As she watched the clan cat stumble off, she knew they had to make a camp far away from the aggressive band of cats. They would take the other beach that she had found, She headed off though the bushes making sure that Gray wouldn't hear them.

x softpaw, after fussing with most of the herbs laid out in the medicine den, lifted his head as he took in the terrible scent of blood. "shadestorm. you smell that?" he asked, tilting his head. his other mentor, jayfrost, had been out of camp for a reasonable amount of time, and softpaw really hadn't paid much attention to that fact. his fur bristled as he poked his head out of the medicine den, what was left of his vision clouded by the sun. he stared at the camp entrance worriedly, but kept his paws planted in the medicine den. shadestorm will take care of jayfrost.

Silverpaw sulked as the two of them made their way across the beach. She'd hoped Jasperpaw would've been up for acting as if nothing had happened. Clearly he wants the attention, she thought tutting. Silverpaw turned her head away from him, gazing out over the sea to the far off horizon. On a day as beautiful as this, Silverpaw felt rotten, knowing she was in for a good telling off as soon as they reached their mentors. The sound of Jasperpaw's voice faded into background sound as Silverpaw's mind wandered away, taking her with it. Before she knew, the water swirled around her paws, grains of sand slipping away beneath her. She smiled, her earlier irritating washing away like waves. Silverpaw dipped her paw in the salty water and jerked her wrist, flicking water towards Jasperpaw. It splattered his pelt and she couldn't contain a snort of amusement. The pretty she-cat braced herself for the toms stern reply.

Shadestorm had just put Frecklekit down in a soft bed of moss before Softpaw spoke. "Smell wha- oh," she started, stopping as the scent of blood reached her nose. She closed her eyes, quietly counting her breaths. "What in the name of Starclan is going on now?" she muttered, lashing her tail in irritation. Opening her eyes, she glanced between Softpaw, Frecklekit and Riverpaw. This place is going to get real crowded, isn't it, she thought to herself. "Hey, Softpaw, if you see anything, let me know, okay?" she meowed.

Jasperpaw frowned when Silverpaw didn't respond and looked down at his feet. He followed Silverpaw and watched his feet move; right, left, right, left and on and on and on. Soon he felt the sand grow damper beneath his feet and looked up- just as Silverpaw flicked the salty water into his pelt. "Hey!" he meowed in surprise, snapping upright. "What was that for?" he grumbled, not sure if the apprentice was just playing a joke or not. Jasperpaw lashed his tail and reared onto his hind legs, flicking water back at Silverpaw. Grinning triumphantly, he let out a small laugh before the waves knocked him off his feet. He fell face first into the water, and came back up wet and spitting.

the lithe she-cat walked almost completely silently within the clan’s territory, alert for any sounds of nearby prey or enemies. stopping, she pricked her ears forward and listened. hearing the sound of a mouse, she dropped into a hunters crouch, waiting for her prey to come into view. soon enough, an unknowing mouse scurried almost right beneath her, and she reached out with a paw, grabbing the creature before simply killing it. satisfied, she looked around, being sure no cat was around. after realizing she was completely alone, she bent her head down and ate her kill, being sure to leave no trace of blood or bones near.
