Thankful that the tom was now on his way to get the patrol he suggested together, he turned back to Whiteflame and Spottedpaw. "
Now that the border patrol is settled," He meowed with a smile, "
Shall we head off?" He asked the warrior and his apprentice. He hoped that together they would be able to catch quite a bit to fill the already diminishing pile of prey.

After Palenose confirmed being ready she turned her attention to Mountainshade and waited for his response since he was leading the patrol. Though she doubted that he wouldn't be ready considering he had come over to them. In the back of her mind she wondered why she didn't talk to these cats often, they seemed similiar to her in different ways. Where Palenose was like her in being quiet, Mountainshade knew the feeling of loosing loved ones and they probably understood each other.

As she made her way towards the stream, the sound of rustling leaves caught her attention. Dropping the sparrow, she scented the air and found that there was a mouse she'd almost walked past. She could feel the slight breeze sending her scent towards the mouse but aimed to catch her prey despite it. Crouching, she stalked towards the mouse now noting how it looked older and therefore less tasty. Despite being so careful, her tail ended up brushing against a bush and startling the mouse. There was no way she would let it get away now that she was so close though. A single leap later and she had the mouse in her grip, limp. The kill was messy and she turned her nose up at how she could've made such an imperfect kill. Never the less, she gave her thanks to Starclan and returned to her sparrow, struggling to pick up her first piece of prey alongside her second, before making her way towards the stream once more.

She agreed that Duskpaw wold have made a good Roseclan cat, but didn't say anything in return. She tried not to think about what it would've been like to live in another clan since it would mean her parents would never have become mates and her and her brothers would never have been born. "
That sounds good. Maybe have them hunt now while the prey hasn't all been scared away with border patrols then let them have a break at sun-high before moving on to battle training." She suggested, trying to think back to how her mentor trained her.

His eyes caught the sight of a familiar calico pelt, Cherryblossom, his assigned mate. He wasn't sure how to really feel about the situation. His own parents had been assigned mates and didn't particularly like each other leading to only being raised by his mother. It had hurt seeing his father around camp but not being able to really talk to the tom with no reason like other kits had been able to do. While he didn't want to have the same relationship his parents did, he didn't really want to have an assigned mates then have kits. However, if they were to have kits, he would do everything he could to ensure they were happy.

He smirked, sensing a challenge in Dawnclaw's voice that may or may not have been there. He pricked his ears, listening for anything nearby while he scented the air. The sound of fluttering wings caught his attention and he snapped his head in the direction it came from. The still air aided his approach towards the sound. When he was close enough he spotted the bird, a thrush by the looks of it, pecking around in the dirt. Carefully, he stalked towards the thrush, and pounced when he was close enough. The kill was a little messy when the bird began to flap in an attempt to escape.
