"Alright," chuckled Melody, "That's enough." Her laugh was a facade, though- Rodney hadn't been at the hanging the morning before. He hadn't seen the good old navy sailor, the one who had done so much to help them. He hadn't seen Alex hang. "I think you're ready- but remember, we're street urchins, not posh nobles. Here, wait a second while I whip up a disguise." The girl darted into her cabin and rifled through her clothes, looking for- there it was! Something she had worn a long time ago, a brown skirt covered in patches. She pulled the scarf from around her waist and tied it about her head, then pulled out a cloth square and fashioned an eyepatch, which she used to cover her left eye. Then she changed into the skirt, pulled on a tatty gray shirt, and took off her shoes. Going back on deck, you wouldn't have recognized her. Red hair pulled up inside the scarf and tied back, she looked like any young street child. "A fanciful mornin' to ye, sir," she said to Rodney in a broken voice, smiling to reveal teeth that appeared chipped, although they were only partially covered by black wax. It was a favorite trick of hers.
