I don't know. Unhappy people who were complaining were more noisy and more visible online than people who are happy, but it's like that for everything and they know that. They know how many people bought the expansions anyway, and there are people who have bought the unrealistic expansions since the first Sims, and it should speak for itself. They can't please everybody, and I think they would have decided to please the people who felt left out by TS3 first even if we had stood up against the criticism more to not risk losing any player.
This years we had the toddlers, the pets and we will have the seasons, all of those have always been popular features so I think it's not the right time to complain, it was logical for EA to release that before releasing expansions that not everybody will like (actually I think pets and seasons should have been released in the first expansion packs and that toddlers should have been included in the game at the beginning, but that's another story).
It's frustrating for Faeries and Dragons lovers like me because it's very hard to create worlds with TS4 (yes, we could delete all buildings and families but it's time consuming), so we can't really create Fantasy worlds with mods and custom objects and clothes and we have to wait for EA to release fantasy stuffs (even if the graphism and gameplay are better now, I miss how it was easy to build worlds in TS2!).
Maybe a supernatural expansion will come after Seasons?
For the 70s (the decade not the show, I don't even know ) maybe there will be a stuff pack like there was in TS4. I am not sure of how they could do a full expansion, they'll have to add gameplay for that. Too be fair even if the 70s are cool, if I was harassing EA for an expansion set in the past I would ask for Ancient Greece, Egypt or Rome even if that will probably never exist :p (the closer from this I'll ever have is probably TS3 expansion in which we can explore pyramids).
the actual video advertisement of ts4 seasons looks not that exciting to me (probably since I've played ts3 seasons vigorously, it's not my first rodeo) but I am excited nonetheless! I think was an amazing addition to ts3 so I'm sure it'll provide at least a little entertainment in ts4.
..if only I could play the sims! both ts3 and ts4 on my computer are busted

Seasons were among my favorite expansion packs in both TS2 and TS3. I feel the risk is that they may think that since it's popular they don't have to add new stuffs in it. But if it's not that good a lot of players will be disappointed, so I hope there's something in it that we have not seen before. We'll see.
