Blizzardpaw heard Duskkit and couldn’t help smiling at him. She turned her attention to Quietstar, but not before looking at Flightrunner and Shadowstep with a kit. She didn’t feel like interrupting a meeting to talk about how the two she-cats had brought a kit back. She wasn’t against letting the kit join, but that was Quietstar’s decision to make. A long coming announcement? she wondered, waiting for her leader to speak.

Blizzardpaw smiled at Flightrunner and Shadowstep. Confused, she looked at Shadowstep. “Do you plan to tell Quietstar about that kit? I honestly don’t mind if she joins the clan. Who would turn down such a small helpless kit. I bet everyone would welcome her.” She said, keeping her voice low so she didn’t disturb Quietstar.

Cinderpaw saw Firepaw in the crowd of cats. She thought about maybe practicing their fighting after the meeting. They would have to learn sooner or later.

Frostkit stayed close to Flightrunner after she had said there was still danger this close to camp. She was surprised there was danger right outside. “But won’t you miss what Quietstar has to say? She probably expects the whole clan to be at the meeting.” Frostkit said.

Spiderleg jerked, startled by Cherrynose's sudden approach, but her surprised expression quickly turned into one of happiness. "Hey Cherrynose!" The black she-cat blushed, looking away momentarily. Why am I like this? What's so different about her that I love? She paused, wondering whether to mention the subject that kept bouncing around her mind. "I know this is blunt and kinda weird, but I was wondering, how do you feel about all the outsiders that seem to keep appearing here?" Spiderleg turned as Quietstar called for a clan meeting, and looked at Cherrynose apologetically before moving closer to the gathering group of cats. She gestured with her tail for the other she-cat join to her, then sat down.

Budfoot looked up as Quietstar called for a meeting, then joined the cats congregating near the highrock. The black-and-white tom glanced at his apprentice, who was still with Hawkpaw, but turned away, deciding that Starlingpaw could look after himself.

Moonwish's resentment faded, and instead empathy shone in her soft yellow eyes. "Oh, Embereyes, you don't have to do that. You were here first, and Halfmoon has been able to hold up even with his pain up until now. He can wait a little longer." She hated to pick sides, but she felt bad for snapping at the other she-cat. The silver maine coon spun on her hind paws as she heard Quietstar call out for a clan meeting. "Oh, Halfmoon, your first clan meeting!" Moonwish stepped closer to Silvereyes, but remained by the medicine den, not making any moves towards the rest of the clan at the base of the highrock.

Russetpaw bounced on his toes, already excited. "Yes! I bet Snowpaw's better than you Sagepaw!" He led the group of apprentices out of camp, not bothering to check to see if they were following. Once they arrived at the training hollow, he turned to face Snowpaw. "Us first! You guys can judge us and tell us where we went wrong!" The orange-and-white tabby looked to Solarpaw and Sagepaw.

Sagepaw huffed, but followed her brother out of camp, sticking close to Snowpaw. She scented the air as they walked, and smelled a mouse not too far away. Her legs itched to go after it, but forced herself to stay with the other apprentices. When they arrived at the training hollow, Sagepaw agreed with her brother's decision, but she rolled her green eyes at his bossiness as she sat down.

Ebonyclaw stalked through the forest, enjoying the silence of her movements. She relished in her greatness, knowing how vain she was being. The grey tabby suddenly stopped moving, and scented the air. Smelling a squirrel nearby, she remained stock-still, and watched, her yellow eyes wide, searching. The squirrel suddenly scampered out in front of her, not noticing her waiting. Ebonyclaw narrowed her eyes to slits, then leaped forward, claws outstretched. She killed the squirrel before it could alert other prey nearby.

pidge glanced between shiro and quietstar. neither of them seemed to be taking any notice of her. the tabby she-cat slowly began to sidle away from her brother. once she was a safe distance away, she trotted towards the two apprentices, her eyes sparkling with mischief. she raised her eyebrow questioningly when he asked her what her name was. that's one way of asking, she thought to herself with a snort of laughter. "I'm Pidge" she mewed. pidge glanced over her shoulder and spotted shiro's black coat in the crowd of cats. he didn't seem to be looking for her, which meant he had either seen her and chosen not to care, or he still hadn't noticed her absence.

the calico she-cat hesitated as she spotted sootpaw come wandering out of the medicine cat's den wearing an expression she knew only too well. awww, the poor little thing has a crush on skypaw...or frecklesting? nahhh, she thought. dawnfire glanced at thunderstorm, then back to sootpaw. she hadn't taken him out today and she really ought to. "sorry thunderstorm, I just realised I haven't taken out sootpaw. maybe we could go for a walk later? or maybe we could do...something else?" she purred, not entirely certain as to what she was 'implying' but felt like it was flirty so she said it anyway. "see ya!" she padded over to her apprentice. "sootpaw!" she called. "wanna go hunting?"

dawnfire looked over her shoulder as quietstar called a clan meeting. "nevermind. it'll have to wait until after the meeting" she mewed. she walked a few steps closer to the highledge and sat down. sootpaw was welcome to join her, but she assumed that the young cat would rather go sit with his friends.

The grey tabby sat quietly, gazing down at her clan as she watched them gather. Once she was sure she had their attention she lifted her head up "It has come to my attention that.. our tradition may have been hurting certain cats.. I believe we have interpreted it wrong and for that I am sorry." Quietstar said slowly. She watched them closely gauging their reactions as she continued. "Our tradition is that mates are paired together once they are twenty moons old. But we've only been pairing toms and she-cats together. We never stopped to ask anyone their preference." she said. "I've spoken with the senior members of this clan.. And a few other cats.. And I believe we've found a way to correct this. From now on, when cats reach twenty moons old they can speak up and say how they'd rather be paired. Be it with a tom or a she-cat. No one has to suffer in silence any longer." with that she stood up. "So if anyone has been paired incorrectly, now is the time to speak up so that we may correct it!"

They want to show they're capable of being warriors. So we let them. His face betrayed no emotions, no clue on how he felt about this at all. But he was happy, he felt as though everyone deserved to be able to be with someone they loved. Now if they could trust that loved one.. Well that was a different subject he didn't like to think about..

Ravenwind hesitated, glancing between Moonwish and Embereyes. He wanted to argue that Embereyes should go first as well but would that be overkill? Would that upset her more? Oh he should have thought more into it before he opened his mouth. They were assigned mates after all. And he didn't want to give her the impression he was mousebrained..

Oceankit watched intently, she was going to master this for sure! They'd know all the basics before they were apprentices and maybe they wouldn't have to leave each other? Maybe if they were that good they could just stay with their parents longer. She tried her best to correct herself but let out a loud huff and fell down when she heard her mother's call and her father's insistence to listen to it. She frowned pouting once more but turning her head to look over at her mother. She was quiet as she spoke and slowly turned her head to look at her siblings. She didn't really understand most of what her mother was talking about and what little she could she had no interest in. She wanted to keep learning!
