The younger pups rushed in and found a few bar stools to sit on. They was excited to get their treat. Alessa was much more reserved as she walked in with Mary. As the family ordered what they wanted, Alessa was unsure of what to get. She read the menu over and over, but she just couldn't decide.

"If you have two flavors you want, you can get a scoop of each. You can also ask for samples if you are still not sure." Jake said to her quietly. He wanted her to be comfortable. He knew she was a lot more reserved and he hoped that he could get her out of her shell a little more over time.

[Boomer]

Alessa was becoming flustered as she just didn't know what to choose. It was stressful for her to make decisions on her own. Cybil went to suggest something to her, but Mary put a paw on her daughter's shoulder. She didn't want the pups to lead Alessa to a decision; it was important for Alessa to pick all on her own. "M-maybe a sundae?" said Alessa quietly, still unsure, "Chocolate ice cream with fudge and Oreo cookies?" She wasn't sure if that combination was good or not.

Jake was glad that the other pups did not interrupt. He knew that Alessa needed to make decisions on her own. She had to learn how to do that with small things so she could learn to do it with big things. Jake smiled when she picked. "That is really good. I am sure that you will like it." Jake said to her before he ordered for the two of them and paid. He gave her the sundae when they handed it to him. He started to eat his own ice cream. It was really good. He was glad that they had come here.

[Boomer]

Alessa nodded some as Jake told her it would be good. When she got her ice cream, Alessa took her time eating it. Mary and her pups got their ice cream not long after Jake and Alessa got their ice cream. They also took their time eating; the pups didn't want to get a headache from eating too fast. Mary would pause in order to check her phone every few minutes. She never liked being on her phone, but Maria had her worried.

Jake ate his own taking his time too. He hated the headaches that ice cream could give him. He ate silently and looked over at Mary. He could tell she was worried but he knew it would be okay. He looked at Alessa. "How was your sunde?" He asked her.

[Boomer]

Alessa was still the first to finish, even though she was eating slow. She looked to Jake and nodded. "It was good." she said quietly, "How about your's?" The pups soon finished, then yawned and stretched. It was getting close to their nap time. Mary still had a good amount of ice cream left as she stared at a text Maria sent her. She stood up and briskly walked outside without saying a word. "Mom?" asked Cybil, looking to her mother. Cynthia and Vincent looked concerned as they turned to Jake.

Jake looked at Alessa. "It was good. Thanks for asking." He said and then looked at Mary as she ran out. He was just as confused as the pups but knew he should stay with them. He looked at the pups. "It will be okay." He said to the three. He was not really sure but he wanted to keep the pups calm. "Let's clean off the table so we can go when your mom comes back." He said and started to throw the trash away before waiting for Mary to return and tell them what was going on.

[Boomer]

The pups were reluctant to move from their spots. They collected their garbage and threw it away. They returned to their seats as Mary came back inside. "Everybody needs to get into the car, now." she said urgently. The four pups raced from their seats and went to the car. They got themselves into their own seats as Mary made her way back to the car.

Jake looked at Mary. He was worried about what was going on. He got up and walked with the pups to the car and made sure that they were all in their seats and good to go before he got in. He waited for Mary to get in and drive. He hoped that everything would be okay. He was glad that he got the pups to clean up their mess before Mary had come back.
