She blinked, sensing her new companions were hungry. "I can't hunt, but if you want to stop and eat, I could definitely find some herbs so help ease your pain!" she said nervously, flapping her huge white and pink wings enthusiastically. "I'm Empress, by the way."

The goat noticed sadness in the canine's gaze. Frowning, they walked backwards slowly, before charging at the tree, leaping onto a lower branch and yelping as it lurched. They then tried desperately to balance as they attempted to climb farther into the tree, until they were nearly eye-level with the wolf. "You okay?" they asked, cocking their head to one side.

"Hi Empress, I'm Dakota. About the herbs and such, we're almost there anyways, maybe we could go hunting later," Dakota offered. She could see her den from here; it was a cozy den, lots of scrolls and herbs. She trotted nimbly over to her den. "This should do the trick," she picked out a small pile of chamomile flowers and ground them up with a small rock, and added some water she kept in a small bowl, crafted from tree bark. She placed the finished product in another hand-crafted bowl, and walked over to Scruffy. "Ready?"

Being too large to fit into the cave, Empress waited outside, poking her large head through the doorway. She hoped she wasn't being a burden, she always hated feeling useless. She knew she shouldn't, but the urge overtook her to help the animals that had let her stay with them. Reaching into the small, almost unnoticeable leather pouch that was tied around one of her neck spikes, she brought out a small, black rock, it was nothing much, but she could give it a small enchantment that might help Dakotas healing. She ducked out of view,touched the rock to her forehead, and whispered, "let this stone heal the young cheetah's paw well, and give Dakota the knowledge to help cure any further pain the cheetah may experience. Oh, and let them hunt fruitfully tonight." She placed the rock in the soft dirt outside the house, hoping the enchantment worked. She could already feel her energy draining from the effort it took to cast the spell, but she thought it was worth it.

"Hmm? What's that?" Dakota inquired, seeing Empress place a small black rock in the dirt near her den. Dakota did feel bad; the den was too small for the poor dragon to enter, she was forced to wait outside.

"Oh, nothing!" she said quickly. "It got caught in my wing on the flight over here, and um, we dragons do like to return natural items back to the soil, where they belong most!" she hoped her story was convincing enough. Magic was very taboo among dragons, and she didn't want word to get out that she enchanted items for measly uses.

"Oh, alright then!" Dakota smiled, and went back to mixing the ointment. Dakota could clearly tell it wasn't nothing; Empress was thinking far too hard about dropping a rock in the soil. Dakota shrugged it off, but kept it in mind.
