Tigerpool giggled. “Well look at you, Mr. Eager Clan Warrior.” She purred “Maybe you could teach me your ways of functioning with a lack of sleep.” She brushed against him and flicked under his chin with her tail.


Sorrelwing-she-cat-hunter

Sorrelwing filled with joy and affection. She finally had a kind and loving mate. Of course, she had only been a hunter for a little while but ever since she was a kit she dreamed of having a large family. Nodding she walked back to camp with him, tails swinging behind them. As soon as she reached the camp enterance, however, she pulled away, giving him a happy yet somber look.

As the two cats padded along the well-trodden path, Nightstorm, albeit reluctantly, drew to a stop as his Sorrelwing pulled away as they stood just beyond the barrier around camp. Taking note that she looked a bit somber, the dark pelted tom frowned slightly in thought - he couldn't - well more like wouldn't - let his mate be anything less then relaxed and happy. The hint of a frown on the toms face was quickly replaced with a small smirk, tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Hey there." He meowed as optimistically as possible, playfully prodding her shoulder with his left forepaw. "It's all going to be just fine - don't worry." He promised her, his voice as steady as he could manage.

A purr rumbling softy in her throat, Dawnfeather smiled at Lionsplash as he started grooming her. "Their all perfect." She replied softly, her eyes filled with happiness as she glanced briefly over their kits as they slept. Gently the she-cat began grooming her mates fur, enjoying the relaxing and joyful atmosphere that engulfed the nursery. "Hmm?"She hummed a question like sound in response to him as he said her name, and briefly stopped grooming him to meet his eyes curiously.

Gently nudging Blackspots shoulder with his tail, the tom began to pad in the direction of camp, his ears and eyes pricked and alert for anything along the way. Glancing up at the sky, he noted briefly the swirling colors of the sky, as a light breeze swept over the grass, and ruffled his fur.

A bit of surprise flashed in the grey toms eyes as he listened to the announcement, having not expected what it was about, before Sootpaw simply shrugged, brushing his surprise off. A startled mrrow brought him out of his thoughts, and as he realized the source of the sound - Dawnfire, his mentor - he couldn't help but snicker at her in amusement - she would likely never hear the end of it, until he forgot that was. After a few moments of fighting the urge, he was unable to hold his tounge anymore. "Do I look like a badger?" He teased with a chuckle, halfway trying to be quiet as to not draw too much attention; yet failing as it came out louder then he would have liked.

Juniperkit began to grow bored, though he was happy that when he grew up, he didnt have to be assigned to a she cat. He looked over and saw RiverKit sitting alone. Juniperkit trotted over to her and sat down. "Hi. " He mewed, wanting to give her some company because she seemed to be very alone.

“I think Shadowstep and Flightrunner found a kit as well.” Blizzardpaw said quietly, so only Duskkit heard. The apprentice looked at Flightrunner with the kit and smiled, hoping maybe the kit might like to go play with the other kits, at least until Quietstar was ready to see her. She then focused her attention on the meeting.

Why take away the assigned mates rule? Does this mean I can be mates with another tom? Cinderpaw thought. She noticed Firepaw seemed annoyed or bothered with the idea of having no assigned mate. Did Cinderpaw want a mate? Of course! But a tom or a she-cat? she thought, looking down at her paws. She wasn’t sure about that. She wouldn’t go looking for a mate right away either way.

Frostkit flicked her ears confused. “Does this mean the clan members can decide who to be mates with?” She asked. She knew she was still pretty young but she never thought she would hear Quietstar say they didn’t have to have assigned mates. The thought relieved her, even if she was still to young for a mate.
