There were flashes of scenes in her head looked like they belonged in a horror film. The one that stood out most -a child holding out to her a crimson - stained hand, a sad smile though that was all she could see of the child's face. The child asked for her forgiveness, and asked her to come with them. In result, as soon as she realized there were hands on her shoulders, her eyes shot open, pupils small. Grimacing she shoved the hands away. " don't touch me!" Breathing heavily, after a few moments she calmed down a bit and realized it was only Daniel. " er.. sorry...i don't know why I did that..." She spoke softly. Though she had calmed down, she hadn't quite fully recovered yet. Then she also had to admit those images were quote frightening.. that, and... there was something so familiar about the child that kept appearing. These images hadn't started appearing until last night, after she had met Daniel.

After he had left, he returned to the castle, and showered, changing into fresh clothing. After that he had a snack before heading outside. Even he had to admit though that the town was seriously messed up. It wasn't natural to just see humans disappear off the street. Poor humans. They didn't deserve that. Though Harper should be thanking him. He might've spared her a rather unfortunate fate. Walking around the town, he watched the townspeople carefully. Some claimed humans there, an unclaimed one there..a group of vamps over there. Oh, wait ... that human looked familiar. Ah, it was Harper! Smiling he made his way behind her, before placing his arm over her shoulder. " heeeyyyy Harper. Long time no see."

Daniel flinched and moved away from Ayumi, letting her calm down. What just happened to her? He watched her wordlessly for a little bit, noting how tense and on edge she'd been just a few seconds before. "Are... you okay?" he asked, staring at her with wide and curious eyes. "Did.. did you... see something?" he asked,"I-It must've been really scary..." he muttered, averting his gaze. He sighed and got to his feet, picking up the cup of water by the couch. "Here, drink," he said softly, handing the cup to her.

Harper jumped at the arm suddenly draping over her shoulder and the voice behind her. She spouted multiple words that weren't very kind and tore herself away from the supposed stranger, eyes wide with anxiety and surprise. When she realized it was Kio, she let out a deep sigh and glared at him. "Please, for your own wellbeing, don't sneak up on me like that again," she said, crossing her arms."If you had been lucky enough, you would've gotten kneed in the gut again." She let out a little laugh and smiled. "Now, what do you want, pretty boy?" she asked as she turned and began walking again, slower now so Kio could catch up.

It was about ten minutes before she finally calmed, with only minor residue of terror in her gaze. Slowly sipping on the water, she softly spoke. " im... fine..." She spoke hesitantly. " it.. It's nothing, really.. Just some.. some remnants of some nightmares..t- that's all..." she lied. She didn't want him to think she was crazy. " I'm.. sorry for slapping your hand away. It was unnecessary and you were just trying to help..." finally meeting his gaze for a few moments, she continued frowning. " um.. weird question but.. could you... smile for me?"

" honestly death wish, you can't really hurt me. You can annoy me, but you can't kill me. As skilled as you seemed to be in the martial arts, it takes hunters a lifetime of practice and preparation, and even then they often can't take down a pureblood..." he then sighed gently. " though i must admit, if any human was to take me down... I wouldn't mind if it was you...." smiling again he once more draped his arm over her shoulders. " eh. Got bored. Nobody around here is as brave as you. Most of them know how to spot a vampire.. It's easy for them. Those who don't know how to spot us are still usually wary... they're all afraid of us..."

Daniel didn't believe her, but he didn't want to pry. "It's alright, I understand why you did. You were scared, after all." he said, the slight stinging sensation on his hand was dwindling away. The question he asked her next made him extremely confused, smile at her? What for? If he smiled, she would probably notice his fangs and freak out. Or, maybe she wouldn't see them as fangs, just slightly larger than normal canines. He sighed before giving her a forced smile, a little self-conscious of his teeth. He probably looked like an idiot too.

Harper rolled her eyes,"Yeah, yeah I know I wouldn't be able to hurt you, but it doesn't hurt to try." she said, giving him a look. " and gee, thanks. Is that supposed to be a compliment or something?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. She tensed up a little when he placed his arm around her shoulders again, but quickly relaxed into it a little. She'd have to get used to it after all. The girl let out a deep sigh and crossed her arms as they walked,"I see, well, I'm kind of stuck with you." she said, glancing to him,"Plus I don't really know how to spot a vampire, obviously. The only way I know how to so far is if they have fangs, and their eyes glow red, which is... really creepy." she looked around at the people they passed. Some gave the two weird looks, some averted their eyes, and some... stared at her hungrily.

still as a statue she studied his face, carefully. The smile didn't quite look like the one from the image she saw, but...there was something off and familiar about it too...but what? Continuing to think, she finally determined what it was that was bothering her. The teeth. More specifically, the upper canines. They seemed sharper than a normal persons..but then again, some people's just were that way..right? Either that, or he's a weirdo who gets his teeth sharpened. In the end, she determined he most likely wasn't the child from the image, at least from what she could tell by a mere smile. Visibly relaxing a bit, she looked away. ''you can stop now...thank you...''

'' There a more obvious signs then that you can tell from a distance. For starters, though the sun doesn't harm us, it does make us progressively tired. Therefore, we try to stick to the shade as much as possible. Next, is how they look at you. Some will look at you like they're disgusted and think of you only as food...those who are hungry will look at you like they are a lion and you a delectible gazelle. You will also notice two different types of people; those who walk alone, or those who walk in groups. Those in groups are more likely to be human, as there is strength and protection in numbers. Those who walk alone are most likely vampires. We aren't the type to group up, more like lone wolves, as we don't typically hunt in packs unless we have good reason to. Though there is also the chance a loner might just be a gutsy human like you, or have no clue we exist.''

Daniel's forced smile disappeared,"What was that all about?" he asked, eyebrows furrowed. Had she... seen someone like him in that supposed 'nightmare'? Or maybe she was checking to see if he was a vampire, but it didn't seem like she'd noticed. The way she'd analyzed his face carefully made him a little bit paranoid, maybe she was just pretending she hadn't noticed his fangs. "I mean, you don't have to tell me, but... I'd kinda like to know." he said, voice serious. He didn't want to scare her, but he wanted to know. Maybe she'd seen him in that flashback, or nightmare, or whatever it was.

Harper listened to him talk, nodding every once in a while as she watched the people they passed. She began to differentiate humans from vampires, their behavior and mannerisms in public. "Thanks for telling me this, it makes me feel less like a piece of prey." she said with a laugh. She spotted a vampire here and there that eyed her like a hawk, making her uncomfortable and a little nervous. One vampire, in particular, began following after them. It was a guy that looked maybe... 20. He had messy brown hair and his eyes matched it, they looked cold and hungry. He was a far behind them, but Harper could feel his eyes on the back of her head. Finally, Harper had had enough of being stalked, so she stopped and shrugged Kio's arm off of her before turning and staring the stranger in the eye. The vampire gave her a dumbfounded look before a grin stretched across his face,"What is it, sweetheart? Do I got somethin' on my face?" He asked, slinking up to her. "Yeah, you do." she sneered as she reared back and decked the vampire in the eye.

The vampire cried out and held a hand over his eye, calling Harper a few names. He hissed as he moved his hand away, a bloody cut spread under his eye. His eyes flashed a sickening red as he grabbed Harper's wrists, his nails digging into the soft skin. "Who do you think you are, human?" he growled as Harper winced, trying to pull her hands away. People, humans and vampires alike, stopped to watch the scene unfold. She heard a few giggles and gasps of horror as she stared the vampire in the eye. A smile stretched across her face,"You were asking for it." she said,"Plus, I'm bored, so this should be fun." She grinned.

'' It's not important....'' she huffed, avoiding further eye contact. If i tell him what i saw, he'll think i'm crazy. I suppose asking him to smile was a bit weird, but... it's not as weird as what she saw. '' lost in thought, she was snapped out of it when she heard how serious his voice was. For a moment, fear showed in her eyes. Fear of what wasn't clear. ''f-fine...i'm leaving anyways s-so i suppose it doesn't matter if you think i'm crazy....'' sighing she closed her eyes, turning her head away. '' Fine. I saw a child. He was holding out a hand to me, but...it was colored crimson up to his elbow. I couldn't see their face..... but i did see their smile. It was sad...yet angry...yet psychotic. He.... he asked me to forgive him, though i'm not quite sure what he was wanting me to forgive him for...he also asked me to come with him....and he....what i could see of him...kinda...looked like you...'' she huffed. ''but what does it matter. it's not like it was real or anything, so..just forget about it ok? Anyways, i think i'll be taking my leave. thanks for the hospitality.''

Though he had long known the vampire was following them, he had figured his status would of warded the other vampire off- nor did he expect Harper to react. For a moment, he was impressed she had punched the vampire in the face, but soon enough he pushed the thought aside. Unhappily he grabbed onto the wrist of the other vampire. ''Back of lowlife. She's mine, can't you tell? My fangs have marked her. I apologize for her behavior, she's new and still learning how things work, but i forbid you from harming my food supply....though if you wish, go ahead aand try, then see how long it takes until your i the castle's dungeons.''

Daniel listened, his eyes widened as she continued further. The child had looked like him? Maybe they'd... known each other when they were kids. That doesn't explain why he'd be covered in blood and why he looked a little crazy. He remained silent for a while, piecing together and processing everything she'd said. He finally cleared his throat,"W-wait, I... had something kind of like what you just had last night." he said, deciding to tell her how he knew her name."I got this bad... migraine. I didn't really remember much, but for some reason I... knew your name." he said,"I don't know how or why... This is all so weird and confusing." He looked down at his hands and sighed,"I-I don't think that kid in your dream was me, I-it couldn't've been." the boy looked back up to her with a sad and confused look.

The vampire looked at Kio and shoved Harper away, sending her stumbling back a few steps. "Gee, I'm sorry, your highness." The vampire started with a false apologetic look on his face,"I just wanted a little taste of what decadent little treats you royalty feed on." He sneered and gave Harper a look that made her stomach turn a little. The vampire grinned and wretched his wrist out of Kio's grip,"Keep your eyes open, girl." he hissed, the grin on his face had turned into a frown as he turned and walked away, disappearing down an alley. Harper stood and stared in the direction he'd gone,"He was asking for it.." she grumbled as she rubbed the hand she'd used to punch the vampire in the face. "And what the hell did he mean by 'decadent treats'?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. She was trying to ignore the fact that the vampire would most likely be stalking her now and that she was actually scared, terrified even.

Her hand hovering over the door knob, she stopped in her tracks and turned around as he asked her to wait. Either it was some sort of pity-lie, to make her feel not crazy, or he was being honest. '' Well...i suppose that would make sense then, how you knew my name....but, i also agree, it's quite weird, and very confusing... However, i still can't be for certain that the child wasn't you. remember, all i could really make out was the smile, but as far as that goes it wasn't very similar..though i would sure hope it wasn't you. Otherwise i would have spent the night at the house of someone who for some reason was once covered in blood.''

'' Lay a finger on her and I will personally take that desire of yours and shove it down your throat, and believe me when i say it will be most unpleasant.'' he hissed as the vampire left. Unhappily he took harper's arm gently in his hand and began walking. '' From now on, you are not allowed out of my sights, not for a second.....'' sighing gently, he thought carefully before answering her question. ''Well..there are many vampires, most in fact, that see humans merely as food. In a sense, you could think of it as how you think of your food. You have hotdogs and what not, which our equivalent is lousy blood. Then you have stakes and cheese cake, our equivalent being high-quality and fresh blood. As part of the royal family, everyone thinks we feed on only the highest-quality blood. Therefore he seems to think of you as a decadent treat. ''

"Y-yeah, I know." he said,"It could be me, or it couldn't. Even if it was I... don't see why I would've been like that..." he muttered, letting out a sigh. Daniel was beginning to feel a little more confident about this... odd situation. They'd both had strange flashbacks, Ayumi's being a bit gruesome and his just a memory of her name. But, it was still something. "What do you think these things mean?" he asked,"This has all gotta be connected in some way, b-but we won't really know until... one of us has another one of these episodes... if that does happen again at all." he trailed off, his confused expression replaced with a tired one. All this talking and thinking was draining him, it was light outside after all which made him more tired than usual.

Harper was surprised at Kio's remarks to the stranger, she figured he'd ignore him and move on for some reason. She was even more surprised when he took her arm and started leading her down the sidewalk, a look of surprise on her face. "Wait, wait, does that mean you're... kidnapping me?" she asked, a little annoyed. Her mom would freak if she didn't come home after midnight, which happened a lot, but if she didn't show up for a whole day she'd probably end up dead. "Or... are you just gonna watch me sleep again?" she continued,"And geez, I didn't know that was even a thing..."
