Trees hung over Kilula, spreading their vast twisty branches around around him. Kilula darted back and forth, trying to escape the eery grasp of the forest but it was hopeless. He had wondered too far into the kingdom of the unknown and he had lost his way. Wherevervhe looked it was the same. Every tree twisted and turned, stretching their creepy branches like arms trying to touch the sky. Kilula was terrified and alone. He deeply regretted yelling at his mother and running away. He wanted to go home. Kilula didn't know what to do. In desperation he called for his mother, but no-one came.
Meanwhile Kilula's mother, Mausa, was frantically looking for her kit. She was stressed and practically drowning in worry as she dartedcaround the forest calling her kits name. Unfortunately for most of the evening she had been searching in the wrong parts of the forest, far far away from Kilula. Her footsteps were heavy, she wad tired and yet she refused to give up. Mausa was determined to kind her precious kit.
The thought of night cosumed Kilula's tiny worried mind as the sun began to creep below the valley. The trees seemed to close in even more, now without any sunlight to focus on the forest turned its attention to Kilula. A rustle came from nearby as the nocturnal crestures began to emerge. Kilula begun to cry and call out for his mother even more, but he ended up getting too scared and tried to hind up a tree. What once seemed twisty and creepy suddenly felt more cosy and save. Kilula made a small den amongst the branches and leaves.
Kilula couldn't sleep. As safe as he felt high in the treetops, he was extremely frightened. The tree wasn't very comfy either wich didn't help. Suddenly he heard another rustle nearby. He braced himself and tried to hide from whatever was coming.
Mausa jumped out from the background, leaves and seeds grasping onto her soft fur. She had mud all over her and twigs stuck on her head. She was tired and scruffy, but still recognisable to Kilula. "Mum!" he yelled as he carelessly jumped out of the tree and landed on top of Mausa, who was relieved to have found her kit.
