There was this stiff silence in the air as the last of the rain faded out- the last of the screams fading away
into dull groans and then into nothing at all. The flood had wiped away the clan in a second and maybe it
was for the best. Every story had an end, all lives had a death and finally the clan of over 40 cats disappe
ared overnight. Just like that, under a torrent of muddy water years of history- love, life and loss was wa
shed into the void.
But some of us survived- gasping through the surface of the raging storm. Claws torn from dragging their b
odies to the safety and hearts broken from the loss. And then, just as quick as it had came the water fade
d away. The ground was wet underpaw and everything looked different and foreign. Some had made it out
alive but lost so much. Injuries were everywhere on the survivors and they were lost in the cold dark worl
d. Loneliness was suffocating but in a world as small as our own- no-one is ever truly alone.
