It has become a known rule throughout the many universal clusters that Optimus Prime in his many forms simply cannot stay dead. Many MacGuffins, miracles, and other improbable events have aligned in his favor time and time again, divine intervention keeping his presence a constant.
However, the theory of multiverses implies that somewhere out there a universe exists where Prime's revival didn't occur. This is one such universe, a part of the Transformers Prime universal cluster. In this universe the Forge of Solus was unable to revive Optimus Prime after his death, leaving the inexperienced Smokescreen to inherit the Matrix and the remaining Autobots to mourn their fallen leader.
The roleplay begins in the aftermath of the episode Rebellion, with the Autobots attempting to fix their situation and the Decepticons beginning Project Predacon.

3. I'm not asking you to write a novel with each post, but try to give the rest of us something to work off of when we respond. I can't even begin to tell you how hard it is to respond to one liners.
4. Shoot me a PM if you want a plot twist in here, please don't just throw it in without warning
5. You're free to play canons, adapt transformers from other continuities, or play OCs, but I'd prefer if everyone snagged a canon to keep this from being suuuper OC centered.
6. All sexualities and gender orientations allowed! Any OOC intolerance in that regard will get you kicked from the roleplay.
7. Disable signatures in the roleplay thread, pleeease. I understand if you forget, just go back and fix it once you notice.

To describe the situation as 'completely and totally fragged' might be a bit of an understatement. Ultra Magnus' plan had, on paper, looked perfectly fine - Ace was to join Arcee and Bumblebee in storming the halls, eliminating the Vehicons and eventually making way to the power cores to help Ultra Magnus take out the fusion cannons. Although, maybe it only looked fine to him because he was utterly hopeless when it came to strategy. Regardless of his arguable lack of talent in the realm of foresight and complex planning, even Ace was perceptive enough to see the problem once it came to fruition: while he was exceptional when it came to hand to hand combat, his ranged skills we outright non-existent, rendering him a massive ankle weight once the Vehicons started taking cover and firing in the narrow halls. There simply hadn't been enough room or opportunity to maneuver and get close without risking being shot by either friend or foe, nor could he risk his Minicons in the fire fight. So, when the time came where the three were surrounded by a large group of Vehicons, he had little choice but to follow the others' lead and raise his servos in surrender, leading to his current position knelt at the bottom of Darkmount with the rest of the Autobots.

Imitating the irritated huffs he often saw from humans, Ace directs a glare in the direction of their captors, though his body language doesn't quite match the hostility in his optics, every bit of plating on his body pinned down to make himself look smaller and less threatening. "Why the frag did we think that was a good plan?"

Brainstorm was far from a fighter. True, he fought in the war just like many other Autobots, but it was safe to say that despite making the weapons, it was better for everyone if Brainstorm weren't the one firing them. An amazing aim does little to help when paired with the simple inability to properly pay attention to his surroundings for stretches longer than a minute in length. In fact, he had, on at least one occasion, mistaken one of his own comrades for a Decepticon in a moment of both inattentiveness and excitement. On his behalf, however, he had argued that, perhaps, if an Autobot didn't wish to be mistaken for a Decepticon that he shouldn't have a primarily blue-ish purple paint job.

Needless to say, Brainstorm had been promptly banished from the front lines, a sentence that carried over when he found and joined Optimus Prime's team. Ratchet, in his opinion, wasn't all too unbearable, though he did find him a tad dense when it came to discussing his recent theories and schematics.

.... okay, maybe a lot dense, though he still wasn't quite as dense as the humans. As far a Brainstorm could tell, those human "Children" were only beat out by actual neutron stars. The very humans who he was now stuck with, observing the failure of a mission via a console. By the Primes this was dull. Reaching over Ratchet and children alike, Brainstorm flicks a button to activate the comms for the group. "If I have to sit here and watch all of you whine like rusty joints my processor is going to melt. You have guns, shoot them or something!"

Right now all Starscream felt was the absolute smugness of victory. Sure, he had made several mistakes in deploying most, if not all, of the army at once, but it had paid off after resulting in the capture of a majority, if not all, of the remaining Autobots. As an additional bonus he had gotten to witness Shockwave's beloved pet mongrel get tossed to the further point of the Earth. Any day where Shockwave failed was a good day, in Starscream's opinion. Oh, he was overjoyed enough that he could very well do for a few acrobatic aerial maneuvers but alas, it was neither the time nor the place for such frivolous actions, so instead he settled for a flutter of his wings and a condescending smirk. How would he rub this in Shockwave's fa- er, singular freakish optic - later? Maybe he could take it even further and rub this victory all over Soundwave's stupid facial screen, too. It'd been a while since he had something to lord above Soundwave, so it would be a nice change.

"I do love when a plan comes to fruition. Which Autobot will we execute first?" He glanced between Soundwave, Megatron, and a nearby Vehicon, flashing all three his sinister grin before finally landing on Ultra Magnus. Ultra Magnus seemed like the most likely option here, given proximity, but, perhaps, they would execute all of the others and make him watch, just to watch all hope fade from his optics. Decisions, decisions.

[Kia_Bee]

"All of this could have been prevented if you guys had just let me fry them, but nooooo. Why listen to the Wrecker, right?" Spitfire replied, obviously annoyed. She had went with Ultra Magnus, Arcee, Bumblebee, and Ace on a mission that had worked...until those stupid Vehicons surrounded them resulting them in now being prisoners. Being a Wrecker, Spitfire just wanted to do what a Wrecker did best; blow the Cons back to the Pits they crawled out of. She vented out a sigh, silently thanking Primus that at least her twin was safe away from this danger. Not that Tink couldn't handle herself(she was a medic after all, which meant she knew how to cause some pain) it was just that Spitfire was a little too protective of her since they took their roles in the war. Tink was her only family thanks to a split spark and curse Unicron if she wasn't going to even sacrifice herself to make sure Tink stayed online. Her optics flicked up at Starscream, hearing him talking about which one to offline. That was the last straw for her. "COWARD!" She spat, getting to her peds as she stared into his crimson optics despite the height difference between them. "You don't even have the parts, you sparkless, pathetic, pile of slag!" She knew that she was WAY out of line and if they ever survived this she'd get an audio sensor full from Magnus, but right now she didn't care.


"Brainstorm, they're outnumbered. There's nothing they can do." Tink said. It pained her to say it, but no matter what situation she thought of the end result still ended in what she feared. She looked at her sister from the console with sadened optics, knowing that this would probably be the last time she saw her. Primus, they had been through so much together and have gotten out of worse situations than this but now...now that might not happen again. Tink's optics widened a bit as she felt Spitfire's anger through their spark link. She turned to the console just in time to see her sister yelling at Starscream. "Spitfire, what are you doing?!" She exclaimed, forgetting her sister couldn't hear her.


Orion blinked a few times as the door of his escape pod opened up to blinding light. He shielded his optics as he stepped closer, looking out into the strange new world. Strange tall green things with brown bases surrounded him while various sounds echoed around him. His auto-fins twitched, trying to pick up anything that sounded remotely like danger. Nothing. Good, that meant that he hadn't been followed or signal tracked yet. Orion took a step out of the pod...only to trip on his peds and land face first into the ground. He picked himself up, spitting out dust and small green things from his mouth. "I'm okay." He said, breaking the silence around him. He looked around again before venting out a sigh. "Great Primes, where am I supposed to go now? All I know is that I have to obey Steelblade's order but how can I do that if I don't even know where I should be going?" He asked.

[Amethyst The Gem]

"Optimus Prime is dead. Our leader is dead, and now I'm a Prime." These thoughts had been racing through Smokescreen's mind, as he made his way to Darkmount. "Why wouldn't the Forge work?" Despair was rising within his mind, grief and fear, as well as regret. "Maybe if I had grabbed the Forge sooner......"

But everything within his mind halted when he got within view of Darkmount. He skidded to a stop, and transformed. "They.......they attacked Darkmount?" He whispered in disbelief, staring at all of his comrades, who were surrounded by 'Cons. "Oh no........." Not even taking a moment to think, Smokescreen ran, then took to the skies with his new wings, which he had been reluctant to use up until then. "Megatron!!!!" He yelled, landing in the throne room and standing to face the Decepticon leader. "For the endangerment of human lives, for your part in creating war on Cybertron, and for many other crimes, You. Will. Pay." Gone was the rookie of the past. There, in that moment, was only a furious, yet uncertain, Prime.

Scratch that, his previous assessment that the situation was fragged beyond belief was an understatement. If there were a word beyond fragged to describe the situation he definitely would've elected to use that instead. Alas, any such word evaded his memory at the moment. What he did know, however, was that Spitfire was going to get herself offlined at this rate. Somehow he doubted that being the 'bot who let his teammate commit self termination via Starscream' would be a good look on his career.

However, before he can speak up on the matter of her seemingly suicidal behavior, something colorful catches his optics.

... something colorful and flying.

"Oh frag no. Why him?" the words are mumbled under his breath, Ace slowly rising to his own pedes and nudging Spitefire with an elbow. In the moment he forgot about the blades attached to his arms and the potential pain they might bring, but as far as he cares she'll get over it. There were more important things to gather their attention at the moment. "Spitfire, tell me my optics are glitching. Please."

"It doesn't matter. If they're going to be cornered and useless they could at least be interesting about - wait. Shut up." With a shushing wave of the hand, Brainstorm turns his full attention to the particular blip on the console - an Autobot blip, and an airborne one nonetheless. Ratchet had noticed it about the same time that he did, commenting on the impossibility of the blip in question. Brainstorm's assumption was that Ratchet's comment was about its flying nature in particular which seemed incredibly foolish on his part, considering his company. "What good is a medic who can't even remember the alt modes of his allies? But I can't blame you, Ratchet, not everyone can be as good as me in their old age." Giving the flying blip one last tap, he turns his attention back to Tink and the screen earning her distraught comment. "Oh, finally. She's doing something interesting. Well, what are you waiting for? Use the comms. Tell her I need to know how Starscream's eyebrows stay attached. For science."

Well, his comment certainly seemed to strike one of her nerves. Which Autobot was this, again? He could've swore this was Arcee, but at the same time, Arcee was blue. Maybe she got a new paint job, it certainly didn't seem like that big of a deal for the Autobots. Really, Starscream didn't care enough to bother recalling which Autobot was which past the ones who could prove of some use to him. So far that list was fairly short - leaders such as Prime and Ultra Magnus aside, the only ones who really stuck in his memory were Keita, Cliffjumper, and.... Hmm, no. That seemed to be it.

Regardless of who in particular this Autobot was, Starscream was definitely going to milk her anguish for all the amusement he could get out of it. After all, an Autobot who goes offline screaming gives a stronger message to all the others. Giving her only his most condescending grin and chuckle, he leans down until he's at her optic level, his face just a bit too close for comfort. "Me? A sparkless pile of slag? Funny that you might say that, because I'm certainly in better condition than some of your friends. What was the red one's name again? Skiffthumper?" he accents the intentionally incorrect name by tapping the central ridge of her helm with a nasty talon, soon straightening out to his full height and looking down on her, wings flared out for the intimidation factor. "If you join your friend and kneel before me I'll even consider letting you offline first."

Given that the "friend" in question just stood up, his demand certainly holds less weight. What was the oaf even talking about? Something in the sky? Impossible. All of his Seekers were defending Darkmount, they shouldn't be wandering about. Yet, despite his certainty in this, Starscream turns to glance at the sky, brows furrowed as he squints at the figure flying by. "I feel like I should recognize that color scheme. Definitely not one of mine."

Spitfire snarled at Starscream, clenching a servo into a tight fist. Oh how much she wanted to fire punch that smirk right off his face plate. Most Autobots knew not to push Spitfire too much because of her temper, and Starscream just double crossed the line by getting Cliffjumper's name wrong. Now he wanted her to kneel without a fight? "I WOULD NEVER-!" She started to yell before Ace nudged her, causing her to look at him. She looked to the sky, squinting before a smirk slowly appeared. "They're not, Ace. I see him too." She replied. At least they still had hope.


"Brainstorm!" Tink yelled at him in annoyance. "This is serious! Our friends could be killed and-wait did you just say a flying Autobot?" She asked, stopping mid-rant. "Are you sure it's not Wheeljack's ship?" She asked as she walked over to investigate.

Megatron // Tags; Everyone

Besides the ever present, ever intimating scowl, not much could be perceived from Megatron's grey faceplates. He knew of course that the Autobots would take on such a foolish mission such as this eventually, it was inevitable that Prime's underlings would lay low too long, too attached were they to this primitive planet. It was also expected that they'd not see their mission through, the Decepticons outnumbered them 100 to 1 and desperation was a pitiful motivator.
Ignoring Starscream's high pitched rambling and the feeble yells of their prisoners, Megatron clenched his fist and let the long grey blade slip from it's sheath with a click. "I grow weary of you Autobots, if you cannot tell me where Prime is, then none of you are any use to me." he snarled, red optics blazing with a deep hating fire. "Starscream, stop wasting your time taunting the prisoners, execute all the Autobots and fire the canons at any metropolis within their sights-"
But before the order could be finished and the war lord see to the deeds being done, a strange and yet familiar mech skidded to stop before them, the sun behind him and a sharp light in his optics. He spoke and Megatron just watched for a moment in silence, and then he laughed. Harder than he had in a while actually, "You Autobots are more deranged than I thought if you think you can attack a Decepticon fortress successfully, and now you challenge me directly." his optics became dangerous again and he aimed his canon at the Autobot grunt, "An Autobot's longing for illogical heroism never ceases to amuse me." and he fired the gun straight at the mech's spark chamber.

Soundwave // Tags; Everyone

Soundwave, ever silent and ever still, watched and listened, evaluated and drew up conclusions. He knew the instant the systems detected the second human cellular device that something was askew, that the Autobots were up to something; he also knew Starscream would never make the links of course, but the Air Commander would pay. Not only had he allowed the Autobots an attempt to attack Dark Mount by emptying it of the Decepticon forces, but he had left The Harbinger abandoned and wholly ready for just anyone to come along to use. Soundwave would never have made such a mistake, and like usual, he was the one to fix the mess the Air Commander has made. At least, someone was in his place and by his orders.

Sparrow Hawk//Tags; Everyone

The information had come through very quickly and already Sparrow Hawk, a small black dragon with bright golden optics, was en-route to obey the orders accompanying it. So the Autobots hadn't stayed in hiding after all, they'd decided to crawl out from the rocks they were cowering behind and attacked Dark Mount. She was almost impressed with their strategy, or more their ability to fool Starscream into emptying the base and allowing them a way in. But of course they had been defeated and she could only snarl to herself and shake her helm in mock disappointment, the femme couldn't believe she had missed the chance to make mince meat of Prime's precious underlings and wipe them off the face of this planet with a single shot of searing dragon fire...
Well, almost missed her chance. Another would arise soon and she'd once again prove that she was better than what they thought she was. Better than that mockery of a dragon Predaking, who she'd heard been flung ungracefully through a ground bridge to another continent. Idiot.
The femme shook her helm and cloaked herself in more shields than could be counted, masking her signal, life signature, and even her heat signature from all and every scan. Her optics dimmed and so did her biolights, causing her to vanish. Drifting upwards into the clouds, the femme prepared herself as she neared her target.
