den for her. She felt safe and warm, and it was certainly much better than
being alone out in the wild.

She peeked out of her den, looking across the clearing, and watched as Adderstar brushed her cheek
against Tipwhisker's, before padding out of camp, tail high. Morningcloud smiled at the affectionate
display, and then curled up best she could without her belly getting in the way, falling into a light doze.
