Just like every other CS user, I have a "Pets without a group group.
Here you'll find new pets I haven't sorted yet, but sometimes you will find a dressed up pet hanging out in the group to greet you!. Many of my pets like to visit all the pets which land in this group before they are sorted. The new pet's positions of the are decided and their transfers are organised by Pip and Candace.

To minimize the amount of groups I have, I simply use one group to hold all of my hoards. I like to collect pets until I have a multiple of twenty, then I place it in here. This way, it looks nice and neat as you'll get a new hoard every page/few pages. :)
