Pepperstar blinked with disbelief at the apprentice raising her voice at her. "I wasn't talking to you, Foxpaw. Crowflight told me that it might be an option to not kill the badger and see if it could be of use to us." She said calmly, trying to hide her trembling voice. Whenever badgers were mentioned, any cat who had lived through the badger invasion had a bristling pelt. They knew one thing, and one thing for sure: Badgers could not be trusted. "We have to stay calm, but we have to think fast." She reminded, and then looked at Crowflight with uncertainty. "I'm not sure..." She sighed. On the inside, she wanted to kill that badger, giving it a slow and painful death for what its ancestors did, but shook her head. She had to think rationally.

Foxpaw glared at Peppersong and sat down. "It wasn't saying that at all. It was just hungry." she muttered.

[Wanderer.]

Sunpaw managed a weak smile at Silentpaw, difficult with her gasps and shaking, but enough to show she wasn't giving up yet. She was exhausted, but afraid to sleep incase she never woke up.

Silversong lagged behind a bit, trying desperatly to think of someway to help Sunpaw, but feeling terrid that she could only try and help, couldn't get rid of it by herself.

Wolffang was half way back to camp before he stopped and set Hollyfur down carefully, checking she was still alive. He sat down to rest from a moment, sniffing the air for any signs of danger.

"Well I don't think we should kill it slowly, we should give it a quick and fast death. It would seem cruel to kill it that way when it cannot lift a paw to defend itself, in battle is different, they deserve to suffer then but now.....well it just doesn't seem right." Crowflight was surprised at what she was saying, she dispised badgers and would kill anyone of them that stepped in her path, but killing them when they couldn't fight back? We do have to kill it, but I think we should do it in the most civiliazed way possible, otherwise, how can we call ourselves warriors? We kill only to protect and feed the clan. Otherwise how are we different from them?

Silentpaw purred in relief and stayed by her side, her bright blue eyes watching her breathing

Pepperstar narrowed her eyes at Foxpaw, giving her a warning expression. It wasn't a good idea to anger the leader when she was in this mood. She nodded her head slowly. "I agree with that. It cannot defend itself, but it has no explanation for its action. We are doing the clan well if we kill it. If we leave it alive, it could be of danger later on for our clan mates, especially the kits. We must protect them." She meowed with determination.

"But we can't kill it!" Foxpaw cried out, "It has kits to get back to and feed." She looked at the badger again, then looked down. They wouldn't kill it if they heard what I heard! she thought angrily.

[Symphonia]

Pepperstar's anger erupted on the inside, but she toned it down as much as possible. "Silence!" She hissed. "It may have kits to feed, but do you think that it will just walk away if we let it go? It will come back for more and more, and possibly kill our own kits and other clan mates in the future! Leaving this one badger alive can lead to a second invasion. I know you don't know of the horrors of the first invasion, but I'm not about to let that happen again!" She yelled, her voice rising with fury. She didn't like to yell at her clan mates, but she had to make sure Foxpaw understood what she was trying to say.

Raccoontail pushed his though the ferns and stood by Foxpaw's side. He had heard everything and was hunting when he caught the scent of badger. "It would be better if kill the kits too. Otherwise they may go up and be a danger to the clan" He said slowly to Pepperstar, casting a sympathetic glance at Foxpaw.

Foxpaw looked at Raccontail in horror. Kill kits! But thats against the warrior code. "But, but that wouldn't be fair! They're just kits!"
