MistyClaw watched as OwlStar called a clan meeting. There was a murderer in RiverClan and they had to be stopped.
“Cats of RiverClan! There has been a murder here in RiverClan, and this we cannot stand for!”
Murmurs of anger and fear rose throughout the camp.
“I have not heard of anyone say that they know who the murderer really is, so we must take a vote.”
MistyClaw felt a sigh. At this rate they would never catch the killer. Deep in thought of how to vote, she heard her name called. Again, and again. She bristled.
“Why do you think I would do it?!” She already felt as if she was with her back against a wall, and she pawed her way out of the crowd.
MistyClaw tried to find a friendly face among the crowd, and yet all there was, was WillowKit who didn’t seem to know how to vote either way. She was cute and innocent. ...She would have been spared.
MistyClaw found that the cats of RiverClans eyes were almost like claws in themselves. The only answer to her question were hisses and growls.
“RiverClan, you’ll see what I did! I helped removed the rogue flea-bag from the camp! He did not believe in StarClan- how could he?!”
OwlStars voice from where he still stood called from above the crowd of angry cats. “MistyClaw! If this is true, then you have forsaken GrassSnake to a death without StarClan. This is not your call to make! He was a good warrior. Leave the Clan, now, or we will not hesitate to show you the same treatment you have shown him.”
MistyClaw hissed and thrned around to leave. Once she left the territory, she found herself among a band of rogues, despite all she had worked for.
Many moons later, she found herself telling her new friends: “we need to purify the world of those nasty Clans.”
