Chubby Bunny: A good book that I read was called "Promise Not to Tell"by Jennifer McMahon. It is sooo good. Its one of those that you think you can guess the end and then the author throws something out there that changes eveything. It is soo good, but unless you like its a murder mystery/supernatural elements all in one. and it is written so well. Just a suggestion :)

Chubby Bunny wrote:Hey, does anyone have any book suggestions for me? :3 I'm getting through Lord of the Flies pretty quickly, and in a week I'm going to be on a plane for 14 hours, haha. xD Sooo I would really like having a book (or several) to read on my flight.

okay.. let's see here.. you're going to want books, I suppose, that you won't want to put down.. hm..
here is my list of recommendations:
The Invention of Hugo Cabret
This is the story of an orphan named Hugo Cabret living inside the walls of a train station in Paris who steals croissants and milk from the bakery to survive and has a wonderful way with machinery. He is trying to fix an automaton sitting at a miniature writing desk that his father left behind when he died, because he is convinced whatever it writes will be a message from his father. This book combines book, graphic novel, and film, with fivehundred some-odd pages and a little over half of them are full page beautiful, hypnotizing pencil drawings. This book is one of my favorites of all time. XD
Incarceron
Incarceron is a vast, enormous prison that contains not only cells, but dilapidated machanical forests and dark wastelands. Almost all of the thousands of prisoners that live in it do not even believe there is an Outside. Finn, a seventeen year old prisoner, believes he came from Outside, although he has no memory of his life from ages fifteen down, and wants to find a way out. He finds a crystal key, and through it, a girl named Claudia who claims to have come from Outside. She will try her best to help him escape, but she will need something from him in return. However, this will prove more difficult than either of them could have imagined.
BECAUSE INCARCERON IS ALIVE. *dun dun dunnnnn* (the sequel to this book is called Sapphique)
The Book Thief
A girl named Leisel during the Holocaust whose foster family is hiding a Jew. This book is beautiful, touching, and very very sad, and the writing style is gorgeous. The similes and metaphors the author uses are very imaginative, and everything about it makes you want to keep reading. Plus, the narrator is death. XD I don't remember a WHOLE whole lot about this book because it's been a while since I read it, but it's awesome, and fairly long.

Hope this helped! :D

edit: sorry for the e-novel XD lol

Thanks for the suggestions! ^^ All those books sound so good. C: If I can't choose, I might just have to end up bringing all of them. >>
Hugo Cabret and Promise Not To Tell especially sound good.
Oh, and Jabberwock:

I've already read The Book Theif, though I really wouldn't mind reading it again. That book is just so wonderful and touching. <3

Oh, and just out of curiosity, what's the longest book you've ever read? Mine is definitely Lonesome Dove. 1000+ pages, only to realize later that it was the sequel to another book that was just as long. >> NEVER AGAIN. xD

oh. Sorry, I didn't realize you'd already read the book thief!!! :D
the invention of hugo cabret is a WONDERFUL book. It's in my top five books, definitely. and that's saying something. XD lol. and there's something I left out in the hugo cabret summary thing, he winds all the train station clocks every day. everyone thinks it's his uncle that's doing it, but his uncle is dead. that's kinda important. :P

okay... longest book.. hm. I guess it would have to be one of the harry potters or one of the eragon books, I don't know which is longer. :3 DANG that Lonesome Dove book is a long'un... it's fun to talk like a hillbilly, ya'll. :D

edit: Chubby, you can be a mini-dictator too. Cause you were my first member! yay! :D
